Few helmets, dated to the Vendel period are known from Scandinavia and even fewer are known from the Viking age. Paradoxically, picture stones and sagas frequently tell about these objects as if they were very common, something that is contradicted by the archaeological material. The purpose of this thesis is to examine different literary sources and compare these to the archaeological materials and by doing so, gets a clearer picture about the emergence, use, function and of the late Iron Age helmets in Scandinavia..

This paper treats George Dickies institutional theory of how to define art. Some alternative theories and their originators are also introduced. According to Dickie something is art because it has been created against a background of an already existing artworld. Dickie has formulated his theory in two different versions, ?the earlier? and ?the later?, which differ somewhat in their design.

The study is divided into three parts ? the development of wage labour towards becoming the dominant norm in society, how this norm is challenged in a specific geographical context, and lastly a study of two unemployed individuals and their everyday activities, what and especially why certain behaviour occurs. The main purpose with the text is to study unemployed people in a specific geographical context in a overall society where wage labour is thought to be the norm. Questions that is being asked is how the unemployed individual works in a society where wage labour is the dominant activity for the day. This is connected to a study of Möllevången, a district of Malmö, where the wage labour norm can be thought of as being challenged.

Syftet med vårt arbete är att belysa lärarnas uppfattningar om fritidspedagogens yrkesroll vid två skolor. Ett ytterligare syfte är att jämföra ovan med rådande uppfattningar från Skolverket samt jämföra utfallet av ovanstående med resultatet av en enkät utförd på fritidspersonalen vid dessa två skolor. Vi väljer att använda en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod med förutbestämda frågor. Vi avser att intervjua fyra lärare och delar ut enkäter till fem fritidsanställda på två olika skolor. Vi intervjuar även personal på Skolverket för att jämföra beskrivningen av fritidspedagogens yrkesroll.

Träds sociala status inverkan på grundytetillväxtökningen undersöktes genom jämförelse av grundytetillväxten efter gallring med motsvarande stammars grundytetillväxt i en ogallrad kontrollyta. Datat kommer från fyra olika provytelokaler ur de svenska gödslings-/gallringsförsöken, där behandlingarna bestod av ett gallringsprogram med en kraftig gallring, ett med tre klenare gallringar samt en ogallrad kontrollyta. Datat täckte en utvecklingsperiod på ungefär 40 år. Stammarna delades vid första mättillfället in i fem klasser utifrån diametermedelstammen och dess tillhörande standardavvikelse på respektive yta, därefter utfördes undersökningarna på de stammar som fanns kvar efter sista mättillfället. Vid den sista mätningen fanns enbart de tre största klasserna kvar i tillräcklig utsträckning i alla behandlingar och resultatet omfattar därför bara dessa klasser.

Undersökningens syfte är att med hjälp av intervjuer redovisa sex gymnasielärares uppfattningar om deras yrkesetiska principer. Fokus ligger på principernas syfte, diskursaktualitet och applicerbarhet. Resultatet visar att lärarna ser yrkesetiken som ett förhållningssätt samt en del i status- och professionsfrågan. Diskursaktualiteten uppfattas som frånvarande på den aktuella skolan, men intresse för större aktivitet önskas hos några av dem. Yrkesetikens applicerbarhet anses som relativt god, men att problem finns..

I ett samhälle med ökad globalisering blir regler angående den internationella privat- och processrätten allt viktigare. Denna uppsats behandlar lagvalsregler, vilka går att finna i Romkonventionen. Romkonventionens huvudregel är lagvalsfrihet. Det finns dock bestämmelser i konventionen som inskränker denna möjlighet. Artikel 7 rörande internationellt tvingande regler är ett exempel på detta och är även uppsatsens huvudämne.

