Lean Product Development is a knowledge-based business concept in order to maintain high quality, meetcustomer requirements and to make product development more efficient. An important part of the processis to add a lot of resources at an early stage and execute the development as an iterative process betweendepartments exploring many alternatives thoroughly. The work focuses on how Lean ProductDevelopment is carried out and explores how to manage interaction between different departments andexpertise with regard to cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing i.e. learning.The information for the studies was gathered at a major Swedish company from two projects. The projectswere carried out as cross-functional and possible key factors for cross-functional collaboration wasidentified.The results have been correlated with theories of Lean, Product development, Lean product developmentand Learning.

The Volvo Trucks plant in Umeå is a highy complex manufacturing facility where the same production line handles a variety of different models. This require flexible and agile processes with high quality standards. This thesis studies the flow of material through a production line and how Volvo can use their existing manufacturing monitoring system to optimize the flow of materials.The goal with the thesis is to identify eventual problems with the flow of materials and to deliver a few proposals on how the production line can improve its productivity. The theory of LEAN, Just-In-Time and Supply Chain Management serves as the scientific reference to this project. By analyzing the flow of material, performing interviews and observing the processes a few problems are identified.

Kostnaden för nyproduktion av hus i Sverige har ökat markant under de senaste åren. Byggföretag har svårt att hålla både projektens löptid och kostnader nere, vilket resulterat i ett ökat marknadspris och ett växande missnöje bland slutkunder. De ökade kostnaderna beror enligt forskning på vanligt förekommande slöseri i form av såväl material som arbetskraft. I försöken att eliminera slöseri har många företag anpassat sin verksamhet efter Lean Thinking, ett system som härstammar från den japanska bilindustrin, bestående av verktyg och metoder med huvudsyfte att identifiera och eliminera slöseri. Ur detta har även nya former av byggnation fångat marknadens intresse.

Bakgrund: Under de senaste decennierna har den offentliga svenska sjukvården genomgått stora förändringar. Ett av de begrepp som implementeras är Lean Healthcare. Begreppet bör ses som en filosofi och strategi. Verksamhetsstyrningen bör anpassas efter vald stra-tegi, som exempelvis Lean Healthcare. Det finns dock inte en universell metod för hur styrningen bör anpassas efter Lean Healthcare, utan styrningen bör vara individuellt anpas-sad.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att genom att studera sex sjukhus utreda hur sjukhusens verksamhetsstyrning stödjer strategin Lean Healthcare.Metod: Vi uppfyllde vårt syfte genom att göra en multipel fallstudie på sex sjukhus tillhö-rande två landsting, Skåne och Jönköping Vi har intervjuat personer med olika befattningar på sjukhusen för att skapa oss en uppfattning om hur Lean Healthcare stöds i sjukhusens verksamhetsstyrning.

ABB Capacitors Ludvika started their LEAN-project in november 2010, but still has not the whole factory been introduced to the LEAN-tool called 5S. 5S is only implemented on the ?easiest? work-areas.By implementing 5S, at the workingstation called inburkningen, would make the workstation and the area around it much more structured, clean and systematized. The operators are a little bit skeptical to the work that includes continuous improvement today, because they can not see any progresses. If 5S were implememted the operators would be able to avoid searching for tools because with 5S, each tool will have a specified place at the workstation.5S would simplify the cooperation between the shifts, because 5S includes clear instructions for how the workstations will be cleaned after each shift.This report will include my recommendations, thoughts and opinions regarding however ABB Capacitors Ludvika should implement or not implement the LEAN-tool 5S.

The public service within health and care has changed remarkably during the last 30 years. It has been inspired by management ideas from profit-making businesses. Those thoughts are an umbrella term called Nex public management. In what way has New public management influenced the public service in Sweden? Important concepts in the change of public service are quality, effektivity and goals.

