Trots att lÀroböcker i matematik har en viktig roll i undervisningen, sÄ finns det inte mycket forskning pÄ hur vÀl de uppfyller sin uppgift. Rapporter om lÀrobokens roll i skolan förekommer, dock oftast med en negativ klang. Forskning som vi har uppmÀrksammat tar upp att lÀroböckerna styr undervisning. Det nationella provet som utfördes för Ärskurs 3 2009, visade att eleverna har vissa brister i sina matematikkunskaper. Det stÄr i kursplanen för matematik att det Àr skolans uppgift att utveckla kunskaper som behövs i matematiken för att eleverna ska kunna fatta vÀlgrundade beslut i valsituationer (Skolverket, 2009-11-28).

The recent decades have been characterised by a trend where the public sector's been inspired by several methods and strategies from the private sector. The public library is in this case no exception. In this context there are different perspectives on whether or not this will lead to a dramatic change of the role and values of the traditional public library. The aim of this master's thesis is to make a contribution to a deeper understanding of the ideological conflicts within the Swedish public library and its relation to the market. In the literature of library and information science I have identified two separate discourses representing two contradictory systems of meaning concerning this relation.

Syftet med studien Àr att undersöka hur lÀrare uppfattar kreativitet i svenskÀmnet i Är 7-9. Vidare Àr syftet med studien att undersöka hur kreativitet pÄverkar lÀrarnas dagliga arbete samt diskutera konsekvenser av lÀrares syn pÄ kreativitet. Studien behandlar ocksÄ svensklÀrares syn pÄ kreativt lÀrande. Metod: För att samla in lÀrarnas Äsikter om kreativitet anvÀnder jag mig av fokusgruppsamtal. Fokusgruppsamtal med lÀrare pÄ tre olika skolor har utförts.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to explore the meaning of literature forliterate immigrants in regards to identity and integration. The study is based onqualitative interviews with eight Swedes of various backgrounds, but with thecommon experience of an immigration process. In addition to being migrants, therespondents are also public library users who have an interest in literature and whoread literature during their leisure time. To analyze the empirical material ananalytical framework, consisting of a number of analytical concepts from Libraryand Information Science, Literature Science, and Sociology, has been used.

My purpose with the study is to investigate if it is possible to argue in favor of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. To create a base to argue from I have studied UFO, a department focused on young adults at the age between 15 and 25 at the public library of Malmö. This case study, performed by investigating the documentation of UFO as well as conducting an interview with the project leader, is the base from which I then can argue for or against the idea of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. Public libraries should always reflect the communities they serve. This challenges the staff of different libraries in different regions to arrange their organizations accordingly to their local population and to be flexible enough to follow the changes of this population.

Studien genomfo?rdes som en litteraturstudie da?r 19 vetenskapliga artiklar granskades och analyserades.

Product development cycles become shorter and shorter. The time from idea to market has become an important competitive factor. Despite this, methods used for making the product development process faster are surrounded with uncertainty about their efficiency. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the pros and cons of ?best practice? methods for shortening lead times and how these methods effect the lead times in research and development.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate thephenomenon language café, an activity that is held in public libraries into which anyone is welcome who wants to practice their skills in Swedish, and see how this can be put in relation to integration. To reach the purpose we developed two research-questions; What does the language café fulfill for its participants? and How can the language café contribute to the promotion of integration? The study is based on semi-structured interviews with seven participants from language cafés. The theory used to analyze the results from the interviews is the Swedish sociologist José Alberto Diaz theory about the integration process which can be divided into seven dimensions. The findings of the thesis were that the language café can fill the function as a place to Speak Swedish, for Community-information, a place to meet and a place for trust and self-confidence.

Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva livskvalitet, sjÀlvrapporterad hÀlsa och social situation hos personer i Äldern 60-96 Är i Blekinge, som ger stöd/hjÀlp eller vÄrdar nÄgon nÀrstÄende, i jÀmförelse med mÀn och kvinnor som ej stödjer/ hjÀlper eller vÄrdar nÄgon nÀrstÄende. Metod: Uppgifter togs ur den nationella Àldrestudien SNAC - The Swedish National study on Aging and Care. I Blekinge fanns totalt insamlade uppgifter frÄn 1402 personer i Äldrarna 60- 96 Är och av dessa har vi jÀmfört 89 nÀrstÄendevÄrdare med 89 icke nÀrstÄendevÄrdare.

Jeanine Basingers bok The World War II Combat Film presenterar en annars vÀldigt oupmÀrksammad genre, den amerikanska Andra VÀrldskrigs-stridsfilmen. UtifrÄn den mall som Basinger beskriver i boken har jag hÀr diskuterat och analyserat hur Saving Private Ryan hÄller sig till mallen som skapats av tidigare stridsfilmer. Mallen bestÄr i korthet av en mÀngd element som anvÀnds genomgÄende i genren; sÄsom gruppen, hjÀlten, mÄlet och fienden. Dessa element förekommer frÄn den första andra vÀrldskrigs-stridsfilmen Bataan frÄn 1943 och har konsoliderats och utvecklats sedan dess. Slutsatsen blir att Àven om SPR blivit kÀnd som en nydanande och orginell film sÄ Àr hÄller den sig nÀstan slaviskt till mallen, det enda som möjligt kan skilja den lite frÄn andra filmer i genren Àr det ursprungliga mÄlet, det Àr inte vanligt att ha ett sÄpass politiskt inkorrekt mÄl som att rÀdda en enda man..

The aim of this study is to examine the roles of the children?s librarian in a reading aloud context. To reach understanding in this subject, we have conducted interviews with four Swedish librarians working in public libraries whom are involved with reading aloud practices. Previous research shows that the reasons for reading aloud in libraries are diverse and plentiful. Such reasons can be to spread cultural experiences, help children develop their language skills and promote the library to the public.

The aim of this masters thesis is to examine how some childrens librarians in public libraries reason about Wahlströms series books. During the 1970s, there was a discussion about the series books, and the general meaning was, among other things, that the books should not be available at libraries. Therefore, we also want to study if the arguments for and against the series books presented today are any different than those presented in the 1970s. For this examination, two methods have been used. We have done qualitative interviews with nine childrens librarians, and in order to find the arguments presented in the 1970s, we have studied the literature regarding the mentioned discussion.

The object of this paper is to examine the marketing of PUNKTmedis, a youth library. In order to do so we have looked at two different perspectives; how the library has marketed itself towards its target group, and how young people perceive what PUNKTmedis has to offer. The thesis? foundation is a case study. Since the question at hand concerns the library?s intentions with and execution of its marketing efforts, as well as the target group?s opinion of them, the empirical data is based partially on an interview with the head of marketing at PUNKTmedis, and partially on a target group questionnaire.

Syftet med detta examensarbete Àr att ta reda pÄ vad elever tycker om ett praktiskt och laborativt arbetssÀtt under matematiklektionerna. I Lpo 94 stÄr att skolan skall ge eleven möjlighet att utveckla en nyfikenhet och sitt eget sÀtt att lÀra. Eleven skall ocksÄ ges möjlighet att utforska och arbeta sÄvÀl sjÀlvstÀndigt som i grupp. Som teoretisk utgÄngspunkt har jag dels valt Dewey, dels ett sociokulturellt perspektiv pÄ lÀrande. Dewey menar, och mÄnga med honom, att kunskap befÀsts bÀst dÄ handen fÄr arbeta tillsammans med ögat.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how libraries market themselves in social media and why they do it. I have studied a certain public library?s process of introducing social media into its marketing mix, the preparations for this process and the effects of these marketing methods.The theoretical framework for this thesis is based on relationship marketing, a theory which focuses on relationships, networks and interaction. My main method has been semi-structured interviews with a librarian at the relevant library, with the manager of the library and with the head of the municipality?s department of communication.The results of my studies show that marketing on social media is a positive and important thing for libraries.
