Designingenjörsstudenten Matilda Kälström har på Tibroköks uppdrag utvecklat ett sortiment för walk-in-closets där målgruppen för projektet är företagets befintliga kundkrets. Under projektets gång har en grundläggande förstudie gjorts för att bland annat ta reda på projektets förutsättningar, kartlägga konkurrenter och ta reda på vad kunder har för krav och önskemål. Exempel på krav och önskemål från kundernas sida var att produkten skall ge en överblick över innehållet och samla all klädvård på ett gemensamt ställe.  En litteraturstudie gjordes där det lästes om förvaring, människans relation till hemmet och om arkitektur. Information som framkom var bland annat att det är väldigt viktigt för människan att kunna utforma sitt hem efter egna behov och en bra riktlinje att strukturera förvaring på är efter var på kroppen kläderna används.En central del i projektet är Kansei Engineering, vilket är ett koncept för att koppla människor uppfattningar till produkters utformning.

Most of the portable electronic devices use a battery as a primary power source. Nowadays, when the applications are becoming smaller and smaller and more power efficient, the designer needs to concentrate more on reducing power consumption, using secondary power sources and introducing power storage devices. Multiple power source availability and a power storage device on the board will make the applications much more useful and efficient in everyday use. This thesis proposes a power supply unit (PSU) for wireless sensor platforms which is capable of supplying a sensor node with energy from multiple sources, as well as status information from the PSU. Present power storage devices, like electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and batteries, have become more and more common as their characteristics have developed.

Denna rapport behandlar vårt examensarbete som genomfördes i samarbete med Metso Dynapac. Uppdraget bestod av att ta fram ett högmonterat avgassystem för jordpackningsmaskinerna CA 252/302/402-Vibratory Roller. Dagens avgassystemsystem är bakåtmonterat och slutar under och bakom kylaren. Ett högmonterat avgassystem finns som tillbehör och fästes på det bakåtmonterade systemet. Problemet är att befintlig ljuddämparplacering försvårar kylluftens passage genom motorrummet,vilket får till följd att en onödigt stor fläkt krävs för att få tillräckligt luftflöde genom kylaren.

Mek Stans 07 is a machine developed for Tetra Pak in Lund as a 10p candidate theses project at Halmstad University. The commission behind the project involved development of a machine that punches holes in packages for the inspection division at Tetra Pak. The task for the machine was to facilitate the process of making openings for testing in the company?s other equipment. Researches on different methods of cutting, types of automatization and possible designs were made. To implement the project a design and construction from the base where chosen.

För att kunna bli pilot i kommersiell luftfart är första steget att utbilda sig. En pilotutbildning måste föregås av en medicinsk undersökning för att garantera en tillräckligt god fysisk hälsa hos den blivande piloten. Många utbildare kräver också att en person som vill utbilda sig till pilot genomgår en psykologisk lämplighetsprövning, i syfte att få en indikation på dennes personliga förutsättningar i övrigt för en lyckad utbildning och karriär inom pilotyrket. När utbildningen är genomförd är piloten redo för att se sig om efter arbete men den senaste tidens allmänna nedgång i flygbranschen har gjort det allt svårare för piloter att få anställning. Detta arbete har syftat till att ge en inblick i bakgrunden till den typ av lämplighetsprövning som genomförs inför utbildning, hur sådana prövningar värderas av arbetsgivare i branschen samt vad som i övrigt enligt arbetsgivare avgör om en pilot är aktuell för anställning..

Most often when developing a new system there is a need get a functioning testtool up and running. Including time, cost and resources the solution isn?t always obvious, developing your own or buy one ?of the shelf?. The purpose of this thesis is to study how a general testtool for executing functional tests should be designed to be reusable, be based on recognized knowledge and be able to fast and simple be customized for different types of systems. Key functions from the litterature is presented and used in the design of a testtool prototype.

Efter fyra månader som ljudpraktikant på det svenska spelföretaget Starbreeze i Uppsala, var det dags att ta steget vidare i ytterligare fyra månader. Från ljuddesign till scriptning, idéer och tankar, samt en inblick i hur scriptning fungerar. Detta arbete handlar om framtagandet av en ljuddesign-prototyp åt ett externt företags framtida spelprojekt. En utveckling som från början var tänkt att öka kunskaperna om scriptning, och att skapa ett sammanhängande spelscenario, men som sedan utvecklades till att leda mycket längre. Förklaring: Ljuddesign = Ljudläggning av någon form, i detta fall spel. This Batchelor?s Thesis concerns 20 points at the MDA-program (People, Computers and Work) at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Ronneby, Sweden. 10 points concerns Computer Science and 10 points Human Work Science. The thesis is about the process of starting a new department of Blekingesjukhuset [Blekinge Hospital] in Karlshamn, Blekinge called Sjukvårdsrådgivningen [Health Care Advice Bureau]. The thesis starts with a description of the ethnographical methods used, followed by the process of establishing the department. In this new department, the nurses are using a computer based system called Teleråd, developed by TietoEnator. The thesis takes up the issues of how the department uses this system today and concerns what ?user-friendliness? is.

