Uppsatsen behandlar frågan om huruvida högre takt i produktivitetsutvecklingen påverkar sysselsättningsgraden negativt i en ekonomi då förbättringar i arbetsbesparande teknologi medför lägre efterfrågan på arbete. Frågeställningen har uppkommit med jämna mellanrum genom historien sedan den första industriella revolutionen utan att något långsiktigt samband kunnat bekräftas. Uppsatsens undersökning av 10 OECD länder mellan 1979 och 2003 finner inte heller stöd för ett sådant långsiktigt samband. Däremot finns starkt stöd för att produktivitetsutveckling har negativ inverkan på sysselsättningen på både kort och medelfristig sikt. Utifrån detta kan arbetstillfällen räddas på kort och medelfristig sikt men inte på lång sikt då de, inom tillverkningssektorn och även generellt, ser ut att minska oavsett takten i produktivitetsutvecklingen.

The concepts of environmental scanning and Business Intelligence have gained increased interest over the last years in a number of different organisational contexts. The research in this field has mainly been dealing with methods and issues regarding organisation but the aim of environmental scanning, the forming of new perspectives, has been largely ignored. The purpose of this thesis is to study how Swedish joint-stock banks put environmental scanning and Business Intelligence into practice. First a literature study is made to create a background and to explain the different conceptions. Then I describe the different functions of the different services in Swedish joint-stock banks.

Den ekonomiska utvecklingen i Botswana var fram till mitten på 1990-talet en av världens snabbaste. Från att ha varit ett av de tio fattigaste länderna i världen utvecklades landet till ett av Afrikas rikaste och klassas nu som ett medelinkomstland. Denna uppsats ska försöka reda ut vilka några av de makroekonomiska konsekvenserna är för ett land där en av fyra bär på den livshotande sjukdomen.

Uppsatsen, Bulgariens väg mot EU ? en studie om handel och specialisering ? , undersöker de ekonomiska effekter som Europaavtalet har medfört för Bulgariens del. Avtalet etablerade ett frihandelsområde mellan Bulgarien och EU och syftade till att förbereda landet för ett framtida EU-medlemskap. Vidare verkade Europaavtalet för ett främjande av handelsutbytet mellan de två parterna genom handelsliberalisering. The rapid and unpredictable change is hade to analyze and forecast which demands more short-term forecasting. The issue for this dissertation is based upon the demand of more flexible ways of doing business in the bank sector in Sweden, which is a turbulent and unpredictable market. Handelsbanken is a company that uses the so called Beyond budgeting concept and the dissertation is about this company?s ability to solve the economic governance without the traditional budgeting process.

In this essay I reflect on a situation where I as a preschool teacher amworried about a child whose behavior I cannot understand nor recognize. The situation is characterized by the fact that I cannot explain my worries to my colleagues. I also discuss why different pedagogues understand the same situation differently, the importance of children´s play and how it creates opportunities to social interactionThrough my reflections I can understand my concern and show that it is justified.  I also discuss the act of reflection as a method. Reflecting is a way to increase or knowledge. But I also claim that reflection might be used collectively by reflecting together we might increase our shared understanding and also find out how to proceed with our common work.The conclusion is that reflection is an important tool for us pedagogues when we want to increase our understanding and our knowledge.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine whether addicted in society maintain their personal dignity. Many studies about this issue have beenfocused on how hard it is to be an addicted, but few have focused on how an addicted handle this situation. Our preconception before this study was that addicts are a stigmatized group not treated with dignity. With this as starting point, our aim has been to let the addicted with their own words describe how they handle their situation and witch strategies they use to uphold their dignity.Method: A qualitative approach is used; we have condicted five semi structured in- depth interviews. The information we have obtained through interviews, we have in the analysis weighed against the theories we believe are relevant to our preconception.We have then categorized the collected information after those themes we found central in the interviews and which we have found can be related to the main questions of this study.Result: The results show many strategies about how people with drug- and alcohol abuse handle their situation.

This thesis investigates if a system for small scale electricity production located in anurban environment can be profitable. The work has been divided up into two parts,one extensive literature study and one case study. The purpose of the literature studywas to investigate the area, resulting in a choice of which technology to be studied indepth in a case study.In the case study a system containing small scale wind turbines and photovoltaicsmounted on Gränby Centrums roof was examined. From data containing wind power,wind direction and total irradiation, possible production from a system weresimulated. Three products of each technology were examined in the simulations.From the simulated production an economic analysis was carried out, this toinvestigate if a system is profitable.

