The objective with this essay was to compare the modern epistolary novel Priority by danish author Iselin C. Hermann with the epistolary genre during its heyday in late seventeenth to early nineteenth century. I especially looked at gender: the similarities and differences between the female character in Priority and the female characters during the epistolary novels days of glory. I concluded that Priority has the same structure, characteristics as the heyday epistolary novel and that the female character does not have any typical similarities with its stereotypical female characters. In addition I also came to the conclusion that she is reminiscent to their original model Héloïse and follows the epistolary novels heyday convention when she dies at the end of the novel..

Since Muhammad Yunus, founder of the microloansorganization Grameen Bank, was awardedthe Nobel Peace Prize in 2006, the microloansorganization has received much attention. Thewoman has come to play a central role in the microloansorganizations. Her access to capital isis considered to improve her socioeconomic status. The overall aim of the paper is to examinehow access to microcredit considered leading to empowerment of women. To get an idea ofwhat a microloansorganization is the Grameen Bank is used as an example.

The objective of this qualitative study was to contribute to the understanding of how musical activities affect the participants' well-being and empowerment and to investigate which fac-tors contribute to that effect. Invitations were sent to 13 adult participants in a rock music school in the middle part of Sweden. 7 persons (4 men, 3 women) participated in the study. 4 themes were discussed in focus groups to highlight how informants were affected by the ac-tivity and what factors were important in the context. Results showed that music activities impact on participants' well-being and empowerment through several factors.Themes that appeared were: 1) focus on the present through music, 2) personal development, 3) meaningful leisure activity 4) the group properties.

The reason for this can be because men and women to a certain degree conduct leadership differently. From an early age kids learn that their good performance and efforts will be rewarded. Unfortunately, not all leaders in the media industry are rewarded or given the same opportunities to exercise their communicative leadership, according to studies in media research. The aim of our study is to highlight female managers' experiences of their communicative leadership in the Swe-dish media industry. This study was based on qualitative interviews with four female respondents in management positions. The core of the study concerns female communicative leadership and interpersonal communication.

This essay shows how the concept of virtue can deepen our understanding considering processes of empowerment. A virtue is understood as a trait of character, manifested in habitual action, that it is good for person a to have. Virtues are interpreted as socially constructed. Empowerment is presented as a process toward self-confidence and self-determination where recourses and freedom propels the development toward power for the individual, the household and the community. Why does the concept of virtue deepen our understanding? It is argued that our theoretical perceptive of empowerment needs to better encompass values, norms and practise.

Empowerment och ett patientcentrerat förhållningssätt är i högsta grad aktuellt eftersom det idag läggs ett allt större ansvar på patienterna vad gäller delaktighet i utformandet av den egna vården och omvårdnaden. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är därmed att undersöka empowerment och ett patient centrerat förhållningssätt i mötet mellan sjuksköterskor och patienter. Fokus ligger på hur sjuksköterskorna ser på detta förhållningssätt i sitt arbete med patienterna samt vilka erfarenheter patienterna har av empowerment och ett patientcentrerat förhållningssätt i relationen till sjuksköterskorna. Metoden i denna systematiska litteraturstudie är baserad på Goodmans sju steg för hur en systematisk litteraturstudie ska genomföras. Resultatet är baserat på tio vetenskapliga artiklar. Utifrån resultatet i dessa artiklar framträder två kategorier i form av maktfördelning och samarbete samt maktobalans och envägskommunikation.

The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate the participants experiences of a parent support group and the effect of their participation on their parental role from a learning perspective. As the parent support group takes place as a group activity, the focus was on the individual learning processes which, in turn, are influenced by both the group itself as well as the leaders of the group. The empirical data was collected from a focus group interview with four mothers, and analyzed using empowerment and coping theories. Based on the participants´ narratives, the result showed that the parent support group had a great social and pedagogic effect on the participants. As a result of the received knowledge in the group from both leaders as well as from other participants, they felt less stressed and more confident in their parental role.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om lagen om introduktionsersättning ger möjligheter till ökat självbestämmande och därmed en ökad grad av empowerment för den enskilde flyk-tingen, sett ur ett socialarbetarperspektiv. Uppsatsen börjar med en beskrivning det arbete som legat till grund för lagen om introduktionsersättning för flyktingar och vissa andra utlänning-ar. Här redovisas även definitionen av vem som ses som en flykting och några korta bestånds-delar i Svensk flyktingpolitik. The purpose of this paper is to make a feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.

The purpose of this work is to find out what female students think about Skogsmästarprogrammet (Forest Management ? Bachelor?s Programme) at the Swedish University of Agriculture. The programme has existed since 1945 and in total over the years 1974 - 2007 about 10 % females have been studying at the programme. Today 15 % of the students are women, and the goal is to reach at least 30 %. The central question in the present work is to investigate how it is possible to increase the proportion of women.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor inom äldreomsorgen skattar sin arbetssituation utifrån strukturell- och psykologisk empowerment, arbetstillfredsställelse, upplevd hälsa, vårdkvalitet samt chefs- och ledarskap. Vidare var syftet att studera skillnader och samband mellan ovan nämnda faktorer utifrån subgruppers (ålder, yrkesverksamma år, heltid/deltidsarbete och uttag av kompetensutvecklingsdagar) skattningar. Under 2011 ? 2012 besvarades fyra standardiserade frågeformulär av 79 äldrevårdssjuksköterskor i fem kommuner i Mellansverige. Resultatet visade att sjuksköterskor som var 50 år eller yngre upplevde att de fick mer kritik än äldre sjuksköterskor.

Background: There has been a process of de-institutionalisation and mental health care re-forms in Sweden. Social services are, according to the law, responsible for helping persons with mental illness to live a life like others and to participate in the community. The aim of the study was to describe the culture in one of the social services adult day care center for social relations and activities in Stockholm. The aim was also to focus on the importance of the adult day care center for recovery and empowerment from the participants´ perspective. Methods Observations in the adult day care center were combined with four interviews with regular participants.