Popular culture is a phenomenon of growing importance in the society today. Children and teenagers are increasingly using popular culture in their everyday life to reflect and answer questions about their identities and the meaning of life. Swedish primary and upper secondary schools are expected to prepare their students for adulthood and to provide them with tools to explain understand and problematize contemporary society. From this perspective it is relevant to question whether the schools achieve this and whether the instruction given there represents the contemporary society. For the purpose of knowing more about how popular culture is perceived and dealt with in the Swedish education system, this study examines how eight textbooks in Religious Education (RE) and the national curriculum for upper secondary school discuss and treat popular culture.  The study focuses on when and in what ways the textbooks mention popular culture and if the curriculum provides any supportive base for including popular culture in religious education.

The main purpose of this study was to examine if, and how, persons with psychological impairments have worse living conditions than the population average. The papers intention was to investigate and describe these conditions and to analyze them based on theories of stigma, and systems theory. This paper was composed on a qualitative study in which god men have been interviewed, in addition to accomplish the purpose. This study has highlighted the four individual areas of economy, employment, housing conditions and social relations. Results have shown that people with mental disabilities tend to live in worse living conditions than the population average.

Syftet med det här arbetet var att kartlägga rekryteringsprocessen i svenska rederier och bemanningsbolag av maskinbefäl. För att ta reda på detta skickades det ut ett antal enkäter till personalrekryterarna i respektive rederi/bemanningsbolag. Studien är en kvantitativ undersökning för att få in ett så stort underlag som möjligt och därefter kunna få fram ett trovärdigt resultat. Resultatet blev att rekryteringsprocessen har påverkats av utflaggningen av fartygen och då framför allt för juniorbefälen. Det som personalrekryterarna ansåg som mest betydelsefullt vid nyrekrytering av maskinbefäl är rekommendationer från redan anställda i rederiet/bemanningsbolaget och fullständig sjöingenjörsexamen.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka svensklärares föreställningar om lärobokens roll i svenskundervisningen på gymnasieskolan. Enligt tidigare forskning dominerar läroboken i undervisningen i såväl Sverige som Norge men graden av läroboksanvändning kan vara kopplad till en rad olika faktorer. Några av dessa är undervisningsämnets struktur, lärobokens status och lärarens individuella lärarstil. Fyra yrkesverksamma lärare har intervjuats om hur de i sitt arbete förhåller sig till läroboksanvändning. Det tyngst vägande skälet mot att använda läroboken är att färdigproducerat material upplevs hämma kreativiteten.

A social semiotic analysis of composition was also used with the purpose to gain a deeper knowledge of the social semiotic affordances of Facebook?s composition.Theoretical perspectives: The theoretical base of this thesis consists mainly of Erving Goffman?s theory on presentation of self in everyday life as well as relevant theories to youth culture in sociology and identity in social psychology.Conclusions: The results show that the youth?s presentations of selves mostly takes place in their profile picture, status updates, groups, fan pages and through their communication with other users on their wall. The borders between front and back stage on Facebook entirely depends on the norms that the reader expects the profile owner to uphold.

The increasing threat of climate change has led to a increased need for models to predict future climat. In these models the changes in the soil carbon pools due to changes in microbiel degradation of the organic matter can lead to both positive and negative feedback-effects. There is however a lack of consensues on the temperature respons on degradation soil organic matter. This paper aim to give a better understanding on the factors controlling the temperature respons. The factors studied were the carbon substrate qualitity and the physiological status of the microorganisms.

Människor blir allt mindre fysiskt aktiva och allt mer stillasittande. Barn och ungdomar ses som en ökande riskgrupp i sammanhanget och bör därför prioriteras. Syftet är att undersöka hur 17 ungdomar från två olika skolor i Göteborgsområden med hög invandrartäthet, låg socioekonomisk status och låg utbildningsnivå talar om fysisk aktivitet. Studien är en del i fas två av ett större europeiskt forskningsprojekt och har därför fått en specifik målgrupp tilldelad efter att fas ett genomförts. En kvalitativ forskningsmetod har använts i form av fyra fokusgruppsintervjuer som genomförts med ungdomar i åldern 13-14 år.
