As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

Compressed air is an energy source that is widely used in today's trucks and buses.Compressor located next to the engine supplies the pneumatic system with the compressed air and is lubricated with the engine oil. Some of the oil follows the air flow in both liquid and solid phase. The solid phase, namely the carbon particles are created due to the high temperature in the compression chamber.Oil- and particles carryover softens and destroys the rubber material in the air valves and disturbs the mechanical function of various components in the pneumatic system. In order to reduce oil- and particles carryover is an Air Processing System (APS) set downstream the compressor.No method for establishment of oil- and particles carryover from the compressor exists at the moment. Therefore the filtration efficiency of APS is currently unknown.

Syftet med projektet är att, genom simulering,reproducera oscillationer i avfyrningsfrekvensen omkring 80 Hz för neuroner i hjärnan hos parkinsonssjuka råttor som behandlatsmed Levodopa.[1] Med hjälp av ett programpaket, Brian, speciellt framtaget för att simulera neuronnätverk simulerasinhiberande och exciterande leakyintegrate-and-fire-neuroner med synapsdynamik som beskrivs av fördröjning, stigtidoch falltid. Flera av rapportens resultat visar oscillationer i avfyrningsfrekvens vid 80 Hz för olika parameterkombinationer. Korrelation mellan neuroner och avfyrningsfrekvens för neuronnätverket visar attnätverkets avfyrning är periodisk och sparse. Slutsatsen är att olika faktorer som påverkar nätverkets oscillation är beroende av varandra, vilket gör det svårt att analyserasystemet..

Med ökad fokus på miljöpåverkan och bränsleekonomi vill Volvo Construction Equipment öka verkningsgraden på sina anläggningsmaskiner. På avdelningen för drivlineutveckling jobbar man bland annat med att sänka förlusterna i växellåda och hjulaxel på hjullastare och dumper. För att underlätta detta arbete har en simuleringsmodell som beskriver förluster i hjulaxlar tagits fram. This report describes an analysis of WebGL together with JavaScript with the aim to examine its limitations, strengths and weaknesses. This analysis was performed by building a 2D game engine containing some dynamic elements such as water, smoke, fire, light, and more. Different algorithms have been tested and analyzed to provide a clearer picture of how these work together. The report will go through the most basic functions of the game engine and describe briefly how these work.The result shows that JavaScript with WebGL can be considered to be a potent toolsets, despite the difficulties caused by JavaScript.In summary, similar projects can be recommended as Javascript and WebGL proved both fun and incredibly rewarding to work with..

Since 1993 the Swedish Forestry Administration conducts a nation-wide inventory of wood-land key habitats covering all forest land in Sweden. The inventory aims at mapping and describing habitats where redlisted species occur or can be expected to occur.
