The question whether controlled vocabulary or natural language free-text terms is the most effective search strategy has occupied researchers in LIS for many decades. This Masters thesis is an empirical study which aims to compare these two search strategies in LISA Library and Information Science Abstracts, an online bibliographic database. 22 topics from the discipline of Library and Information Science were constructed and out of each topic one query for each search strategy was formed. Queries in natural language were formed with terms from different sources, for example dictionaries, while queries in controlled vocabulary were built with terms from LISAs electronic thesaurus. The measures used in this study were precision, relative recall pooling method and overlap.

En närvarodetektor i form av en IR-detektor uppfyllde inte de önskade kraven och Eluw Electronic AB hade planer på att utveckla produkten vidare. IR-detektorn registrerar endast rörelse på en person vilket inte alltid är tillräckligt i företagets anläggningar. En person som inte är i rörelse måste också detekteras för att upprätthålla säkerheten runt en specifik anläggning. Företaget efterfrågade en närvarodetektor som klarade båda dessa detekteringar. Ett examensarbete på Luleå tekniska universitet löste uppgiften och en väl fungerande närvarodetektor med IR och ultraljud har utvecklats.

Today the ability to swim is taken for granted by most people. Most of Sweden?s adult population can swim which is reflected in the reduced number of accidental drownings. About 1900 AD when Sweden?s population was about five million the average drownings per year was 1100.

The purpose of this study was to illustrate a parental perspective of children´s participation and quality of live through personal assistance. Important aspects of parents' experiences were highlighted based on how they experienced participation and quality of life for their children. We chose to use a qualitative approach in the form of four individual interviews with parents from different municipalities in central Sweden. The study was conducted with a narrative approach in which we used a holistic perspective. Parents' experiences were highlighted over time to create a complete picture.

Syftet med föreliggande uppsats var att studera vilka motivationsfaktorer, passionsfaktorer samt vilken grad av självförtroende som uppvisas hos ungdomslandslagsspelare i fotboll. Vidare undersöktes samband mellan passion och självförtroende samt hur motivation var relaterat till passion och självförtroende. I studien deltog 288 manliga och kvinnliga fotbollspelare i åldrarna 15-17 år (M=16,02, Sd=1,06) från svenska ungdomslandslaget i fotboll. I studien användes Vealeys Sportconfidence Scale (VSS), Sport Motivation Scale (SMS) och The Passion Scale (PS). Resultatet visade att det fanns statistiska signifikanta samband mellan de tre variablerna passion, motivation och självförtroende.

BackgroundResearch shows that the majority of patients feel anxiety before and during anesthesia. It has been shown in several studies that preoperative anxiety may cause adverse effects in the postoperative course. Nurse anesthetists have a key role in creating a safe environment and the opportunity to use different interventions to reduce the degree of anxiety.AimThe aim of the study was to examine which interventions may reduce anxiety in adult patients before and during both general, local and regional anesthesia.DesignSystematic literature review with a quantitative approach.ResultsSeveral studies indicate that gabapentin and pregabalin can reduce anxiety before and during anesthesia. The anxiety reducing effect appeared to be dose dependent. The naturopathic drugs Citrus aurantium blossom and Passiflora incarnata Linneaus were found to reduce anxiety before anesthesia.

Context. In today?s society we use smart cards in many areas, NFC is a smart card technology that allows contactless interaction between a reader and the tag, the tag is often in the form of a card. NFC can be used for various payment methods or as access card to a building which makes life easier. In previous studies, the technique has proven to be weak to attacks using an NFC reader connected to a computer.

Syftet med den aktuella studien var att på svenska elitfotbollsgymnasier (1) undersöka samband mellan psykosociala variablerna motivation (i.e., inre och yttre former), självbestämmande och passion (i.e., harmonisk och tvångsmässig) samt (2) undersöka samband mellan passion och frekvensen träningstimmar. I studien ingick 220 ungdomsspelare från fem svenska elitfotbollsgymnasier (pojkar n =169, flickor n =51). I studien användes Passion Scale för att mäta spelarnas passion för fotboll, Sport Motivation Scale (SMS) för att se vilka motiv deltagande är byggt på samt Self-Determination Scale (SDS) för att mäta upplevt självbestämmande. Resultatet visade att inre motivation och självbestämmande förklarar 39 % av den totala variansen av harmonisk passion för fotboll samt att inre motivation har en partiell positivt medierande effekt mellan självbestämmande och harmonisk passion. Introjektionerad reglering förklarar (som ensam faktor) 28 % av den totala variansen av tvångsmässig passion för fotboll.

