Atlas Copco Tools develops and manufactures handheld industrial tools. Heat and surface treatments are used to provide the tools with certain properties. There are no routines for the choice of treatment or for how to specify treatment on drawings. Production documents that are sent for production abroad may not be clear enough. Some treatments are known as trademarks and there are no instructions for how to specify these on drawings and in CAD-models.The purpose of this master thesis work is to create recommendations for the procedure of choosing heat and surface treatment.

The cocoa produced in Fiji is exported to industrialized countries for processing of the raw material. The Swedish organization Cocoa Bello is involved in a project to provide the Fijian cocoa farmers with knowledge as well as resources to enable local processing and to attain added value of the cocoa crop. The purpose of this study is to discover a field of application for the Fijian cocoa among the rural population, using an ethnographic design. We spent one week in Namau Settlement, Fiji, where we applied in-depth interviews and participant obser-vations in six families. We found a number of aspects affecting food choices, such as social, economical and cultural beliefs.

Arbetet bygger på ett önskemål från sågverket VIDA Alvesta AB att hitta en konceptlösning för en sorteringsstation. Fyra olika koncept genererades och deras egenskaper jämfördes med varandra med hjälp av ett systemtänk för produktutveckling. Den konceptlösning som visade sig vara mest lämpad är en kombination av befintliga komponenter med en nyutvecklad komponent för att reducera en timmerstocks hastighet. Den nyutvecklade komponenten har dimensionerats och materialspecificerats..

Concentration of protein in bovine milk is one of the most significant milk quality parameters, to a large extent determining the price for milk to the producer. Mastitis is a common disease among dairy cows, negatively affecting not only milk yield but also milk protein composition. Milk from mastitic cows tends to have lower cheese yield, negatively affected processability properties and sensory quality, due to changed protein quality and composition. Poorer milk protein quality would have an economically negative impact on dairy industry. Only few studies have investigated the short term effects of mastitis on milk protein composition.

Heartwood has always been a desirable part of the tree, due to it?s superior decay qualities com-pared to the sapwood. How the formation of heartwood works has been known for a long time, but which factors that initiates and stimulates the production are poorly understood. This case study presents the results of a study in which silvicultural treatments and site properties had a key position as factors to the formation of heartwood. According to the hypothesis the amount of sapwood is directly controlled by the size of the crown.

The properties of this material has been studied and it was found that there is very little difference in what affect students in there choice of school, studies and career. Boys who choose hairdressing and styling differ more than girls who choose a career in technics. This is a surprising result which we didn´t expect. In researching background material we learned that it should differ more in perspective of gender. We have compiled the material around young people's choices to high school.

Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka hur sjuksköterskan kan använda empowerment i vård av unga. Det finns ett stöd i de vetenskapliga artiklar som granskats att använda sig utav empowerment i vård av ungdomar. Litteraturstudien visar att empowerment stärker ungdomar. Sjuksköterskan kan genom empowermentåtgärder understödja så att ungdomar får en bra start i livet. De empowermentåtgärder denna litteraturstudie resulterar i visar att sjuksköterskan genom undervisning direkt till ungdomar men också till vuxna i ungdomars omgivning, stödjer ungdomar i den förändring de går igenom, samt guidar dem till ett sunt hälsobeteende med hjälp av prevention.

Hospital Mergers have been proved to be troublesome, the most crucial ingredient is believed tobe the participation of members of the organization on all levels. When the hospital mergerbetween the hospital of Malmö and the hospital of Lund is a fact, it seems clear that knowledgeabout managing motivation is important. The knowledge could also lead to increased possibilitiesto improve support for motivation where needed at the hospital.I have through a literature review created a descriptive model of the theoretical view onmotivational factors for participation in change and their relationships. The theoretical modelwhere then tested in a empirical study in which additional data created a more true model of themotivation on participation at the hospital.The findings of the study show how the descriptive model illustrates how the twodifferent departments both work with a empowering philosophy that have built in properties thatenable the employees to gain more motivation. The model also underline the importance of thecommunication role to enlighten the employee in what, where, when and why the change takesplace.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka den antibakteriella effekten hos ett polyestertyg med tunna invävda koppartrådar. Frågeställningen som skulle besvaras var ifall koppartyget hade en baktericid eller bakteristatisk effekt. Koppartyget är ännu i prototypstadie och om det visar sig ha antibakteriella egenskaper är det tänkt att användas inom klinisk verksamhet för att förhindra bakterietillväxt i sår och andra känsliga lokaler. Koppar är ett essentiellt spårämne, men har också antimikrobiella egenskaper som utövas genom ett brett spektra av mekanismer där skador på cellmembranet är en av de viktigare. Metoderna som användes för att inokulera bakterier på tyget var absorptionsmetoden, där en näringsbuljong innehållande Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 pipetterades på tygproverna, och transfermetoden där tygproverna trycktes mot en agar som racklats med peptonsaltlösning innehållande S.

An investigation of the heat impact of laser cutting on the material properties when producing tensile and impact test specimens of different steel types of varying thickness has been performed. The purpose of the thesis project was to provide recommendations regarding how much material that needs to be milled from the laser cut edge before tensile and impact tests. The study has been performed partly by investigating the test specimens by heat camera when the specimens were cut in the laser cutting line and partly by performing hardness tests, investigation by microscopy, and tolerance and roughness measurements and tensile tests of the laser cut material and material produced in the traditional multi operation machine. The results show that the heat affected zone in the thicker materials is greater than previously thought of, and that the currently used recommendation has to be adjusted. The study clearly shows that the thicker the material, the greater the heat affected zone, independently of the steel type, since the thicker material takes longer time to cut.

Dagens avel är målinriktad. De flesta uppfödare siktar på att få fram internationellt konkurrenskraftiga hästar inom en speciell gren till exempel dressyr eller hoppning. De vill avla fram internationellt konkurrenskraftiga hästar med god exteriör, hållbarhet och som kan prestera bra på tävlingsbanorna. Man försöker tidigt urskilja inriktning, förmåga och om det blir en bra tävlingsindivid vid unghästbedömningar, så som tre-årstest, kvalitetsbedömning, och unghästchampionat.Hästen har flera egenskaper som kan vara till både fördel och nackdel beroende på ändamålet, vad är det egentligen som avgör om man har en bra hopphäst eller inte.Denna studie undersöker tre frågeställningar. Vilka egenskaper anser domarna och tränarna är avgörande för att det skall bli en bra hopphäst? Vilka vinklar är viktig för en bra frambens- och bakbensteknik? Finns det en samsyn hos våra domare/tränare när det gäller bedömning av unghästens teknik och förmåga?Denna studie riktade sig till unghästdomare och A-tränare i hoppning i Sverige, dessa fick svara på en enkät med fem frågor om hästens egenskaper, vilken vinkel som är avgörande i fram respektive bakbenstekniken, hur stor vikt i procent de lägger vid varje bedömningspunkt vid sin bedömning och fem filmsekvenser att bedöma, där de skulle sätta ett sifferbetyg 1-10 på totala tekniken, ett på frambenstekniken och ett på bakbenstekniken.
