Mätning av ekosystemtjänster i jordbrukslandskapet :

Abstract In order to make the modern agriculture less dependent on non-renewable external inputs, it has to rely more on ecosystem services. The agricultural system produce not only food, fiber and fuel, it also generates other ecosystem services such as e.g. photosynthesis, recycling of nutrients, influencing local microclimate, pollination, biological control and detoxification of noxious chemicals. This study is an attempt to get a better understanding about the interaction among different ecosystem services and different habitats capacity to generate them. An evaluation of eight different methods is done. The ecosystem services studied are the ability to absorb solar energy, biomass production, botanical diversity, decomposition and natural predation of aphids.

Varning för stereotyper : en studie med syfte att urskilja och diskutera identitet

Through this thesis I aimed to further investigate how we can adapt our western and modern views of masculinity and femininity in an ancient population, here on the Pitted Ware population from Ajvide on Gotland. A questionnaire survey was used to compile the modern view of masculinity and femininity. This modern view was then compared with patterns which had become visible through statistical processing of the burial gifts found on Ajvide. The thesis is mainly focused around the concept of gender, but age and status have also been discussed. Through several performed correspondence analysis, it became clear that the current view of male and female differed from the one that became visible in the archaeological record.

Motiverande läxor, vad är det?- åtta elevers förhållningssätt till läxor

Syftet med vår undersökning är att få kunskap om hur elever förhåller sig till läxor och vilkafaktorer som bidrar till att de anser sig motiverade att arbeta med läxor. Vi valde enhalvstrukturerad intervju för ändamålet. Till grund för undersökningen har vi tidigareforskning kring läxor samt olika motivationsteorier. Vi använder oss även av olikalärandeteorier samt skolans läroplaner för att se hur dessa berör motivation och läxor. Dehuvudsakliga resultaten av vår undersökning visar att elever ville ha och tycker om läxor.Läxorna ger eleverna en positiv identitet och en status.

Friluftsliv : En jämförande tvärsnittsstudie om ungdomars friluftsaktivitetsvanor

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur förekomsten av friluftsaktiviteter på idrottslektionerna har förändrats från 2001 till 2012 i ett antal skolor i Stockholmsområdet som tidigare ingått i SIH-projektet. Ett ytterligare syfte var att undersöka hur ungdomars friluftsaktivitetsvanor på fritiden har förändrats från 2001 till 2012 och hur dessa vanor samvarierar med socioekonomisk status.-          Hur har förekomsten av friluftsaktiviteter under idrottsundervisningen förändrats?-          Hur har ungdomars utövande av friluftsaktiviteter på fritiden förändrats?-          Vilken socioekonomisk status har ungdomarna som utövar friluftsaktiviteter på fritiden?-          Hur har ungdomar med låg respektive hög socioekonomisk status utövande av friluftsaktiviteter på fritiden förändrats?  Metod: Den metod vi använde oss av var kvantitativ. Data samlades in med hjälp av enkäter som besvarades av elever i årskurs nio på fem skolor i Stockholmsområdet år 2012 (247 respondenter). Sedan tidigare fanns det insamlad data från SIH-projektet från 2001(63 respondenter) med elever i samma årskurs och skolor som vi vänt oss till.

Fosforförluster från lantbruket och dess bidrag till övergödning av sjöar och vattendrag i Växjö kommun

The possibility for plants to utilize phosphorus in soil is a prerequisite for conducting agricultural production, both small scale and professional. Spreading of phosphorus fertilizers and manure is therefore seen as a necessity in today's agriculture in order to achieve high yield. Manure management, livestock farming and manure storage could contribute to the eutrophication of lakes and rivers. For instance, when the ground becomes saturated, phosphorus leakage could be seen in surface runoff or in point sources resulting from inadequate manure storage management.In the municipality of Växjö there is still many bodies of water that do not reach the Swedish environmental water quality standard of "good Ecological status". This thesis has therefore analyzed the manure management and storage on agricultural farms which may have contributed to eutrophication in the municipality.The method for this thesis was a literature study, a questionnaire survey with 820 receivers and a summary of issued inspection reports from 2013.The results highlight the ways in which agriculture may have contributed to the eutrophication of lakes and streams in the municipality of Växjö.

Svensklärares uppfattningar om lärarprofessionalism.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur svensklärare tänker kring lärarprofessionalism och en professionalisering av läraryrket. Metoden för undersökningen består av kvalitativa intervjuer som gjordes på fem verksamma svensklärare. Undersökningen ger framförallt en bild av hur svensklärare ser på sitt yrke som profession. Det framkommer även meningsskiljaktigheter bland lärarna vad gäller en professionalisering av läraryrket. Professionaliseringen som görs i form av en lärarlegitimation, jämförs med decentraliseringen av skolan på 90-talet.

Riskfaktorer för förlossningsdepression samt förebyggande åtgärder ? En litteraturbaserad studie

Introduction: Approximately one in eight women suffer from postpartum depression, which can affect them for a period of weeks or even years. Postpartum depression does not only affect the mother, it also has a negative influence on the rest of the family. Postpartum depression can also lead to negative consequences for the development of the infant. It is an illness that is still considered a taboo, a fact that makes it hard to identify among women who are affected. Aim: The aim of the study was to examine cases where there is a connection between social economic status (SES) and the presence of postpartum depression.