Detta arbete handlar om varför utbytesstudenter som kommer till Luleå tekniska universitet har valt att studera just där samt hur de upplever sin situation vad gäller studiesituation, socialt liv, traditioner, fritid och personlig utveckling. Föreligger det skillnader med avseende på kön, civilstånd, nationalitet samt hur lång tid de vistats i Luleå? En enkät på engelska skickades ut via e-post samt utdelades i ett klassrum. Resultaten visade att det var främst motiv som kan förknippas med inre motivation som var av betydelse för att studera i Sverige och Luleå. Signifikanta skillnader mellan kvinnliga och manliga studenter påträffades.

This essay reviews the situation for real estate agencies within the Stockholm area. In this essay we assume that costumer loyalty is a requirement for survival on the competitive estate market. Two actors have been compared; A well known national Internet-based agency, Skandia Mäklarna, and a smaller local traditional agent Mäklarfirman Grönberg. These actors have been analyzed up on theories on loyalty, relationship marketing, service marketing, quality and involvement .The conclusion of the essay is that it is possible for small estate agencies to compeed with larger Internet based agencies by building loyal relationships with their customers. This can be achieved if the right strategic decisions are made.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka varför Afrika har haft så dålig tillväxt de senaste sexton åren jämfört med resten av världen. Paneldata från 41 afrikanska länder mellan åren 1989 och 2004 används för att undersöka åtta variablers påverkan på den ekonomiska tillväxten. Variablerna som ska granskas är sparande, humankapital, inflation, inflation i kvadrat, bistånd, öppenhet, jämställdhet och aids. Fokus ligger på aids och jämställdhet, eftersom de inte varit föremål för tidigare empirisk forskning i samma utsträckning som de andra variablerna. Regressioner gjordes dels över ett treårsintervall och dels över ett femårsintervall för att undersöka hur variablerna påverkar tillväxten för olika tidsperioder.

AbstractThis text deals with one of the preschool everyday routine chores, and the phenomenon I have chosen to investigate is the hallway situation. The purpose of the study was to see if the hallway situation offers good communicative interactions between children and teachers, and investigate if the teachers use special strategies to make the hallway situation work. The method of this study was survey, qualitative interviews and observations. The three methods have deliberately been selected to best suite and reply to the different issues.Today?s groups of children in preschool are very big, and some of the preschools are not adapted to these large groups of children that we have today.

Our thesis focus on how retirees perceive Tv4s news casts of economy news where we focused on five different aspects: What is the relationship between the news cast and the viewer and how does the viewer express their understanding of the news cast and the way it is constructed? What are the viewers attitude towards the news content and how do they find the news cast useful for them personally?We choosed retirees as our target group due to their vulnerable economic position in today?s society and TV as an important medium for them due to the digital divide. The study was performed with twelve qualitative interviews and one group interview where six retirees took part.We discovered a big interest for economic news in the target group. The majority had a sympathetic view of the news cast they saw but they also expressed skepticism toward the economy segment and/or news castings. The majority expressed a lack of trust for the journalists and the experts brought in to share observations and make announcements, and the financial business overall.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to examine how Greece?s migration system functions and how immigration and asylum policies manifest themselves during the countries current severe economic crisis. More precisely, examining how the regulatory framework and policies regarding refugees' and migrant situation effects practical implementation. The research questions raised are; - How are refugees and other migrants' rights in Greece respected, from a legal, political and moral perspective? What impact can racism have on the treatment of refugees and other migrants? A contextual analysis of ideas through an analysis of the political programs/agendas was used and contrasted, through theories concerning racism, nationalism and globalization to further nuance the situation concerning refugees' rights.

This study aim to investigate the conditions framing the professional development situation for physical education teachers (PE) in a small municipality in the south of Sweden. The Swedish National Agency for Education declare that "focus must be directed towards strengthening the teachers' profession", and that "schools need well-trained teachers and good teaching to help students achieve good results". The study focuses both the schools? contribution and the way in which the teachers take own initiative and are motivated to develop their professional skills. The investigation is all based on teachers' perspectives.
