sustainable development by reducing the energy use by EU:s directive of energy efficiency and the UN Convention. The second purpose is to present the technical solutions regarding ventilation and heating system that is being used in passive houses. This was done using 8 passive houses, 4 germany and 4 swedish passive houses. Even the international and Swedish system requirements for passive houses have been addressed in this project. The goal was also to explain how and why the mechanical system in passive houses has developed to the technology used today.

This master thesis has been performed at Vattenfall Power Consultant in Gothenburg and Trollhättan for Vattenfall Vattenkraft. In this report vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations with the rated power 4 MVA and below has been studied. Models of the stations are modeled and analyzed in PSCAD/EMTDC to study the high voltage transients that are created after current chopping with vacuum circuit breaker. Vacuum circuit breaker may chop the current before it reaches zero value, which means that high voltage transients can be created. The equipment of the stations can be destroyed by high voltage transients.The purpose of this thesis is to examine the use of vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations and the risk for high voltage transients from current chopping.According to the results there is a risk of high voltage transients after current chopping with small synchronous generators in stations with the operating voltages 0.4 kV and 3.6 kV.

The purpose of this thesis is to shed light on a present trend of professionalization in Swedish local environmental politics, which have recently seen a decline in active participation of the citizens in favor of an increased governmental regulation. With the aim to closer investigate this relatively new phenomenon, the paper is a qualitative single case-study of environmental policies in the Swedish municipality of Karlskrona. In this case, the municipality is obviously balancing between regarding the interests of the national level and the interests of its own citizens at the same time. This motivates the use of system-theory, and relates to the classical political paradox between participation and efficiency which is also a present theme in the paper.This text-analysis based on interviews with personnel and documents from the municipality shows a visible trend of professionalization in the local politics of the municipality of Karlskrona, from a large grade of participation and a strong bottom-up approach in the days of Agenda 21 to now being more strongly top-down defined by national environmental objectives and principally operated on a professional level..

This thesis was conducted at AB Fredr Wagner in Ösmo in Nynäshamn, Sweden.AB Fredr Wagner provides solutions for the graphic industry and has been asked by acustomer to develop a product that can simplify handling of EUR-pallets, namely amechanical arrangement, further called pallet exchanger that can switch from anempty pallet to a fully loaded one using only hand force.The goal with the thesis was to create design documents for a pallet exchanger, andalso from those documents to manufacture a prototype for testing and evaluation.A field trip was made to the customer, IKAB mailing in Huddinge, where the palletexchanger is thought to be placed. The purpose of this field trip was to get an insightinto the current work condition and need of change, as well as to gather informationregarding the requirements when it comes to size and robustness of the palletexchanger. Existing equipment on the market that can perform similar tasks werestudied in order to find an optimal solution for the actual pallet exchanger.After the field trip and gathering of information the concept generating phase began.The method used for generating concepts was brainstorming. To decide on whichconcept to use, a concept selection matrix was created. The selection criteriaincluded in the matrix came from the requirements for the pallet exchanger.

 This report will describe a project between two students from Karlstad University and Markus Norström from Hovercraft solutions. The project aim was to develop a cabin for the hovercraft 380TD. The project was divided into two sub parts; one concerning the design of the cabin and one concerning the engineering. Throughout this rapport you can follow the engineering part of the project. The project has followed a systematic product development process resulting in optimized results for material selection and engineering solutions.

The Swedish National Heritage Board (RAÄ) is the agency of the Swedish government responsible for heritage and historic environment issues. During the last couple of years the agency has implemented a new management control system, the balanced scorecard, originally developed for profit driven organizations. Organizations within the public sector have other objectives than profit seeking organizations, and there have been difficulties in applying the balanced scorecard model in the public sector. Therefore we find it interesting to examine the reasons behind these difficulties and believe that some answers can be found in the identification process of the balanced scorecard. Therefore we aim to perform a case study of RAÄ and explain how the identification process of the components of their balanced scorecard can affect further usage of the model as a management control tool.

Volvo Construction Equipment AB, Volvo CE, är en global tillverkare av entreprenadmaskiner. Detta exjobb fokuserar på batterierna i dessa entreprenadmaskiner som försörjer maskinens elsystem och startmotor vid start.Med dagens teknik ställs nya krav på strömförsörjning i entreprenadmaskiner. Den största skillnaden är att förbrukare är igång när motorn är avstängd och strömförsörjningen kommer enbart från batteriet. Ett startbatteri av bly-syra typ är inte konstruerad för detta användningsfall. Volvo CE jobbar därför med att ta fram kunskap om hur laddningen i batterierna används och cyklas under drift.Frågeställning om vilka parametrar och trender som är relevanta för att utvärdera batteriladdning har behandlats i detta arbete.

