Syfte: Syftet var att unders?ka sjuksk?terskors upplevelser av att v?rda patienter med misst?nkt sepsis.

This Master of Science Thesis was a complement project to the PIEp study MENTOL, carried out at a Swedish midsize medical device company.. PIEp nationally works for a long-term increase of the innovation capability of people and organizations. The purpose of this study was to find measuring parameters of innovation that fit medium-sized technological companies and organizations, Another purpose was to evaluate an innovation investment at the company, consisting of external consultant?s education of key personnel in innovation, and a two day innovation seminar with all personnel at the company participating. The methods used during this Master of Science Thesis were: feasibility and literature studies about innovation and innovation measurements, quantitative and qualitative interviews, surveys and workshops.For an accurate measure of innovation it is crucial to a have full understanding of what innovation is, and clarity of the purpose of the measurement itself.

Uppsala University is involved in a large international collaborationto build the Laser heater system for the European Xray Free-electronlaser in Hamburg, Germany. In this thesis I describe a laser incouplingdevice into the vacuum chamber of this laser heater all the way fromthe specifications to a completed design.The laser heater is a very important part of the XFEL and thepart described here is a part of the vacuum system needed to couplean external laser into the electron vacuum system and align it withthe electron bunches in order to heat them. The task was started by studying the literature about the basic theory andthe design of vacuum systems. After this study and collection of ideaswith colleagues I started to prepare different concepts to solve thetask. The ideas can be put into two categories, in one case the couplingmirror is located inside the vacuum chamber and in the second caseoutside.

The objective of this thesis was to investigate what influence nature conservation measures taken at regeneration felling. Factors analysed were the forest owners´ situation and their characters, and information activities from wood-suppliers and the Regional Forest Board (RFB). The inventory was performed with a posted questionnaire followed up by telephone to forest owners and a posted questionnaire to wood-buyers. The forest owners were grouped in three strata, depending on the quality results (D- polytax inventory) of the taken forest conservation measures, and for this investigation forest owners were sampled from the population in the tree groups. In total 73 % (41/56) of the sampled forest owners answered the questionnaire Group A (17 answers): Good judgement Group B (19 answers): Bad judgement Group C (5 answers): This group was formed from the forest owners that were informed, by RFB, about nature conservation measures and culture history consideration before the regeneration cutting.

Bakgrunden till undersökningen är att arbetsplatsen är en viktig arena att arbeta hälsofrämjande på, eftersom en stor del av befolkningen nås via denna och olika hälsobeteenden kan påverkas innan ohälsa uppstår. En framgångsrik strategi för att skapa hälsosammare arbetsplatser är att arbeta med friskvård. Om människor ska kunna leva hälsosamt krävs att de får möjlighet att göra det även på arbetsplatsen, då hälsa bör ses ur ett helhetsperspektiv. EduTainer har utarbetat en metod för att arbeta med friskvård på företag. Ett företag som arbetat efter denna metod, med gott resultat, är Måleriproduktion AB.

The aim of the study was to gain a deeper understanding of the expectations that assistant nurses in the elderly care have on unit manager's leadership and the consequences if the expectations are not met. To answer the purpose of this paper a qualitative research was conducted with interviews with six assistant nurses in municipal elderly care. To analyze the empirical material communication were used as a theoretical concept. Communication includes codes, signals and messages to be interpreted by the parties in a conversation and they can be both verbal and nonverbal. This means that communication is complicated and can cause confusion if it is interpreted wrong.

SammanfattningBakgrund: Första gången två personer möts är de främlingar för varandra.Möten innebär samspel mellan de människor som berörs. Mötet styrs averfarenheter, förväntningar och tolkningar av situationen. Genom att bekräfta,acceptera och vara tillmötesgående närmar sig parterna varandra vilket kanleda till öppenhet och bättre kontakt.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva patienternas behov ochförväntningar i mötet med distriktssköterskan i hemsjukvården.Metod: Studien utfördes med en kvalitativ ansats. Åtta patienter medhemsjukvård intervjuades enskilt i sina hem. Narrativ intervju användes.Materialet analyserades sedan utifrån Lundman och Graneheims kvalitativainnehållsanalys.Resultat: Två teman framkom, Att få känna sig som en värdefull människapå sina egna villkor samt Att få medicinsk vård av en kompetentdistriktssköterska.

Christendom has under a long period of time in Swedish history been the central component in legitimating the monarchs' power, a continuous process than can be clearly observed through the customs of royal coronation and baptism rites. However, during the 20th century those close ties between the state and the church of Sweden have been dissolving at a steady rate, alongside a growing societal democratization and modernization process. Officially the monarch still had a clear constitutional power legitimated through the transcendent, but unofficially his power was in reality heavily reduced. How do the Swedish monarchy relate to a rapidly changing society and secularization process? This pilot study investigates this relation by analyzing the news reports of the royal coronation and baptism rites between 1858 and 2012 from two leading newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter.

