I dagens transporteffektiva samhälle finns det en mängd aktörer på transportmarknaden. Dessa aktörer konkurrerar med varandra då det gäller att knyta till sig kunder och behålla dessa. Det är därför viktigt att hitta alternativa tillvägagångssätt för att hitta nya konkurrensfördelar. Syftet med studien har varit att stödja speditionsföretaget Mahé i att förbättra och effektivisera företagets processer, Import ? flyg och Export ? flyg, med utgångspunkt i kundnyttan, genom att ta fram ett antal förbättringsförslag.

Under 2011 började MacBat AB ta fram ett elenergilager kallat Macbat Energy Storage System (MESS), vilket är uppbyggt av 360 stycken tvåvolts bly-syrabatterier inhysta i ett 20 fots container. Då bly-syrabatterier är känsliga för värme är den här studien inriktad på att utreda hur stort kylbehovet blir under olika förutsättningar där kyldistribution, drifttemperatur på batterierna, klimat, isolering och termiska tröghet är varierande parameterar. Det ska även avgöras vilken konfiguration av kyldistribution och isolering som ger lägst kylbehov för de studerade klimaten, vilka är av varmtempererad, arid och tropisk karaktär.För att besvara studiens två mål togs fyra matematiska modeller fram i SIMULINK. Två luftkylda och två vattenkylda där en av varje var isolerad med 100 mm mineralull medan den andra var oisolerad. För samtliga modeller varierades drifttemperaturen mellan 25 ? 35 °C och de studerade klimaten utgjordes av Phnom Phen, Kambodja, Djibouti, Djibouti, Bagdad, Irak samt London, England.

Foreseeing future changes in economic activity is of up most importance to a wide array of actors. The time lag in the presentation of official GDP statistics means that to somewhat accurately capture a tendency of where the business cycle is heading one need turn to qualitative sentiment indicators such as Purchasing Managers? Index (PMI) and official sentiment indicators for valuable clues. This thesis uses in-sample and out-of-sample methods to evaluate how well PMI and official Business Tendency Surveys (BTS) in Sweden and Denmark fair against the year-on-year growth rate of industrial production. Moreover, various Swedish regional sentiment indicators get examined and a case study of the indicator for the Öresund region is performed.

Holmen Skog is currently using a GPS-program called TraktInfo, originally developed within the company. They are now planning to switch to a new GPSprogram or allowing the contractors to buy other programs available from the logging equipment manufacturers. To be able to offer this flexibility, Holmen Skog needs to obtain information about the features offered by the different manufacturers in their specific programs, and also when the manufacturers are planning to start selling programs adapted to the new standard called StanFord2010. According to the study, the manufacturers are hesitant to StanFord2010 and there has also been a lack of clear signals from the customers and clients about what kind of different new features to include in the programs. The feature most frequently used by forest machine operators today is the option to keep record of the harvester?s path by creating a ?log plot?. This feature was not used to its full potential however, since only one out of eight of the forwarders included in the study had computers that were compatible with the harvester?s computer.

It has become fairly common for a company to outsource one or several of its logistic activities to a party separate from the business of the company itself. Since the original agreement usually involves two parties, the seller and the buyer, the logistics company is called the third party. The relationship between the outsourcing company and the third party varies in form and in depth but can sometimes be very close, almost to be considered a joint venture. When the co-operation between the two parties includes more than just one separate logistic service and the third party adapts its business to a certain extent to his principals needs, it constitutes third party logistics. If the logistics company, or a party employed by it, becomes insolvent when having the entrusted goods in his possession questions may arise concerning the right to the property.

 SammanfattningI takt med att världen krymper och gränserna mellan världens länder suddas ut ökar möjligheterna för små- och medelstora företag att snabbt slå sig in på den globala marknaden. De företag som inom de närmaste åren efter sin etablering får en snabb tillväxt på internationella marknader brukar benämnas Born Global företag. Det är just denna kategori av företag vi har valt att undersöka. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vilka faktorer som gör det möjligt för ett Born Global företag att överleva en tidig internationalisering. De traditionella teorierna om internationalisering domineras av Uppsalamodellen som förespråkar att denna process sker gradvis hos företagen.