Att bara slänga ihop ett användargränssnitt är inte särskilt svårt. Det svåra ligger i att göra det på ett sådant sätt att användaren känner tillförlitlighet och förtroende för det. Genom att titta på teorier om hur vi uppfattar och tar till oss information och hur information kan anpassas för att nå ut till målgruppen, kan man få fram ett gränssnitt som uppfyller några kvalitativa komponenter som utgör användbarhet; learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors och satisfaction. Informationsdesign ger oss verktygen för att uppfylla dessa krav. Att formge efter gestaltlagar, organisera med tydlig struktur och genomarbetad taxonomi med tydliga etiketter, skriva tydliga trovärdiga och språkanpassade texter och minimera bruset genom att ta bort överflödig information bidrar till god informationsdesign.

The purpose with this essay is to investigate whether the legal capital can be justified as creditor protection and whether the legal capital prevent entrepreneurship.Historically the legal capital has been justified by means of creditor protection. Nowdays the development within EU rather reduces or abolish the legal capital. Sweden has recently, 1 of April 2010, reduced the legal capital from 100 000 Swedish crowns to 50 000 Swedish crowns. In the preparatory work it has been admitted that the legal capital does not in reality offer creditors much protection. Although the lawmaker decides to retain the legal capital and justifies the legal capitals existence with the argument that involuntary creditors has the need of the legal capital.

Enligt arbetsmiljölagen ska arbete planläggas och anordnas rätt, så att det kan utföras i en säker och sund miljö. Trots det inträffar arbetsplatsolyckor i Sverige av olika anledningar. Ett uppdrag har tilldelats författaren för att öka förståelsen för hur anställda på Peab Anläggning AB i Region Mellansverige anser att företaget kan nå sitt mål att halvera antalet arbetsplatsolyckor till år 2017. Sex semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med anställda på företaget. Intervjuerna transkriberades och analyserades genom en manifest innehållsanalys.

Background: In a world that are becoming more and more aware of the climate changes that occur as a consequence of the increasing emissions around the world companies? experience that the opinion blame the internal processors for this. Many companies feel forced to align their strategies to the environmental goals set by the community. Some of the emissions the companies? operations can be linked to business trips and it is therefore interesting to see how these can be reduced by using different performance measures.

Förr i tiden producerades musik med analog hårdvara och datorer användes inte i någon vidare utsträckning. På 80-talet introducerades datorer och nu produceras nästan all musikmed hjälp av datorer. Denna uppsats belyser om, och i så fall hur, införandet av datorer i musikproduktion har påverkat musikproducenter i deras arbete i vardagen. Vi har intervjuat ett antal musikproducenter för att se hur deras användande av datorer i sina arbetsuppgifter har förändrat, förbättrat och försämrat deras arbete. Undersökningenhar genomförts med avstamp i ett sonderingssamtal med en musikproducent på en musikstudio i Malmö för att sedan mynna ut i semistrukturerade intervjuer med fem musikproducenter.

Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att kartlägga hur effektiva privata vårdcentraler är, som har avtal med Stockholms läns landsting. Effektiviteten, som i denna studie definieras som vinst, har mätts förhållande till antal patienter, antal läkare och antal läkarbesök.Metod: Undersökningen har en deduktiv utgångspunkt och en kvantitativ undersökning har genomförts där empiri har samlats in med hjälp av enkäter samt med en kompletterande telefonintervju. Resultaten jämförs med motsvarande nyckeltal för friskolor.Teoretiska perspektiv: De teorier som presenteras i denna uppsats är privatisering, PPP, effektivitet och konkurrens.Empiri: Det empiriska avsnittet består dels av sekundärdata; SLL?s ersättningssystem, information från tre vårdbolags och en friskolas årsredovisningar, dels av primärdata; enkätsvaren och resultatet från intervjun.Slutsats: Författaren kommer fram till att privata vårdcentraler är effektivare än friskolor gällande vinst i förhållande till läkare/lärare, men att de är mindre effektiva än friskolor gällande vinst i förhållande till patient/elev..

This paper aims to give a comprehensive view in which extent Swedish legislation concerning trafficking in human beings (Brottsbalken 4 kap. 1a §) is efficient. Qualitative interviews have been carried out with professionals within the judicial system in order to comprehend various aspects of efficiency relating to legislative validation of trafficking regarded human beings. Consent, coercion and control brings up miscellaneous issues. Personal observations by authorized people within the area was therefore viewed and found to be highly essential.

A too large public sector impedes the economic development of Sweden and more privatization could increase the efficiency, quality and diversity of the services offered. It is therefore important that firms operating in traditionally public sectors are given the opportunity to grow. We have through a case study examined two mid-size firms that offer services to, and compete with, the public sector. This thesis aims to describe the growth strategies these firms are using and if competing with the public sector implies any differences in possibilities or barriers when it comes to the firms? growth.
