This essay deals with the rationale and aims for doing cultural or aesthetic activities and projects in schools, and gives special focus to a specific group of students, attending schools provided at special residential homes for young people (sa?rskilda ungdomshem). These homes receive young people with psychosocial and substance misuse problems and who show tendencies towards criminal behavior. The essay investigates how working with a cultural project in schools at these residential homes is justified and also elucidates how this specific group of students and their problems are constructed in the documents surrounding the project. The essay will further ponder over possible educational and pedagogical consequences of these constructions.The investigation has its theoretical frame work in curriculum theory.

Since the 1990?s the Swedish school system has undergone major and recurring structural reforms. Two of the most comprehensive changes has been the shift of primary schools as an integral part of the welfare state to the responsibility of the municipalities as well as the introduction of free school choice for the students. Through two months of participant observations and semi-structured interviews this thesis seeks to answer the question of how these reforms has come to effect the work of teachers in a medium sized public school in a small municipality in the outskirts of Stockholm. Earlier research has shown that public schools in socio-economically vulnerable areas are disadvantaged due to the reformation of the school system (Beach & Sernhede, 2011; Östh, Andersson, & Malmberg, 2013).

The aim of this study is to describe and examine the characteristics of inclusion of children with disabilities in the kinder garden and primary school in Belarus. The data in this study were collected through interviews with special teachers and staff at the Developing and Rehabilitation center. The interviews were supported by child-observations and a literature study. Staying in boarding schools prevents handicap students from integrating with the society as well as getting social experience. Integrated education demands the combination of two regularities: education of children with normal development and special education of children with psycho-physiological problems.

Native spider silk is an attractive lightweight natural polymeric material with a unique combination of strength, extendibility and flexibility. Synthetic, recombinant spider silk is an attractive biomaterial with several possible fields of application. When a foreign material is introduced to blood, this can for example cause unwanted coagulation and complement activation. The aim of this study was to investigate if coatings of heparin or albumin could improve the blood compatibility of films of recombinant spider silk and to develop an initial method to do so. Hypothetically, objects like pacemakers, stents and dental implants could be covered with spider silk films of high blood compatibility to reduce potentially harmful foreign body reactions caused by the immune defense. Increased blood compatibility would likely lead to improvements for both the individual patients and the society thanks to reduced load on healthcare institutions. Our objective was to assess the blood compatibility of both functionalized and non-functionalized recombinant spider silk by evaluating coagulation and activation of the complement system of the immune defense. Coagulation was evaluated visually on glass slides and complement activation was analyzed by measuring the concentration of the complement system mediator C3a in blood samples that had been exposed to the different materials. This study introduces a non-toxic and easy performed method of improving the blood compatibility of recombinant spider silk films by adding a heparin coating. Heparin coated surfaces had statistically significantly higher blood compatibility than uncoated surfaces. The effects of albumin coating of films were less clear compared to the results of heparin coated films. Complement activation could not be evaluated because of high activation in all samples prior contact with the materials that were included in the study..

Wastewater handling of private sewage systems has become an all increasing matter. In Stockholm region the 90 000 private sewage systems contribute with larger phosphorus flows to the Baltic Sea than the two biggest sewage plants in the area, Henriksdal and Käppala, contribute together, even though these two plants purify wastewater from more than one million inhabitants. When summer house areas turn into areas for permanent living ? transition areas ? the load on the existing systems increases, systems that already often are unsatisfying. Uppsatsen är ett resultat av en explorativ studie som undersöker projektledarens uppfattning av interaktionsdesign ur ett resursperspektiv. Detta görs genom en kvalitativ undersökning med projektledare för systemutvecklingsprojekt. Utifrån vilka det gjordes en nulägesrapport om hur vida resurserna som läggs på interaktionsdesign är adekvata. För att få en ytterligare aspekt på behovet intervjuades även en interaktionsdesignskonsult. Studiens resultat visade att det skiljer sig mellan olika typer av projekt hur vidare tillräckligt med resurser läggs ner på interaktionsdesign.

Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på om läxor ger fördjupad kunskap inom ett ämne. Vidare vill vi veta vad syftet med läxor är. Vi har genomfört femton intervjuer, jämt fördelade mellan lärare, elever och föräldrar. Resultatet pekar på att läxor behövs, men att eleverna vill ha en annan typ av hemuppgifter än de i nuläget har. Vi genomförde även mindre studie på sex av våra egna barn för att få veta hur mycket tid de trodde sig lägga på sina läxor och hur lång tid de i verkligheten ägnade åt läxläsning. Vår slutsats är att om läxor ges, ska de vara väl genomtänkta och att det kan skapas utrymme för att göra läxorna under skoldagen. Nyckelord: läxor, kreativitet, individ, variation.

Vår studie varkoncentrerad på skillnaden mellan Use Cases så som vi uppfattat Rational UnifiedProcess (RUP) modell jämfört med Telecas återanvändbara Use Cases. The purpose of this study was to investigate the understanding of the diagnoses ADHD and DAMP within different professional categories in the educational system, how it is being addressed and how this affect their work with children diagnosed with ADHD or DAMP. We also wanted to shed some light on the debate between Kärfve and Gillberg, about whether the diagnoses of ADHD and DAMP are social constructed problems or biological and genetic disorders. More specifically, our study was of a qualitative nature and consisted of interviews with seven persons working in six different professions within the educational system. The respondents all worked in school environments but with varied roles and thus varied experience of children with ADHD/DAMP. The interviews and literature studies revealed the complexity of ADHD and DAMP and also the diversity of the debate regarding the diagnoses.

The purpose of this study was to gain greater knowledge of how preschool teachers and children using an experimental- and activity box in biology. To find this out, I have used the participant observation method and semi-structured interviews since my study is qualitative. The result of the work led to a greater understanding of the biologybox. It was shown that preschool teachers' involvement is very important for children and that the biologybox contained good and inspiring materials.
