This Master s thesis deals with the display of library media, whether it is conceivable and desirable to draw inspiration from the retail business when displaying articles. The questions asked are: are there, in the retail sector, well established display ideas and - if so - what do they look like? Are the similarities in conditions, between the branches, sufficient? In conveying the ideas to libraries, are the potential differences not obstructive? Is there, among librarians, a positive attitude towards further development of library display techniques? The results were achieved by interviewing shop window dressers and librarians. In addition, a survey was sent to the library managers of 65 public libraries in southern Sweden. The results show that there are established ideas and methods of displaying materials, and that the ideas are manifested in frequently used techniques.

In this Master's thesis we investigate the collection management regarding fiction for adults. The apprehension of fiction has changed over the years. From the beginning it was considered to be mostly educational rather than being the purpose of entertainment. As for today these views are not opposites to each other. Regarding this we discuss the problem concerning terms of quality.

The purpose of this masters? thesis is to investigate how public librarians perceive privacy in connection with new technology in libraries. The main research questions are: - How do librarians experience the phenomenon privacy in the library?- How do librarians experience the relation between privacy and technology in the library?- What does this say about the relationship between privacy, technological development and library work?The study was performed with a phenomenographic methodological approach. The material consists of qualitative interviews with eight librarians who work at public libraries where the technology RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) has been implemented.

The focus of this thesis is to examine posts on library?s Facebook pages and to investigate possible connections between posts and user response. The study examines posts published from thirty different libraries Facebook pages over a two week period to examine if any correlation between different subjects or types of posts affects the degree and type of response from the users.The findings show that photos stand for the majority of the published post concerning its type and that activities at the library was the most common subject of posts. After using eta as measure of association a tenuous connection between degree of response and the posts subject and between the degree of response and the type of post was found. The standard deviation, however, was high in the majority of the variables used.

Det finns flera rapporter som visar pÄ att denna elevgrupp fÄr sÀmre resultat pÄ de nationella Àmnesproven i matematik Ärskurs 9 jÀmfört med genomsnittsresultat i Sverige.För att fÄ en djupare förstÄelse för elevernas kunskaper har studien en kvalitativ ansats. Nio elever har fÄtt ett antal uppgifter att lösa, följt av en intervju dÀr de har fÄtt tillfÀlle att förklara och motivera sina lösningar. Uppgifterna var hÀmtade frÄn det nationella Àmnesprov i matematik Ärskurs 9 och valda utifrÄn att kunna se pÄ olika matematiska kompetenser som speglas i svenska styrdokument. I intervjuerna fick eleverna ocksÄ berÀtta om sin tidigare erfarenhet och kort om sin bakgrund.

Bakgrund: Boende med allvarlig psykisk oh?lsa p? s?rskilda boenden har brist p? meningsfulla aktiviteter i sin vardag. Gruppen har begr?nsade sociala kontakter och ofta sv?righeter att bibeh?lla en god aktivitetsbalans. Aktiv i Mitt Hem (AiMH) ?r en aktivitetsbaserad intervention som syftar till att motivera boende till ?kat aktivitetsengagemang.

Elever fÄr allt fler hjÀlpmedel som kan anvÀndas till fusk och det Àr enklare att plagiera arbeten i det allt mer tekniska samhÀllet. NÀr man skrev med papper och penna fick man lov att förbereda sig genom att skriva en fusklapp, idag kan man komma Ät internet med sin dator eller mobiltelefon direkt man mÀrker att en uppgift Àr för svÄr. Den nya tekniken har Àven inneburit att det blivit lÀttare att upptÀcka vissa typer av fusk. Den underlÀttar samtidigt pÄ mÄnga andra sÀtt som att det gÄr att se klockslag nÀr en elev lÀmnat in sin uppgift eller att uppgifter sparas i digital form vilket gör att de gÄr snabbt och enkelt att söka reda pÄ vid ett senare tillfÀlle.Metoden som anvÀnts var kvalitativa intervjuer med fem gymnasielÀrare pÄ en skola som ligger i framkant inom tekniken. Det som efterfrÄgats i intervjuerna var i huvudsak pÄ vilket sÀtt internet, mobiltelefoner, bÀrbara datorer och annan IT pÄverkat hur eleverna fuskar och hur lÀrarna hanterar detta.

The purpose of this study is to examine how adult students, studying at an upper secondary school for adults, search for information for their independent tasks in different subjects. These independent tasks are frequent in most subjects and are a part of the ?investigation-work?. For most adult students this is a new way of learning. Fifteen qualitative interviews with adult students have been conducted.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the lending of video games at the public libraries in Sweden. The thesis focused around a web survey, which was sent out to all public library directors, as its research material. The results were compared with those found in a master thesis by Olle Berg and Thomas Nyström from 2008. This was done to gain a better understanding of why the libraries provided video games. The other results of the survey were analyzed with a quantitative method.The results indicate that half of the responding libraries provide video games for borrowing.

This master?s thesis deals with the issue of children?s theatre at the public library. I want to examine what purpose children?s theatre play for the children according to the children?s librarians, what different factors that may influence the purchase of plays to the public library and what the children?s librarians think of the children?s theatre at the public library at present and in the future. Interviews have been conducted with four children?s librarians, at different libraries, who are somehow involved in the purchase of children?s plays to the library.

Denna uppsats handlar om integritetskÀnslig vÄrdinformation pÄ fakturor, ett Àmne som aktualiserats under mitt arbete pÄ landstingets kansli i Jönköping. NÀr en person fÄr vÄrd i annat lÀn Àn hemlandstinget sÄ skickas en faktura till hemlandstinget och innan dessa fakturor betalas mÄste de granskas och attesteras. Hanteringen kring detta upplevdes som tidsödande och ineffektiv, vilket ledde mig in pÄ funderingar kring elektronisk fakturering (e-fakturering). Eftersom fakturorna innehÄller integritetskÀnslig information, som personuppgifter och vissa uppgifter som gÄr att koppla till diagnos och behandling, Àr det inte bara viktigt att hanteringen blir effektiv utan ocksÄ att sekretessen kan upprÀtthÄllas under hela faktureringsprocessen.I denna undersökning studeras hur hanteringen av integritetskÀnslig vÄrdinformation pÄverkas om fakturahanteringen digitaliseras. Syftet Àr att göra en jÀmförelse avseende hantering av sekretess mellan pappersfakturor och digitala e-fakturor.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the library habits of young people, age 15 to 24. Our empirical data are gathered in a survey distributed to 104 young men and women at three different public libraries. The questions are about how young people use the public library, what media and services they use and whether or not they are content with what the public library can offer them. In our analysis we have compared our results to previous research and used a model by Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen to determine how they use the library.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to analyse how adult students in Swedish adult education seek information for school tasks. The focus is on how they use the public library and electronic information sources and their reflection on information and sources in this process. Also of interest in the study is the help they receive from staff in the public library and their teacher. Methods used in collecting and analysing data for this study were of qualitative nature.

The majority of managers of public libraries in Sweden also work as librarians on an operative level within the organisation. This thesis discusses how the manager role is affected by his/her specific assignments and multiple tasks. Seven public library managers, who work in districts with around 10 000 25 000 inhabitants, have been interviewed. They reflect upon their experience of leadership and different assignments. The main focus lies on: - leadership - communication - decision making - organisational development The interviews show some positive effects, the manager is present most of the time, has a great knowledge about everyday work and daily routines, and is also able to represent the library successfully in the local community.
