In this study we examine how much latency is required in an RTS-game (Real-Time Strategy) before the player quits the game. In the study latency is simulated in the games Age of Mythology and Starcraft: Brood War with the program WANem, and then the testplayers are asked ?Do you want to quit because of latency??. This data is then gathered and compiled into graphs to show the results. These results show that the limit for when players want to quit differs between the two games and that there are two factors that play into this.

I föreliggande examensarbete beskrivs de tankar en läkare kan ha innan, under och efter ett svårt patientbesked och om de riktlinjer som finns hjälper när en läkare ska framföra ett svårt besked. Nio intervjuer genomfördes med läkare inom barnmedicin och onkologi. Resultaten visade att innan patientbeskedet kunde det kännas jobbigt, men att de påminde sig själva att det inte var de som gjorde patienten ledsen utan sjukdomen. Under patientsamtalet låg fokus på patienten och läkaren sätter sina egna emotioner åt sidan för att ge patienten utrymme och för att ha kontroll över situationen. Efter patientsamtalet är kommunikation ett av de viktigaste momenten, att få ventilera patientmötet med kollegor men även med familjen.

Abstrakt: Kommunikation mellan medborgare och folkvalda har en central funktion för att demokratin skall hållas levande. Denna kommunikation bereds det möjlighet för bland annat via IT-stöd i olika former, varav e-post är den vanligaste. Denna studie visar dock att nivån på elektronisk kommunikation mellan medborgare och kommunalpolitiker är låg, trots att politikerna är positiva till fenomenet. Denna studie, som är baserad på intervjuer med skånska kommunpolitiker från fyra olika kommuner, fann att elektronisk kommunikation i första hand kan ökas genom att på olika sätt påverka medborgarnas vilja till att ta denna kontakt men att folkvalda också bör ta till sig tanken att mer aktivt söka kontakt med medborgarna. Vårt förslag är att denna kontakt tas via forum som är av mindre politisk karaktär men där medborgarna naturligt befinner sig.

In modern leadership research, leadership is often viewed as a social construction, and under this paradigm various researchers let the media play a central role in constructing leadership. Meanwhile, the question of how the media actors do this is left unanswered. We explore the question of how and why the media construct leadership, from the vantage point of the media actors themselves, and the conditions they work under. Different mechanisms for media construction of leadership are identified in previous research. Through interviews with business journalists at Veckans Affärer, we find recognition for some of the explanatory mechanisms: namely that personification of a CEO facilitates the work of journalists (and sells papers), that personal drama captures reader demand, and that the CEO of a listed company consciously cultivates his or her personal parallel self.

The study aims to contribute knowledge about children's perceptions of the leisure-time as a learning environment. The study can be seen as an attempt to highlight the possible learning in the leisure-time, formally or informally.The study is based on two group interviews with a total of 11 children and was conducted by an interview guide with question areas to be discussed freely so that the children could give as full an answer as possible.Main results of the study show that children feel that they are staying at the leisure-time to get care when their parents are working and that they primarily associate the leisure-time with playing. The results show however that children feel that they learn things when participating in the leisure-time teaches controlled activities.It is possible to draw conclusions about the child actually experienced the leisure-time as a learning environment, but it can be difficult to identify when and how learning actually occurs. Håller den offentliga sektorn på att förändras i en mer ekonomistisk riktning? Har new public management tagit över den offentliga verksamheten? Håller de offentliga värdena på att försvinna från dagordningen? Det är frågor som vi i vår uppsats söker svar på. Vårt studieobjekt är kvalitetsmässan, ett forum för debatt kring den offentliga sektorns verksamhet. Genom en kritisk diskursanalys undersöker vi hur debatten ser ut, vilka diskurser som finns representerade samt hur detta kan kopplas till större samhällstrender. Det vi har funnit är att mässan präglas av en effektivitetsdiskurs hämtad från new public management men att även mer traditionella offentliga värden tas upp.

ABSTRACTPurpose/aim: The aim of this essay is to make a comprehensive study of the phenomenon of net dating, both among those who have dated on the internet and among those who haven?t tried it at all. Key questions to be answered are what attitudes are associated with net dating? How do the attitudes differ between those who have tried compared to those who haven?t? What kind of positive and negative aspects is there with net dating? Are there any prejudices against net dating and ? if so, what kind of prejudices? How does the future look for net dating?Material/method: Qualitative method with eight interviews divided into two groups depending weather the person has tried net dating or not.Main results: The study shows that net dating is a phenomenon that will continue to grow and attract more users. The most significant result from the interviews are the different prejudices that are articulated.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur modersmålslärare upplever arbetet i ett arbetslag och vilken funktion den har. Med dessa utgångspunkter vill vi undersöka om samverkan i ett arbetslag har något betydelse för elevens lärande och vilka fördelar respektive nackdelar lärarna ser med arbetslaget. Vidare vill vi ta reda på om samverkan i arbetslaget kan bidra till modersmålsverksamhetens utveckling. Denna studie har gjorts i två modersmålsverksamheter. I insamlandet av empiri har vi använt oss av kvalitativa intervjumetoder med 15 modersmålslärare, och observationer vid sex olika tillfällen. Vi kom fram till i vår undersökning att arbetslaget upplevs mer som en socialt och reflekterande funktionsform än ett beslutsfattande forum.

Examensarbetet har utförts vid GE Healthcare i Umeå och undersöker upprättandet av upprepade dispensärenden på avvikande artiklar. En dispens innebär att en artikel används trots avvikelse från specifikationer eller ritningsunderlag, vilket orsakar eventuella kostnader genom administrativ hantering och produktionsstopp. Dessutom är det svårt att säkerställa hur avvikelsen hos artikeln påverkar kunden.Syftet med examensarbetet är att ta fram ett arbetssätt för att hantera upprepande dispensärenden. Krav och önskemål rörande det nya arbetssättet har identifierats genom enkätundersökning och intervjuer med personal från den nuvarande dispensprocessen.En rekommendation är att skapa ett tvärfunktionellt forum där personer från olika avdelningar träffas för att granska och diskutera de senaste dispensärendena samt, på ett systematiskt sätt, försöka identifiera och åtgärda de underliggande problemen. Utöver forumet är våra rekommendationer att:? Utse en processägare för dispensprocessen? Revidera rutinen för dispensprocessen? Hårdare krav för att godkänna dispensärenden? Utbilda personalen? Undersök möjligheterna att införa en standardiserad snabblösning för mindre problem.

Computer based information systems play an important role in modern military combat vehicles. The crew needs to be able to quickly get information about both the vehicle and its outer surroundings in order to quickly make the correct decisions. In this report, we describe the development of a prototype new information system for the BvS10 vehicle, manufactured by BAE System Hägglunds AB in Örnsköldsvik.An important aspect of the system is the time it takes from the point that the information is generated by the vehicle sensors until it is presented to the user. The system must be able to ensure that it never displays information that is out of date. Thus, it is important to create a layer and component based architecture for the solution, making it possible to control, in detail, the information?s age as it moves through the system.

The author is active as a musician in the field of historically informed performance practice (HIP) which emanated from the 20th century early music movement. Studying of historical sources has a central role, but the problem of how interpretation and selection of source material is affected by art and music ideals of our time, is commonly acknowledged. Georg Joseph Vogler shows in a series of articles in "Betrachtungen der Mannheimer Tonschule" (1778-1781) how Stabat Mater by Pergolesi could, and in his opininon, should be improved. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how this source can be used from the standpoint of a performing musician: How can I use Vogler?s methods in my playing?The introduction problematizes Vogler?s action in relation to his time, and to ours.
