During the last decade, there has been an increase in the use of technology-based self-services within the retail sector. The increase is particularly noticeable within the grocery market. The reason behind the increased use of these systems is partially due to the fact that companies within highly competitive retail markets continually look for ways of decreasing costs while upholding efficiency. The problem is that it is difficult to understand the true economical implications of investments relating to these machines. The purpose of this study is to investigate and contribute with new insights regarding the cost-structures of the stationary self-checkout systems and traditional cashier desks, within the retail grocery market.

Whether use of affirmative action can be justified is an ethical dilemma that hasbeen intensely debated. The question raises several conflict dimensions. Thepurpose of this thesis is to separate different arguments of the debate and classifywhich principles they are built upon. To accomplish this, an analytical instrumentis created where three different perspectives of equality, and deontology versusconsequentialism, are compared. A third conflict dimension, individual versusgroup ethical principles, is also considered.

I studien granskas hur lärare i kursen Instrument och sång 1 planerar sin undervisning, hur eleverna kan påverka undervisningen samt vad de tycker om den nya kursplanen i Gy11. Studien genomfördes i form av sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer där informanterna var verksamma instrumentallärare som undervisar på gymnasiet med olika lång erfarenhet av att undervisa. Kursplanen användes som grund för studien. Syftet med studien var att öka förståelsen för hur verksamma instrumental- och sånglärare i gymnasieskolan planerar utifrån kursplanen i Instrument och sång 1. Inför studien tog vi del av tidigare forskning och litteratur inom områdena planering, elevinflytande, kursplan, bedömning samt musik.

The function of budgetary controls is to control the resource allocation within companies. Behovet av att reducera skillnader som finns i redovisningen har länge varit stort. The aim of this study was to determine the basic movements of the riders? pelvis and upper body when riding in trot seated. The study was preformed at a treadmill with seven high level dressage horses and their riders. The movements of the horse and rider were captured with a motion analysis system (ProReflex®) and also recorded on video. The horses were ridden in collected trot, 3.0 m/s.

Sammanfattning: Bakgrund: Patienter med karpaltunnelsyndrom (CTS) är vanligt förekommande inom vården. Prevalensen är 4 % av befolkningen. Många har haft sina besvär länge vilket påverkar aktivitetsutförandet och sömnen negativt. Anamnes och bedömnings-instrument ger arbetsterapeut underlag till diagnostisering och interventioner. Tidig diagnostisering och arbetsterapeutiska interventioner möjliggör för ett bättre resultat.

Issuing convertible bonds for financing purposes has never become widespread practice amongst Swedish companies, in spite of the instrument being common in international markets. Economic theory based on efficient markets suggests that companies should gain no financial benefits from using convertibles and the Swedish situation could be interpreted as in line with this reasoning. However, there are Swedish companies that have chosen to issue convertibles and the Swedish market therefore seems both supportive and contradictory to the existence of benefits of convertible bond financing. Little research concerning the Swedish market has been conducted and the purpose of this explorative thesis is thus to enhance the understanding of the Swedish market for convertibles. This is achieved by conducting in-depth interviews with six listed Swedish companies that have recently issued convertible bonds.

Researchers, planners, and government agencies agree that road safety for children must be a priority and in particular that children should have a safe and secure way to travel to and from school regardless of age or the distance travelled. In Sweden, child traffic safety is a key part of the country?s Nollvision, a long-term traffic policy goal of ?no deaths or serious injuries?. Unfortunately, many countries have recorded increases in child traffic accidents as the percentage of parents who drive their children to school and thus congestion around schools has increased. Common strategies include traffic safety education for children, the redesign and improvement of traffic infrastructure, bicycle training, and carpooling.This thesis assesses the traffic problem around Ludvigsberg School in the district Valbo in Gävle, Sweden.

During the winter 2011 Isaksson and Andersson did a time budget study on Nordens Ark?s Przewalskis horses during daytime when there were visitors and caretakers in the park. This time budget study was made during daytime and when there were no visitors or caretakers in the park. The horses where observed in the morning (5.30-6.30 am) and in the evening (5.45-6.45 pm) during four days. In addition to a time budget, the horses? positions in the enclosure were registered.

Studien undersöker hur lärare behandlar undervisningsinnehållet geometrisk likformighet, samt de möjliga dimensionerna av variation som öppnas. Studien genomfördes genom observation av fyra gymnasielärare, vilka undervisar i matematikkurs B (samhällsprogrammet). Observationerna kompletterades med två intervjuer. The aim of this study was to develop and psychometrically evaluate an instrument for measuring the impact from chronic pain on daily life. Traditionally psychometric evaluation is done with parametric methods even if the items are ordinal data. In this study the instrument to be developed is solely based on ordinal data, and the psychometrically evaluation is done with both traditional methods (i.e. parametric statistics) as well as with non-parametric methods. These two different ways of psychometrically evaluation are then compared with each other.

The aim of this master thesis is to measure library service quality in two groups of libraries, newly developed and well established, and to see if there are any differences in the users perception of the dimensions in LibQUAL+. The thesis also examines the different perception of quality for the user groups: undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. Another approach is to test the Swedish translation of LibQUAL+. Different theories on service quality are presented but the main theories are from the marketing perspective. The grounding and development of LibQUAL+ is described as well as the use of the instrument in different libraries.