This paper aims to deepen the understanding of how the European Council frames the climate crisis and its implications for political legitimacy and policymaking. The climate crisis is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, influencing not only environmental systems but also societal structures and governance. By analyzing the European Council?s framings during the 2019?2024 strategic agenda, this research investigates how political actors shape narratives to justify actions and policies in response to the climate crisis. Through a discourse analysis of official Council conclusions, using a framework drawing on six typologies of framing, the research examines the Council's evolving narrative in the context of multiple crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

The higher status homestead called Kullen is located on top of a small hill just outside of Hova in V?stra G?taland. The house stands on a plateau surrounded by a stonewall. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the researcher experiences its role in real life in relation to the field of education and adult learning. The context of the study is the academic department of education and adult learning in Swedish institutions. This is a qualitative study, inspired by Grounded Theory. Data consist of interviews, texts from policy documents and reports. Both the aspects gender and context have been taken into consideration.

Undersökning av ackommodationsförmåga och brytningsfel hos varmblodiga travare :

Skiascopy is used to objectively determine the refractive power of the eye. Except for a Swedish study in 2007, where 93 horses of different breeds and ages were examined with respect to their refractive status, most studies on equine refraction were published about one century ago or more. The objective of this study is to examine the refractive status of healthy warm-blooded trotting horses. Skiascopy was performed in 117 horses in total, aged 3 days to approximately 22 years old. In a pilot study, it was determined whether young horses were able to accommodate or not during skiascopy. The horses in the pilot study were all younger than 14 months. In foals younger than 1,5 months we saw a significant difference in the skiascopy result in the right eyes before and after topical atropine was instilled, but not in the left eye.

EU:s omställning till en hållbar jordbruksnäring

Cultivable land is a limited resource and agriculture contributes to some of the most serious environmental problems facing the planet like, global warming, eutrophication and loss of biodiversity. The specialized, industrial agriculture with monoculture and extensive input of external energy, commercial fertilizer, and chemical pesticides are all essentially unsustainable. An adaptation to other methods of production is necessary to preserve the environment for future generations. The aim of this study is to describe the factors that distinguish sustainable from unsustainable agriculture. The results will be used to examine if and how the European Union (EU) works in order to create a more sustainable agricultural industry and to analyze the preconditions for such development.

Hälsa ? vad är det? : En studie om elevers syn på hälsa i olika socioekonomiska klasser

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien är att undersöka högstadieelevers syn på hälsa och om denna uppfattning skiljer sig mellan socioekonomiska klasser.Vilken betydelse har fysisk och psykisk hälsa enligt eleverna i de olika skolorna samt vilka faktorer påverkar elevernas välbefinnande enligt dem själva?Vilka likheter och skillnader finns mellan socioekonomiska faktorer och elevers syn på hälsa?Hur ser föräldrarnas och barnens aktivitetsnivå ut i olika socioekonomiska klasser?På vilket sätt arbetar skolorna med hälsa utifrån ett lärarperspektiv och skiljer det sig mot elevernas uppfattning?MetodMetoden som studien bygger på är en kvantitativ enkätundersökning samt kvalitativa intervjuer med två idrottslärare. De namn skolorna har i studien är fingerade. Etternässlaskolan är placerad i norra Stockholm i en kommun med låg socioekonomisk status medan Kungsljusskolan är placerad centralt i östra Stockholm, i en kommun med hög socioekonomisk status. Det var 414 elever i årskurs 7-9 som svarade på enkäten och 407 svar var fullständiga.ResultatResultaten visar att elevernas syn på fysisk hälsa fokuserar på kroppens rörelser och att vara frisk ? på utsidan.

The Legal Significance of Sustainable Development in EC Law

In June 2006 the Council of the European Union agreed on the review of the EU sustainable development strategy. This renewed strategy voices a commitment to sustainable development that includes a diverse list of safeguarded interests. Sustainability is to be attained in the spheres of democracy, solidarity, the rule of law, gender equality and at the same time it should promote a dynamic economy. Given this multifunctional application of sustainable development, curiosity may soon give rise to questions such as; What is the legal significance of the concept? Is it to be considered a general principle of Community law? And can it be used as an instrument in adjudication and legal reasoning? Anyone who looks deeper into the concept of sustainable development is soon to find a labyrinthine complex of ideas, expressions and opinions.

En legitimering av läraryrket : Kan det höja statusen?

In May 2008, the Swedish Government proclaimed several proposals in order to increase the status of the teaching profession. One of the proposals was that each teacher should be obligated to obtain a "teaching license" to be allowed to teach. The license/certification will guarantee that the teacher has the sufficient knowledge of pedagogy and subject obtained from University. The existing teachers who do not hold a proper certification today will be given a certain time period to attain one. The teachers that are certificated teachers but that are giving lessons in subjects not certificated in will be given a chance to obtain the proper knowledge of the subject.