Bakgrund Lean är en managementmetod från privata näringslivet med ursprung från Toyotas bilproduktion i Japan och är både en filosofi om ständiga förbättringar mot perfektion och en metodik. Allt fler offentliga organisationer väljer att ta till sig Lean-modellen varför forskning inom området är ett aktuellt ämne.SyfteSyftet med denna uppsats är att besvara tre frågor:1. Varför väljer vissa kommuner/verksamheter att tillämpa Lean?2. Hur implementeras Lean, och i vilken grad sker anpassningen till lokala förutsättningar?3. Finns det några faror förbundna med Lean?MetodFörutom vetenskaplig litteratur har fallstudier bedrivits vid två offentliga verksamheter som arbetar med Lean; Äldreomsorgen inom Vara Kommun och synverksamheten i Borås vid Västra Götalandsregionen. Intervjuer, tolkning av dokument och observationer har använts.ResultatVald teori för uppsatsen visar att de bakomliggande skälen för politiker och makthavare att införa Lean kanske mera handlar om att erbjuda verksamheten ett skyltfönster av framgång (Legitimitet!) än att ta i tu med utmaningarna i verksamheten. En annan bidragande orsak till att införa Lean kan vara den omvända bevisbördan ? att en organisation som inte har Lean får förklara varför man inte har det.Det finns risker med Lean.

This study is about to see whether the two models representing the strategies of lean production is to use and apply in different companies. The models are structured in two different ways in which one of them is checking the softer elements of lean production in the form of leadership and strategies. This model is called Lesat and is based on interviewquestions. The second model, called "learning to see" is about identifying flows. This, together shall then give an idea of how mature companies are when it comes to a whole in the concept of lean production, and susceptibility to use these models to their respective companies. The study is conducted in two companies, SKF couplings systems and AQ parkoprint.

Inledning: Resursproblemen inom vården ökar genom att behandlingar och mediciner blir dyrare, andelen äldre blir fler och för att möta dessa problem måste vården bli effektivare. Utbildningar inom förbättringsarbete är på framtåg och Lean Production blir alltmer populärt. Bakgrund: Redan på 1800-talet tog Florence Nightingale upp betydelsen av en säker och god vård. Styrdokument som lagar och riktlinjer beskriver att sjuksköterskan kontinuerligt ska arbeta med att förbättra och skapa kvalitet på vården. Verksamheter som använder sig av Lean Production har visat sig kunna förbättra kvalitet och genom värdeflödeskarta kan värdeskapande steg för patienten identifieras och icke värdeskapande plockas bort.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa forskning och litteratur kring Lean Production utifrån två vetenskapliga synsätt. Studien syftar även till att undersöka en organisations införande av och arbete med Lean Production, för att kunna ge praktiska bidrag om hur detta arbete kan fortskrida.Metod: Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ och öppen ansats inom ramen för en fallstudie i samarbete med Sandvik Materials Technology. Empiriskt material har samlats in genom intervjuer och observationer med och av operatörer, produktionsledning och stabspersonal. En omfattande analys av litteratur och forskning kring Lean Production har legat till grund för en teoretisk referensram.Resultat & slutsats: Belysningen av Lean Production visar att systemsynsättet beskriver konceptet som ett säkert recept för framgång, trots sin förenklade syn på organisationers påverkan av omvärldsförändringar. Det socialkonstruktivistiska synsättet visar att Lean Production har en legitimerande funktion i organisationer, men ger liten kunskap om de förändringar som sker i organisationer.

Denna utvärdering ämnar svara på om arbetssättet Lean har minskat stressen, ökat stödet och ökat effektiviteten hos medarbetarna i en enhet hos Försäkringskassan. En webenkät har använts för att samla in den empiri som har analyserats. Slutsatserna visar på att medarbetarna anser att Lean i begränsad utsträckning har minskat stressen, delvis ökat stödet i deras arbete och i mindre utsträckning ökat deras effektivitet..

Service Design is a relatively new, unexplored and exciting phenomenon that through an interdisciplinary work methodology designs services. A discussion has been going on for a long time regarding whether there is a difference between products and services. Services are often classified as immaterial, heterogeneous, non-storable and inseparable in relation to products. A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.

Swedish healthcare is in continuous need of cost savings and efficiency improvements in order to meet the increased demand for care. The theories of lean, developed from the industry, are applied more frequently on healthcare systems to increase effectiveness and reduce waiting times in patient processes. However, some processes seem to be more successful in their lean implementation than others. In this thesis, factors influencing flow efficiency in lean healthcare are examined. Through interviews with the top executive board at Capio St Göran's hospital, data is collected in order to analyze reasons for success.
