Varumärkesbyggande i kreativa näringar: en fallstudie på festivaler

The purpose of this thesis was to illuminate how Festivals are building their brand. We aimed to investigate how Festivals build their brand equity and how they use their web site as a brand-building tool. In order to understand the brand-building process within Festivals, a case study was conducted based on interviews with three respondents from three different Festivals. The study has shown that Festivals are aware that the brand constitutes an important competitive advantage. They use both online and offline marketing tools in their brand building process.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how events can be successful and stay competitive.Festivals are a big part of the event world and it can be difficult to understand why certainFestivals are successful and others not. In this paper we have conducted a comparison betweentwo major Festivals in Stockholm. Both of them reached success, but nevertheless one of themfailed, while the other one is still successful. With this comparison, it appeared that there aremany aspects that help a festival to reach success but also factors that can make a festival afailure. To conduct this study, a number of interviews have been carried through; these havelater been put in relation to different theories about Festivals.

Mash It Up! : En studie av musikfestivalers digitala marknadsföring och dess framtidsutsikter

The purpose of this study is to analyze and understand how music Festivals in Sweden are marketed today and the changes that will and may occur in the future. Music Festivals are a common phenomenon in Sweden today and since most of them only are arranged once a year it gives the marketing of them a special character. Therefore I find it interesting to look at how the development of the Internet will change the marketing of music Festivals. This study is based on a qualitative method where I have performed eight interviews with people who have given me their thoughts about this subject. The gathered material and my conclusions of this study are presented in chapter 4 and 5 and for further knowledge about this I recommend you to take a closer look at those chapters..

Högtider och traditioner i förskolan : en kvalitativ studie om fem förskollärares beskrivningar och reflektioner kring firandet av högtider och traditoner i förskolan

This study is about the work around Festivals and traditions that takes place in multicultural preschools. The purpose of this study is to describe and reflect upon the work around Festivals and traditions in multicultural preschools from the view of five preschool teachers who are active in their profession.  The purpose is also to investigate which Festivals and traditions that are given attention at preschool and for what reason according to the preschool teachers.The method of research chosen in this study is qualitative in the form of individual interviews with the intention of obtaining and interpreting the descriptions and reflections of the informants around the subject. The results will be analyzed from an intercultural perspective.The results show that all investigated preschools celebrate the traditional Swedish Festivals Christmas, St. Lucia?s day, Easter and Midsummer, and that these Festivals take up lots of space in terms of time and labor.

The purpose of this study is to examine what characterizes brand identity and positioning regarding Festivals on the current Swedish festival market. In relation to our purpose we are also going to analyze how festival attendees relate to a Festivals brand identity. Our research question is as follows:What characterizes Festivals brand identity and positioning on the current Swedish festival market?This study has been written with a qualitative research method and an inductive approach. Our empirical foundation is built on a rich content based on personal interviews.

Judiska högtider i tre läroböcker En jämförande analys av hur judiska högtider framställs i tre läroböcker avsedda för Religionskunskap 1 på gymnasiet

The purpose of the study is to analyse the representations of Jewish Festivals and how they affect the teaching in three textbooks for Religious Education 1 in Secondary Upper Education. The textbooks are Religion och livet (2007) written by Börge Ring, Religionskunskap för gymnasiet (2009) written by Lars-Göran Alm and Religion 1 för gymnasiet (2012) written by Lennart Göth, Katarina Lycken Rüter and Veronica Wirström. The basis for the study is the phenomenological perspective as described by Émile Durkheim and in particular Carl-Henrik Grenholm and Karl-Johan Illman. It tells that religion cannot purely be understood as a religious belief without its rituals. This phenomenological perspective on religion both the curriculum and syllabus encourages.

Hit och tillbaka : En studie om vägvisning på evenemang med fokus på Siestafestivalen.

Back and forth is a study on wayshowing at events focusing on the Siesta festivalin Hässleholm. The bordoon movement gathered a couple of days in the summer at what they called the ?Korrö bordunstämma? to build instruments and play folk music.

