AIM The aim of this paper was to clarify some of the factors that motivates pet owners to follow advice and instructions from veterinary nurses, so called compliance. METHOD An empirical study with an inductive approach was conducted, and a qualitative content analysis was performed. Content analysis is a scientific method of achieving qualitative results. The analysis is based on interviews with five pet owners, completed in February 2012. The interviews were transcribed and the results are made up of abstracted quotations. RESULTS The result in the study indicate that pet owners are motivated by information, respect, trustworthiness and treatment in meeting.

International studies show that literacy skills have deteriorated among Swedish students. Empirical evidence states that before being able to learn to read it is important to have phonological awareness. From this perspective, an intervention study was launched to examine whether pupils´ phonological awareness could be enhanced through the work of a special model during a limited time. The aim of the study is to investigate whether six pupils in preschool develop phonological awareness based on Bornholmsmodellen during a limited period of time. The control group was made up of the remaining pupils in the preschool class.

The aim of this study is to find out if there is any difference between how a state-owned company and a publicly listed private company communicate its sustainability performance in its sustainability report. It also aims to find out if the communication regarding sustainability has changed over time. The poll was conducted in two Swedish companies, Sveaskog AB and AB SCA, operating in the forestry industry and through a quantitative content analysis, the companies' sustainability reports from 2005 and 2010 were examined. To get a result, the reports has been examined by the GRI framework (Global Reporting Initiative) and an assessment of the communication was made based on a scale of 0-3. The results has been evaluated based on stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory and the growing interest in CSR. The analyses found evidence that there is a link between the form of ownership of the company and how it communicates regarding sustainability.

Based on hermeneutic tradition, the goal of this thesis is to further my understanding of what the concept of resistance means in a psychoanalytical context today, primarily within clinical practice. My methodology has been to seek an understanding of the concept of resistance by reading excerpts from the original texts of Sigmund Freud, as well as conducting interviews with practicing psychoanalysts that focus on how they relate to the notion of resistance. The idea was to then present my understanding of these sources in relation to one another. The results suggest that an understanding of the concept of resistance in a clinical context is highlighted by a dichotomy between theory and practice..

Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) är ett habiliterings och undervisningsprogram för personer med autism. Huvudsyftet inom programmet är att minska avståndet mellan individens kapacitet och omgivningens krav för att få personen så delaktig i samhället som möjligt. Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur arbetsterapeuter upplever att olika faktorer inom TEACCH bidrar till aktivitet och delaktighet hos personer med autism. Undersökningen var en kvalitativ intervjustudie där fem arbetsterapeuter i Skåne deltog. Vid databearbetning valdes en teoristyrd analysmetod.

There are intense discussions within the European Union regarding the introduction of a European Public Prosecutor (EPP). The proposed EPP will have jurisdiction in the entire union, and will work under a unified set of rules of procedure. These procedural rules will differ from the Swedish rules of criminal procedure, especially regarding the handling of illegal evidence. The thesis describes the European legal history, especially regarding criminal procedure. Blood sampling is one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine, and this is also true for avian medicine. A properly collected and handled venous sample can be used for serology, biochemistry and electrolyte analysis, as well as for blood smears, packed cell volume and cell differentiation. Caring for sick birds is a challenge for all veterinary staff. Many birds are easily stressed individuals, and to a very ill bird a big increase in stress level can even be fatal. Avian patients who are presented in a veterinary clinic are often in a poor condition, and blood sampling is an invasive procedure that can cause stress to the patient.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka faktorer som inverkar på återgång i arbete bland personer som insjuknat i stroke. Syftet var även att ta reda på deras upplevelse av arbetsförmåga. Fyra personer deltog i studien, två kvinnor och två män. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och datainsamlingen har skett genom intervju med hjälp av en egengjord intervjuguide. Efter innehållsanalys identifierades temat med fyra kategorier och ett flertal subkategorier.

Studien fokuserar på att undersöka blandmissbrukares upplevelse av skapande aktivitet i sin behandling. Studien har genomförts via kvalitativ metod och datainsamlingen har skett med hjälp av en egenkonstruerad intervjuguide.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the existence and prevalence of earnings management in Swedish companies. Theoretical frameworks often suggest that there are strong incentives to practice earnings management. The research area of earnings management has, to date, mainly focused on detecting earnings management. However, to our knowledge, no such studies have been conducted on Swedish companies. This thesis provides evidence of the existence and prevalence of earnings management in Swedish companies.

The purpose of the study is to investigate how board structure influences CEO compensation for companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2004. The theoretical frame of reference is based upon the corporate governance theory, the principal-agent theory and previous empirical research in the area. A cross sectional regression analysis is used, where a number of control variables are included and significance tests are conducted. The study is based on information regarding CEO compensation, and possible factors affecting the compensation, from 267 companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange A- and O-list in the year 2004. We find that the board structure has no significant effect on the CEO compensation.

Does playing have to hurt? - A quantitative study of ergonomics and double bass playing. This is a paper about ergonomics and double bass playing. I have studied the prevalence of playing-related pain in professional double bass players, teachers and students. This study is based on a questionnaire with 11 questions about double bass playing and pain.

Det sker en ökning av äldre vilket medför att sjukdomar relaterade till hög ålder blir vanligare. Den nuvarande trenden är att de äldre bor kvar i de egna hemmen så länge som möjligt. Detta ställer större krav på utökad vård och social service eftersom äldre snabbt får reducerad aktivitetsförmåga och därför kräver direkt aktiv rehabilitering av sin skada. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka sjukvårdspersonalens omhändertagande av äldre patienter på ortopedens akutintag. Metoden vi använde var observation av sjukvårdspersonalens möte med tretton ortopedpatienter.

Utvecklingen av elrullstolar har öppnat upp mängder av möjligheter för personer med funktionshinder som påverkar deras förflyttningsförmåga. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur elrullstolsanvändare upplever ökad delaktighet i vardagliga aktiviteter sedan de börjat använda elrullstol ? en jämförelse mellan yngre och äldre användare.
