The purpose of this study has been to explore definitions of violence performed in the name of honor, and the conditions under which the phenomenon occurs and is upheld. Furthermore, the study aimed at exploring how the Swedish expression for violence in the name of honor, ?hedersrelaterat våld?, is used within the Swedish media. To achieve these purposes, previous research in this matter was reviewed, as well as an analysis by means of categorizing the content of news articles from two Swedish daily newspapers. Previous research has showed that this type of violence occurs foremost within cultures upholding patriarchal structures and traditions, and women?s (non-)sexuality is looked upon as being of an utmost importance for the family?s honor.

Bergkaraktäriseringssystem såsom RMR och Q (Rock mass rating och Rock tunneling quality index) används ofta i förstadiet av ett byggprojekt för att ge en tidig uppfattning om bergmassans karaktär och kvalitet. Informationen underlättar planeringen och det fortsatta arbetet genom att påvisa korrekta arbetsmetoder och risker. De två vanligaste systemen för att karaktärisera berg är RMR och Q, vilka båda med hjälp av fältbedömningar och beräkning betygsätter den aktuella bergmassan. RMR och Q har här använts för att karaktärisera en bergmassa i Huddinge kommun inför en planerad byggnation. Resultaten av karaktäriseringen med de båda systemen skiljer sig åt på vissa platser vilket sannolikt kan förklaras med systemens olika tillvägagångssätt.

Sweden signed, in 1992, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and has thus assumed responsibility for the indigenous biodiversity. That also means that Sweden has a conservation responsibility for the Swedish Friesian (SLB) (SJV, 2007a). In a survey conducted by the Board of Agriculture (SJV) in 1996, it appeared that there were around 780 cows and heifers of the SLB breed (SJV, 1997). SJV did in 2006 a plan for the development of livestock genet-ic resources and the number of cows of SLB was estimated at approximately 200. This meant that the SLB was in need of being conserved and SJV assumed it would be categorized as threatened.The primary objective of conservation of a breed is to reduce the loss of the original genetic variation (Lacy et al., 1995).

Tidigare forskning är inte enig om aktivt förvaltade fonder presterar bättre eller sämre än index. Då hänsyn inte tas till olika nivåer av aktivitet tycks de flesta studier visa att aktiv förvaltning är en förlustaffär för fondsparare. Vi introducerar ett nytt mått på aktivitet, aktivitetsgrad, som utgår från de åtgärder förvaltaren vidtar. Aktivitetsgraden definieras av mängden och storleken på förändringar i portföljsammansättningen som sker under ett kvartal. Vi undersöker aktivitetsgraden hos 22 svenska småbolagsfonder mellan 2008 och 2013 och finner att de flesta fonder har en låg aktivitetsgrad.

Context: In cooperation with ICA, we chose to investigate how much the auditory and visual stimuli in combination affects consumer behavior in grocery store. There are few studies in the area, which gives good practical and theoretical implications.Research question: How much influenced consumers' purchasing, movement and inspection behavior during exposure to auditory and visual stimuli in the fruit and vegetable department of a grocery store?Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze how much the auditory and visual stimuli affect consumer behavior in the grocery store. We do this through a quantitative experiment of our partner?s fruit and vegetable section, where we observe customer behavior in stores.

Inom ramen för examensarbetet konstruerades ett kompendium som ska förmedla kunskap om den vetenskapliga processen genom integration av autentiska experiment i skolan. Materialet ska hjälpa eleverna att konstruera sina egna experiment och samtidigt bli medvetna om ?tänkandet bakom görandet?. Kompendiet riktar sig till elever i gymnasieskolans biologiundervisning, och kan med fördel användas inom kursen biologi breddning. Den experimentella metoden som används är blodsockermätningar med eleven själv som mätsystem.