Abstract Denna studie har vi ägnat åt att undersöka PRS-dokumenten, vilka innefattas under IMF och Världsbankens nya skuldreduceringsprogram som ska präglas av nationellt ägande, nationellt drivande och landsspecificering. Frågan vi ställt oss är om dessa dokument är landsspecifika eller om de är mer generellt utformade och då ej så anpassade till det enskilda landets förhållanden. Vi har även tagit del av den kritik som riktas mot PRS-initiativet och försökt utröna hur pass befogad denna är. Kritikerna menar bl.a. att PRS-initiativet endast är en fortsättning på tidigare strukturanpassningsprogram (framtagna av IMF och Världsbanken) och inte alls något nytt inom utvecklingsarbetet.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera hur svenska små- och medelstora tillverkningsföretag eventuellt påverkas i tider då den svenska valutakursen fluktuerar och förstärks kraftigt. Vidare har målet med uppsatsen varit att studera om, och i så fall hur dessa företags internationella konkurrenskraft och strategier påverkats som en effekt av den svenska valutakursens fluktuationer. Den teoretiska referensramen inkluderar huvudsakligen teorier som behandlar företags strategi och internationella konkurrenskraft. Dessa teorier har vi använt med målet att studera och förklara hur företag hanterar den svenska valutakursens fluktuationer för att bibehålla sin internationella konkurrenskraft. Vidare så har vi försökt finna samband mellan hur dessa förändrats under tid inom företaget och om utvecklingen kan förklaras med utvecklingen av den svenska valutakursen som påverkande faktor.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relation between certain chosen fundamental factors (emission trading rights, hydrological balance, interaction with continental Europe, fuel prices) and the spot price at Nord Pool. Particular focus has been put on the trade with emission rights since it is only now their actual impact on electricity prices can be studied. The relationships are measured with regression analysis which includes both R2 and the simulation possibilities of ARX models. The studied period covers 2008 and 2009 with partly daily data and partly weekly data. Owing to the expected higher importance of the fundamentals during the winter months the winter 2008/2009 has been studied separately.

Detta examensarbete visar att upplösande av samägande av fast egendom är viktigt då ägandet av fast egendom är kopplat till rättigheter såväl som skyldigheter. Det är av mycket stor vikt att ägande och brukande av skogsfastigheter fungerar och att det finns förutsättningar för att lyckas med det. Dock kan samägandet i vissa situationer hindra utvecklingen av fastigheten. Skogsbruket är en viktig inkomstkälla för den private skogsägaren såväl som för Sverige, skogsbruket i vårt land stod 2010 för 7 % av världens totala export. Även om Sverige är ett litet land i världen, är det inte obetydligt inom skogsbranschen.

In many industries today, there is a growing emphasis on calculations. They are used to manage and control the activities in today?s organizations, one of these industries is the process industry.

New Zealand is currently the third largest global producer of kiwifruit and thus plays an important role in the international market. Exports of kiwifruit are also of significant horticultural value for New Zealand and in 2007 the kiwifruit industry accounted for export values of NZ$790 million. The global kiwifruit market has experienced substantial changes in recent years and is likely to change significantly in the near future due to developments in production sources, adjustments to trade policy settings and shifts in consumer preferences. The New Zealand kiwifruit industry needs to consider what the impacts of these changes might be so that future strategies can be constructed effectively. Little quantitative modelling has been done in New Zealand to consider the impacts of changes to the global kiwifruit industry. The major contribution of this research was the development and calibration of a kiwifruit industry-specific partial equilibrium trade model. The model was then used to examine the impacts on New Zealand producers of these trade-related changes in the global kiwifruit market.

Myanmar?s entry in Association of South Eastern Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1997 brought about several economic and social changes. One important change is tariff reduction through the Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT-scheme), which increased Myanmar?s export to countries outside the ASEAN. The increase in exports facilitated trade creation and investment creation for Myanmar.

This essay examines whether, and if so to which extent, the project Export MatureDestination in the Biosphere Reserve Vänerskärgården with Kinnekulle can combine the goalof the tourism industry, i.e. to double tourism between 2010 and 2020, and the goals of theBiosphere reserve, i.e. sustainable societal development and a sustainable biosphere economy.The aim is to examine how key individuals in the project approach sustainable developmentand economic growth, representing the two main interests in the area. Examining the state ofthe two interests the following examples are used: the position of sustainable development inregard to economic growth, the opportunities and challenges in the area and unity concerningthe goals of the tourism development in the region. The study is conducted through qualitativeinterviews with key individuals and a descriptive document analysis of the most importantpolicy documents.

Since we all live in an increasingly globalized world where goods and money are transported more easily and with tougher competition, it is a natural step for Swedish companies to establish themselvs abroad in order to increase their gorwth rate and reach more customers. Today all of us belong to the same global network and the purpose of this thesis is to investigate which factors are important for companies when they choose to establish themselvs on a foreign market. The focus of the investigation has been the market of Germany and Spain, since both countries just like Sweden are members of the European Union, but still have quite different characteristics. We, the authors, have also been living in Spain and Germany during the time of investigation and writing. The companies we have chosen to look closer into are Abba Seafood, which now has merged with Procordia Food, and Oatly AB.
