The Swedish healthcare system is characterized by lack of resources and extensive hospital queues. In order to counter these difficulties the Lund University Hospital have introduced Lean Healthcare to the hospital organization. The purpose of this scientific paper is to study the relationship between the implementation of Lean Healthcare and the experienced motivation among the staff. This essay thereby intends to impart knowledge, which could be used on future implementations of Lean Healthcare at other hospitals. In order to fulfil the purpose of this essay a case study have been conducted at two wards at the Lund University Hospital in which qualitative research interviews have been the method chosen in order to gather data.

Bakgrund och problem: Begreppet Lean härstammar från Japan och har sitt ursprung i Toyotasframgångskoncept TPS (Toyota Production System). Under 1970? och 1980?talet blev de tre störstabiltillverkarna i USA intresserade av Toyotas sätt att utföra sin verksamhet vilket ledde till ettforskningsprojekt. Resultatet från studien kom att kallas Lean Production och kan ses som en renamerikansk kopia av Toyotas sätt att bedriva sin verksamhet. Konceptet har vidare kommit att spridasig över hela världen och i Sverige har ett flertal företag kommit långt i sin omställning till LeanProduction.

Metso Paper in Karlstad is acquiring Kvaerner Pulping and Kvaerner Kamfab, also located in Karlstad. Following this acquisition, there are going to be changes in the organizational structure and some employees might even loose their jobs. There are guidelines from the European Union how to handle situations like this, the purpose of these are to protect the employees. There are also Swedish laws that regulate the protection of the employees when a company is acquired, who is going to keep their job and who is to be made redundant.The transaction between the companies is large why they need an approval from the European Union. The European Union has certain demands for the approval.

Följande rapport är resultatet av det examensarbete som utförts våren 2011 inom innovativ produktion/logistik vid Mälardalens Högskola. Examensarbete behandlar ämnet Green Production med fokus på skillnader mellan ett produktionssystem som bygger på Lean Production och ett som bygger på Green Production. Områden som berörs i rapporten är de verktyg som används i de olika produktionssystemen, hur arbetet med miljöförbättrande åtgärder kan se ut i praktiken samt vilka svårigheter som finns vid arbete med miljöförbättrande åtgärder i ett företag. Examensarbetet består av en litteraturstudie där aktuell litteratur studerats inom området samt en intervjustudie som genomförts med insatta inom miljöfrågor kopplat till produktion samt operatörer.Bakgrunden till examensarbetet grundar sig i att världen står inför en framtid där många utav de råmaterial som används idag vid produktion inte kommer att kunna nyttjas i framtiden. Detta i kombination med de miljöproblem som människan åsamkat, har bidragit till att många företag insett att miljöaspekter måste vara i åtanke genom hela produktionsprocessen.Den uppfattning som erhållits genom intervjustudierna är att det är viktigt för ett företag att visa att de arbetar med miljöförbättrande åtgärder.

The essays main intent is to examine whether there has been a proper implementation of the Council?s directive 1999/70/EG into Swedish law regarding the requirement for measures to prevent the abuse of successive fixed-term employment contracts. To achieve this purpose there is a need for an examination of current law. The essay also has some secondary purposes. One of these secondary purposes is the question of whether the implementation of the Council?s directive 1999/70/EG has lead to a reduction of the workers employment protection, which is closely connected to my main question and the violation case.

SammanfattningLean Production är ett tankesätt för att effektivisera en verksamhet med fokus på att eliminera slöseri, skapa engagemang hos medarbetare samt ständiga och systematiska förbättringar. För att genomföra detta finns ett antal Lean-verktyg som initialt tagits fram för bilindustrin vilken är en typisk verkstadsindustri och karakteriseras av diskreta produkter. Processindustrin skiljer sig från verkstadsindustrin genom sitt kontinuerliga materialflöde. Det är därför inte helt naturligt att tillämpa Lean-verktygen på processindustrin.Rapportens syfte är att undersöka vilka av dessa verktyg som anses vara lämpliga att använda i processindustrin och då specifikt inom den svenska pappersindustrin. Det görs genom att studera redan befintlig vetenskaplig litteratur inom området Lean i processindustrin, för att sedan kategorisera de vanligaste verktygen efter lämplighet för användning inom pappersindustrin.