Social ingenjörskonst är ett stort hot mot informationssäkerhet. Den här uppsatsen undersöker hur en attack går till, vilka som utgör hotet och vilka som utgör måltavlor, samt hur attackerna kan förebyggas. Hackaren framställs ofta som en ung man som drivs av nyfikenhet och får kickar av att manipulera och stjäla information. Den sociala ingenjören besitter även förmågan att manipulera människor på ett sätt som den traditionella hackaren saknar. Många spelar på mottagarens medkänsla, tacksamhet, lojalitet eller respekt för auktoriteter för att vinna förtroende. I takt med att den tekniska säkerhet förstärks är det troligt att fler väljer att använda människor istället för tekniken när de utför en attack.

This master?s thesis was written on the behalf of Saba Frukt och Grönt AB inHelsingborg and is the final part of the Master program in MechanicalEngineering at Halmstad University.The main task was to introduce visual control and increase the rate of concept intwo of the departments of the company. The goal is to come up withimplementation proposals, and if possible to implement one in the near future.The author attacks the problem by using the Six Sigma DMAIC-methodology as itis a clear and structured approach. As a complement Lean-inspired tools are used.After compiling the results from the interviews and benchmarking somesuggestions are made. These are reviewed with stakeholders and a discussion ofhow to go on further was held.

This report is a result of a diplomawork in construction engineering.The goal of this thesis is to highlighthow the work with planning andperformance management is done in theprojects at the Swedish buildingcontractor Skanska Väg & anläggning,region Stockholm/Mälardalen, districtMark Stockholm North, compared toSkanska?s policies.The comparison was made with focus onfive tools for productivity. The toolsare as follow: broken-down schedule,work sets, visual control, performancemanagement/progress monitoring and bestpractice.The study showed that the usage of thedifferent tools varied both within andbetween the different projects.Practically none of the projects whereusing the tools progress monitoring andbest practice, mostly due to fewoperations being applicable. The worksets are now mostly documented, but theyare rarely followed up. Performancemanagement is somewhat inconsequentialfor the moment, but during 2011 targetsheets will be introduced, withtemplates for setting up targets.Scheduling is one of the most importantworks regarding planning.

The company Olofsfors AB manufactures drive belts for forest machinery, known as ECO-Tracks, and abrasion-resistant steel and cutting edges for graders, excavators and tractors, known as Bruxite and SharqEdges. Manufacturing these products requires the steel to be heated and molded, then submerged in water and hardened. The water used in the hardening of steel is pumped to the process from pits below the floor and then pumped back to the pit after it?s been used. Since the temperature of this water rises after being used to harden the steel the temperature of the pumping pit needs to be adjusted to maintain its setpoint of 21°C.

To get the maximal output of your exercise in gym machines, there are different factorsto be considered. For example the strength of the muscle varies dependent on the positionof the muscles. To get the best results of the exercise the load has to reduce and increaseat specific positions.This study was made in cooperation with Caretaker Scandinavia AB, a company forsales, marketing and development in health care. They are general agent for Nordic Gymwho works with manufacturing of equipment and machines for gym and fitness.The aim of this study was to generate a method of measurement to evaluate and controlthe biomechanics of Nordic Gym´s workout equipment. A protocol for an ergonomicanalysis on the equipment has also been elaborated.One of the methods to measure the biomechanics was to measure the torque through thewhole movement.

Rapporten är en utvärdering av möjligheten att generera elektrisk energi från fjärrvärme med Seebeck-effekten och görs på uppdrag av Skellefteå Kraft. Kursen är examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i Elkraftteknik, 5EL210 vid institutionen tillämpad fysik och elektronik på Umeå Universitet under vårterminen 2014.En termoelektrisk generator fungerar enligt Seebeck-effekten och genererar en elektrisk spänning som är linjär mot temperaturskillnaden mellan sina två metallytor. För att få en temperaturskillnad så krävs ett kylmedium vilket skapar ett värmeflöde från den varma energikällan till kylmediumet. Utan kylmediumet så kommer temperaturerna gå mot samma värde. Ett kylmedium kan till exempel vara snö, markgrunden eller vattenradiatorer.