The objective of this study was to make an inventory and a potential analysis of the organic beef production in the region of Gävleborg, Sweden. A survey was conducted, where a questionaire was sent to all farmers in the region who had environmental subsidies concerning organic cropping systems in 2001. In total, there were 701 farmers, of which 46 % participated in the study. Three slaughter houses were interviewed to get their pictures of the development of organic beef production. The study shows that there are potentials and interests in the region to increase the production of organic beef.

This paper studies the option market?s implied dividend as a predictor of future equity market returns. We introduce this variable in the simple total return framework and discuss some complications of using it as a proxy for the expected dividend. We construct some regressions using the price-dividend ratio and the implied dividend growth, and test them on six years worth of data on the EURO STOXX 50-index. The main result is that implied dividend growth exhibits some forecastability over two-year horizons, but that the dataset is too short to draw any definitive conclusions about long-horizon forecastability.

Background: Atopic eczema has increased in the last decade among children. The nurse can have a major role to prevent the disease. Aim: the aim of this study as to describe the nurses´ work in primary care with prevention to families with atopi with focus on atopic eczema among children. Method: A literature review based on analysis of fifteen scientific articles was done. Results: If the child was breastfed both positive and negative effects were evident.

This study focused on how local politicians in Kalmar perceive journalists and their intertwined relationship. We based our study on the theoretical understanding of today?s media-centric democratic society. The ?adversary model? offered an understanding of the intricate relations between politicians and journalists.

Empati har länge ansetts vara en god egenskap hos en medmänniska. Det definierats enligt Davis, som individers affektiva och fysiologiska reaktioner avseende någon annans fysiska och psykiska tillstånd. Tidigare forskning har visat att det finns skillnader avseende empati hos individer beroende på olika faktorer. Huvudsyftet med studien var att se om kön, ålder, arbetsplats, antal år inom yrket samt föräldraskap påverkade kriminalvårdares empati. Deltagarna var kriminalvårdare (N = 90) som arbetade på en anstalt och ett häkte.

Infection with intestinal parasites can in many cases be the reason for decreased performance or production. The gastro-intestinal nematode, Ostertagia ostertagi, and the lungworm, Dictyocaulus viviparus, are the most pathogenic nematodes of cattle and severe infection can lead to death. They have both a direct lifecycle and on the pasture the parasites spread as freeliving worms. The parasites are mainly a problem for the first season grazers. They have not developed immunity against the parasites and are therefor more sensitive to parasite infections.

With a growing population on earth the amount of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and other scrap steel increases. The European Directive 2000/53/CE? requires a minimum of 95 % reuse and recovery and 85 % re-use and recycling no later than 1 January 2015, for end-of life vehicles. This imposes a need for more efficient recycling and recovery. This paper?s objective is to investigate whether Modigliani and Miller (MM) I & II proposition from 1958 with regard to capital structure, is still valid among public Swedish firms.We have chosen the 63 firms on the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMX) that Affärsvärlden magazine?s general index (AFGX) has categorized as industrial firms. We based this selection on the assumption that these firms are relatively capital intense and have a clear focus on production and, therefore, mainly uses capital structure as a mean to finance their production and not as a means in itself.To be able to fully evaluate these firms we have calculated the current key ratios based each firm?s annual report. To make the figures comparable across the entire population we adjusted them to each firm?s turnover.The results we have reached concur with MM?s proposition I regarding capital structures independence of the firm value.

Denna undersökningen är ett försök att se hur mycket av ämnesundervisning, kursplan och kursmål som kan rymmas inom serietecknande som (undervisnings) metod. Genom att knyta an till elevers egen kulturkonsumtion hoppas jag kunna knyta an ny kunskap till det eleven redan är bekant med. Serier blir då här som en brygga mellan det de redan vet och det de ska lära. Arbetet genomförs genom undervisningsförsök som vetenskaplig metod och genom diskursanalys av seriemediet. Jag tycker mig se genom detta arbete att man ur det seriemassiga, serierna i sig och serierelaterat innehåll i allmänhet, kan skapa en pedagogisk metod för bildämnet.Detta är ett s.k.