This paper investigates strategic opportunities for film Festivals in a digital film business, with emphasis on Göteborg international film festival and the Swedish film industry. Using a theoretical framework of strategy analysis, the film value chain is examined with special regards to disruptive technology, and the film festival's unique resources are linked to industry structure. It is shown that relationships between actors and across sectors are crucial features of the film industry, and hence a network perspective is added to the theoretical framework. Barriers to entry are shown to be relatively low in all sectors except the cinema market, and it is proposed that film festival's could expand into digital distribution, taking advantage of brand strength, customer loyalty and knowledge of industry. The study adds to the mounting research on film festival practice and its significance for marketing and distribution in the film industry, and highlights the emergence of strategic openings in destabilized networks..

Festivalturismens inverkan på destination och attraktion : En studie kring Storsjöyrans påverkan på Östersund

This essay will examine in which way festival tourism can affect the physical location of a festival and to operationalize this we implemented a case study of the music festival Storsjöyran. Storsjöyran is a Swedish music festival held annually in the city of Östersund and since the festival, with the accompanying festival week, attract up to 300 000 visitors annually, we wanted to see what impact the festival contributed to from a development perspective of the destination. The method for gathering data has consisted of both qualitative and quantitative approaches and the data was collected via interviews and questionnaires. We also presented various theories about festival tourism and destination development, as well as previous research on urban Festivals. The conclusion is that Storsjöyran contributes to a variety of factors which can help Östersund to a destination development and increased tourism.

Advent i waldorfförskolan

Detta är en etnografisk studie i hur adventstiden gestaltas i waldorfförskolan. Syftet är att undersöka hur innebörden i advent tolkas och förmedlas till barngruppen av olika waldorfpedagoger. I waldorfförskolan grundar sig verksamheten på årsrytmen och de högtider och fester som följer den. En övergripande fråga i studien är hur dessa högtider och fester gestaltas i waldorfförskolan när barngruppen representeras av olika religioner och kulturer. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med waldorfpedagoger, litteraturstudier samt observationer av sedvänjor och artefakter.

: Uchinaa-yamatoguchi, wakaibiimi? En studie i den yngre generationens kunskap kring den egna dialekten på Okinawa, Japan.

This essay investigates the relation between ?usage? and ?hearing? of dialectal words and expressions in the Ryukyu islands, Japan, in this case words and expressions from a mix of Ryukyuan and standard Japanese, so called uchinaa-yamatoguchi. A survey was conducted and in the questionnaires the respondents were asked to fill in the degree of usage and hearing of each word and expression, consisting of three alternatives each; use often, use seldom and never used - hear often, hear seldom and never heard.My findings show a stable pattern in the relation between usage and hearing, where the usage is relatively low compared to hearing in almost every case. Among the most frequently used ones, one could find words and expressions connected to food, Festivals, type of person, adjectives, adverb and animals etc..

Festival - mer än bara musik : En studie kring vad ideella festivaler får för betydelse i dess kommuner och hur bilden av festivaler har utvecklats i Sverige

I denna C-uppsats har vi undersökt hur ideella arrangemang av svenska festivaler går till. Vi har valt ut Hultsfredsfestivalen i Hultsfredskommun och Skogsröjet i Finspångskommun för att kunna analysera debatten kring festivaler i det lokala och nationella medianätverken samt även hur samarbetet mellan kommun och festival har utvecklats. Vi utgick från teorier av Andy Bennett där han diskuterar vikten av festivaler kopplat till ungdomskultur och att en festival är så mycket mer än bara en plats att lyssna på musik, som även stöttades upp av andra teorier av bland annat Kirstie Jamieson. Vi genomförde en analys och jämförde de teorier vi utgick ifrån med den historiska utvecklingen av festivalerna, för att sedan kunna se vad festivalerna har bidragit till i respektive ort som de äger rum på. En fråga som vi har utgått ifrån är om festivaler har utvecklats till den grad att de idag kan ses som kulturarv.