The Employment Protection Act (1982:80; LAS) is one of the cornerstones of the labour law that regulates the relationship between employer and employee. The central rule as stated in 4 § LAS is valid for an indefinite term. LAS is a semi-optional law in accordance with 2 § LAS which facilitates deviation from the central rule.Temporary employment is dealt with in 5 and 6 §§ LAS, regulations and collective bargaining agreements. The purpose of the legislative change on July 12007 was to simplify the use of temporary employment and to make the law more predictable and easier to interpret. The previous law was unnecessarily difficult for the employer to know when to put into practice.

The first aim of this study is to describe how the public employment service (PES) producesoccupational descriptions. The second aim is to analyse the conditions for that production.Method: The empiric material consists of seven qualitative interviews with employed at PES,operational plan for the team working with descriptions on occupations and observation notes.The overall theme in the study is Foucaults perspective on power. The conditions forproduction of occupational descriptions are understood in the light of the governmentality perspectiveand the concept of employability. Bourdieu´s concept habitus, symbolic violence and capital are usedto articulate the officials? values and experiences.Eight officials at PES produce the occupational descriptions.

This study is preformed at Westbaltic Components placed in Töcksfors Sweden. Themain target in this study is to make one of the company?s assembly lines better andmore effective. The assembly line constructs vending machines for different stores allover Europe.It will contain tobacco, snuff, cigarettes and shaving blades and many more similarproducts.The first step in our study is to locate the daily problems and find out a good way toreduce them and make them disappear. A good way to do this job easier was toconstruct a visualizing board.

Under senare årtionden har Lean Production blivit ett allt mer etablerat begrepp inom den moderna industrin när det gäller effektivisering av verksamheter. Målet med Lean Production är att kunna erbjuda kunden högsta kvalitet till lägsta pris, på kortast möjliga tid, genom att ständigt arbeta med att eliminera slöseri. Genom att minimera eller eliminera aktiviteter som inte skapar något värde för kunden kan flöden bli mer effektiva och kräva mindre resurser.Ett företag som arbetar med att sammankoppla Lean-principer med sin logistiska verksamhet är Wibax AB; ett företag inom kemikalieindustrin. Företaget har under de senaste åren befunnit sig i en expansionsfas och ett problem är att verksamhetens processer inte har utvecklats i tillräckligt hög takt för att på lång sikt kunna möta den ökade efterfrågan.Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur Lean-principer kan tillämpas för att förbättra fallföretagets arbetsprocesser inom lagerstyrning och materialhantering. Då likheter mellan områdena Lean Production och logistik kunde ses i början av studie var syftet även att undersöka vilka teoretiska kopplingar som kunde hittas mellan områdena.För ett antal av företagets produkter uppfattas arbetsflödet som ineffektivt och kartläggningen av nuvarande arbetsflöde visade att de största problemen är att informationsöverföring sker manuellt mellan ett flertal parallella system, att miniminivåer i lager inte är baserade på statistiska underlag samt att det råder oreda både vad gäller material- och informationshantering.Resultatet av studien visade att många problem var sammanlänkade och att flödet skulle effektiviseras av relativt få åtgärder.

This thesis focuses on youth unemployment in Finspång, often referred as an industrial community. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on social constructionism and covers theoretical discourse analysis, intersectionality and social capital. The study is based on qualitative interviews with 7 unemployed individuals between the ages of 19-24 and an interview with an employee at the employment office in the community. The main subject in this thesis is the youngsters experience with unemployment, labour, the employment office, the impacts of social capital and the labour market in the community. The analysis focuses in how the respondents discuss their experienced problems with their unemployment.

Today's fierce competition means that companies constantly must develop their business and internal processes. Focus on processes and continuous improvement is something that characterizes Lean Production which ICA logistics are applying with their concept Leading Logistics. Standardized routines for handling damaged gods were insufficient at the ICA distribution center in Kungälv. Handling and registration of damaged gods were not performed uniformly, resulting in problems with controlling and monitoring the process.The purpose of this thesis was to analyze and make recommendations how the process of internal handling of damaged gods could be improved. Therefore a comprehensive understanding was needed of the entire material flow through the warehouse and important quality aspects such as product safety and delivery reliability.The methods used are literature reviews, interviews and observations to produce a comprehensive process mapping of the current situation at the distribution center.