Denna studie har skrivits för att skapa en förståelse för vad deltagande i handikappidrott betyder för skapandet av identitet och självbild påverkas hos personer med intellektuellt funktionshinder. Att genom idrott lära sig vem jag är och vad jag kan. Ett ämne som är viktigt att belysa i en samhällsgrupp som ofta känner sig orättvist bedömda av andra. Det är även en samhällsgrupp som är eftersatt inom den kvalitativa forskningen och idrottspedagogiken. För att studera detta användes deltagande observationer och intervjuer.

Integration projects at two libraries: multiculture, meetings and possibilities takes its start in the fact that Sweden is populated with people from many different nations. The libraries have a unique possibility to arrange integration projects as a supplier of culture and information. This case study focuses on two integration projects arranged by two libraries; the library of Jönköping with the project Brobyggarbiblioteken, and the library of Kortedala which was involved in the project Ordbron. My purpose is to find out how these two libraries chose to work with integration, migrants and multiculture. The aim is to examine if the library could function as a passway to the Swedish society, and to find out if the library can facilitate for migrants to maintain contact with their native country.

Sweden has a long tradition of collecting documents by way of a process of legal deposit of copies. Its aim is to ensure the availability of material for research, cultural preservation and citizens? right to free information. New forms of publications, made possible by technical advances, are not accommodated in the traditional deposit submission criteria. Certain information accordingly risks being lost.

I Sverige föreligger en ringa forskning som berör amatörboxningens sociala betydelse. Detta gäller även den internationella arenan. En generell uppfattning är att boxning är en sport som mestadels utövas av grupper som har sina rötter i lägre sociala klassen. Den ringa forskning som finns visar att personer som söker sig till amatörboxning ofta kommer från en segregerad miljö med begränsade ekonomiska resurser. I vissa fall avviker de från samhällets normer.

The purpose of this study was to examine the experience of organizational culture among salespeople at a specific workplace. The purpose was also to investigate what motivates these salespeople in their work and the impact culture has on their motivation. We have used a qualitative research method to collect the empirical material. With the help of seven interviews, including six salespeople from one of Sweden?s biggest electronic retailer and also one information interview with a sales consultant, we attempted to find the answer to how they perceive the organizational culture and how it affects their work motivation. The following questions are used to fulfill this purpose: ? How do the salespeople experience the organizational culture? ? What motivates the salespeople in their daily work? ? What effects does the organizational culture have on the salespersons motivation? As analytical tools we have used are the concept of organizational culture, Schein's description of the three components of culture and Herzberg Motivation-Hygiene theory. The results of the study indicate that the salespeople experience a positive organizational culture and that this culture promotes fellowship and unity between colleagues, which in turn contributes to an enhanced motivation.

Användningen av Internet och antalet nya tjänster ökar mer och mer. Internet är ett öppet system och för att Internet i högre utsträckning skall kunna användas även vid hantering av känslig information krävs bättre säkerhet. Syftet med denna rapport är att utifrån Karlskrona kommuns säkerhetspolicy samt medborgarnas åsikter om säkerhet, undersöka vilken eller vilka säkerhetslösningar som lämpar sig bäst vid den planerade 24-timmarsmyndigheten. I denna rapport undersöks vilken eller vilka av de alternativa medborgarcertifikat som myndigheter får använda sig av. Målet är att komma fram till en möjlig lösning för elektronisk identifiering inom den framtida, 24-timmarsmyndigheten inom Karlskrona kommun. För att genomföra denna utredning har vi använt oss av intervjuer, enkäter och litteraturstudier. Rapporten innehåller även bakgrundsfakta för att få en ökad förståelsen av innehållet.