Purpose/Aim: The purpose of this paper is to describe how a number of strategically selected employees at the Swedish Institute, with the purpose to promote Sweden in the world, look at the challenges facing Sweden concerning nation branding in the new era of cooperation within the European Union. I examine how these people look upon the work of public diplomacy and nation branding in order to actively participate and influence the EU's common communications platform.Material/Method: The method used in this thesis is qualitative interviews. The reason why I chose this method is because I consider it to be the most appropriate in order to collect information about how these selected employees at the Swedish institute regard the challenges that lay ahead in terms of nation branding within the European Union.Main results: On the basis of the results I have gained by dint of the analysis, it can be concluded that it is of utmost importance to take the societal changes, which are a result both of the worldwide globalization and the EU cooperation, into consideration when designing a future communication strategy for the Swedish Institute. The nation-state continues to play an important role in Sweden, but its importance is declining as the EU cooperation is progressing. The citizens? identity plays a crucial role in designing a nation?s communications strategy, and from the analysis I conclude that we move not from a Swedish to a European identity, but towards a pluralistic union where multiple identities meet under one umbrella; the EU..

SAMMANFATTNINGBarns preoperativa oro kan leda till saker så som negativa beteenden, minskat samarbete vid induktion samt längre postoperativ återhämtning.SyfteAtt studera effekter av omvårdnadsåtgärder som används för att minska preoperativ oro hos barn.MetodLitteraturöversikt med artiklar sökta i databaserna Pubmed/Medline och Cinahl. De 20 studierna till översikten är publicerade mellan 1998-2012 och är RCT. Studierna är kvalitetsgranskade med hjälp av en mall från SBU.ResultatDet finns flera omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan vara till hjälp för att minska barns preoperativa oro och negativa beteenden samt förbättra deras förmåga till att samarbeta i samband med en operation. Dessa inkluderar preoperativa åtgärder, lekterapi, olika typer av distraktioner samt ändrad miljö på operationsavdelningen. Miljön ändrades till mer barnanpassade utrymmen samt minskat stimuli på operationssal.

Mellan skolverkets regler samt Sveriges lag- ordningar har skolinspektionen under en kvalitetsgranskning (2010) påträffat brister i rektorers arbete i Sverigesgrundskolor. I en annan kvalitetsundersökning under samma år framgick det även att trakasserierna i skolor har ökat (Skolinspektionen, 2010). I denna kandidatuppsats vill vi åstadkomma en bättre förståelse kring rektorers hantering av konflikter inom grundskolan. Vi har klättrat uppåt i kedjan nämligen rektorernas områdeschefer samt hur de i sin tur hanterar vidare information från rektorn om konflikter på skolan. Skolverket utgör också en del i den kedja av händelser nämligen att det är skolverket som är ansvariga för att meddela rektorer om vilka ändringar som har gjorts i form av lagar, olika planer mm.

The objective of the master thesis is to analyze how future business administrators relate to discriminatory structures during their period of studies. Eight students studying business administration have been interviewed. The empirical material is analyzed with theories from the field of research of Critical Whiteness Studies and Feminist Organization Theory. The theories are chosen from a Situated Knowledge perspective. It turns out that the interviewed students have a conception of an ideal student who studies business administration.

The purpose of this study is twofold: First, to inquire how the George W. Bush administration plans to keep America safe from external threats and second ? based on the assumption that neoconservatives have influenced the Bush administration ? examine how neoconservative ideas have influenced this strategy to protect America. The research questions are as follows:What is the content of the Bush administration?s security strategy?How are neoconservative ideas reflected in this security strategy?To answer the first question, the main points of two studied documents were summarized.

En person som blir utsatt för ett frihetsberövande på grund av misstanke om brott är berättigad till ersättning från staten om hen sedermera inte blir dömd. Enligt frihetsberövandelagen kan sådan ersättning omfatta kostnader för utgifter, förlorad arbetsförtjänst, intrång i näringsverksamhet och lidande. Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och utreda hur lidandet ersätts av JK och staten samt vilka faktorer som kan påverka lidandet för den felaktigt frihetsberövade personen. För att klargöra vad som faktiskt anses påverka lidande har förarbetena till lagen samt ett flertal olika JK-avgöranden och domstolsavgöranden studerats. Ersättning för en persons lidande utgår med ett normalbelopp enligt en intern mall hos JK, som baseras på en förutbestämd summa pengar per månad.

År 2000 skrev Christina Petterson och Robert Sevenius en mycket informativ och intressant artikel om due diligence. Detta tidsdokument beskrev hur processen, due diligence, genomfördes och tittade även på trender som präglade utvecklingen. Sex år senare har vi genom kvalitativa interjuver försökt bilda oss en uppfattning om hur pass mycket due diligence har utvecklats sedan artikeln skrevs. Det vi har tittat närmare på är de påståenden som artikeln gjorde om due diligence, som det såg ut då. Vi har även försökt besvara vår huvudfråga som behandlar huruvida processen har blivit allt mer standardiserad eller ej.
