Pharmaceuticals are environmental pollutants that are a major threat to aquatic ecosystems and very little is known about their ecological consequences. In this study growth, survival and behaviour (sociability, activity and boldness) of perch fry (Perca fluviatilis) were examined in order to study the possible effects of exposure to a benzodiazepine anxiolytic drug, Oxazepam, during embryonic development. The study tested following hypotheses: (1) perch growth is affected positively by exposure during embryonic development; (2) early perch survival is affected positively by exposure during embryonic development; and (3) boldness and activity increases while sociability decreases in perch fry exposed during embryonic development. Embryos of naturally spawned perch were exposed to water with two different concentrations of Oxazepam. The embryos were exposed during different parts (24-hour periods) of the embryonic development, because embryos may be more vulnerable at certain times during embryonic development and/or because the exposure at different times can produce different effects.

Bakgrund Med en befolkning som blir allt äldre är det viktigt att ha kunskaper kring hurohälsosamma levnadsvanor är fördelade bland äldre individer. Hälsobeteenden hos äldre,såsom alkoholkonsumtion och rökning, riskerar att bli en stor kostnad för samhället blandannat i form av sjukvårdskostnader. För att kunna planera det framtida sjukvårdsbehovet,samt för att ge kunskap kring vart förebyggande åtgärder är mest behövliga, krävs enförståelse kring hur de hälsoskadliga levnadsvanorna är fördelade i befolkningen. SyfteSyftet för denna uppsats är att undersöka hur socioekonomisk status vid olika tillfällen ilivsspannet är kopplat till alkoholkonsumtion och rökning hos äldre. Metod Med hjälp avnationellt representativt datamaterial från de longitudinella undersökningarna SWEOLD ochLNU har information från 982 individer, 77 år och äldre, analyserats med hjälp av logistiskaregressioner.

Denna uppsats är en studie i divination som användes i fornnordisk, samisk, irländsk-keltisk, grekisk och romersk religion. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka om det finns något som kan sägas vara typiskt inom den fornnordiska divinationsformen. De teman jag koncentrerat mig på för att besvara dessa frågor är status, roll, genus, metod och plats. De metoder jag använt mig av är deskriptiv och komparativ litteraturstudie. Dessutom tillämpas hermeneutisk metod.

Detaljhandelsarbete har målats upp som ett lågstatusyrke i såväl media, litteratur, som av branschen själv under alla de tre år som vi har studerat Retail Management vid Lunds Universitet. Med hjälp av teorier kring status och angränsande begrepp, samt intervjuer med företrädare för både arbetsgivar- och arbetstagarorganisationer försöker vi i denna studie finna svar på vad som förklarar varför arbete inom detaljhandeln har den status det har. Vi söker också svar på varför branschen vill höja statusen samt vilka åtgärder som vidtas, och kan vidtas, för att lyckas med detta.I uppsatsen förklaras detaljhandelsarbetets låga status med att det är en bransch som kännetecknas av obekväma arbetstider, många deltidsanställningar, kvinnodominans, en stor andel okvalificerade arbetsuppgifter samt en låg lönenivå.Denna studie visar också att de olika branschaktörerna har delvis olika motiv till att vilja höja statusen. Arbetsgivarsidan ser en höjd status som en möjlighet till att attrahera fler sökande med högre kompetens till branschen vilket förbättrar företagens konkurrenskraft, medan arbetstagarsidan, representerade av fackförbunden, ser en möjlighet till förbättrade arbetsvillkor. För att uppnå statusmålet vill arbetsgivarsidan tydliggöra karriärvägarna inom detaljhandeln samt öka den formella kompetensnivån.

En sund livsstil är en förutsättning för att uppnå en god folkhälsa bland alla befolkningar oavsett land. Befolkningens olika levnadsvanor som t.ex. rökning-, alkohol- och fysisk aktivitet skiljer sig åt mellan olika grupper beroende på inkomst, utbildning och sysselsättning. Därmed skiljer sig hälsan mellan olika socioekonomiska grupper i samhället. Tidigare studier har visat att en ohälsosam livsstil tenderar att finnas hos de mest utsatta socioekonomiska grupperna.

This paper deals with three mediaeval churches in the town Visby, Gotland. These churches were located in different areas in Visby. Allegedly the areas where St Hans and Ste Gertrud were located were inhabited by wealthier people, and the more peripheral area where St Mikael was located was where the poor lived. Therefore, the people that were buried at St Mikael should be of lower social status than the people buried at St Hans and Ste Gertrud. Based on the fact that an individuals diet was dependant on his or hers social status, dietary studies on skeletal remains from the three different churches have been conducted to find out dietary patterns among the individuals buried at each church respectively.

Studien har undersökt om motorisk anpassad träning ger någon observerbar effekt på elever med motoriska brister som har idrott och hälsa två gånger per vecka. Elever i skolår 2 (7 ? 8 år) observerades vid två tillfällen med sju månaders mellanrum på två snarlika skolor. För att mäta och registrera motoriskt status användes MUGI observationsschema. Materialet i studien omfattade 75 elever.

På grund av vårt privata intresse för och användningen av det sociala nätverket Facebook, ville viundersöka en av dess funktioner närmare; statusuppdateringarna.Vi tror att Facebook är på väg att bli något som många inte klarar sig utan, eller inte vill vara utan. Facebook har helt enkelt kommit att få en stor betydelse för väldigt många människor i deras dagliga kommunikation och interaktion med andra, och just statusuppdateringarna är en viktig del av detta.Syftet med vår undersökning var att studera hur statusuppdateringar på Facebook ser ut. Vidare ville vi även undersöka anledningarna till varför individer uppdaterar sin status på Facebook, samt hur andra användares statusuppdateringar eventuellt påverkar dessa individer. Frågeställningarna vi ville besvara var; vilket tematiskt innehåll har våra insamlade statusuppdateringar, vilka anledningar ser våra informanter till att uppdatera sin status, samt hur uppfattar våra informanter andras statusuppdateringar på Facebook?Metoderna vi valde för att uppfylla vårt syfte och besvara våra frågeställningar var en tematisk analys av 393 insamlade statusuppdateringar från Facebook, samt två kvalitativa fokusgruppsintervjuer med tre informanter i vardera.

The textile business is one of the oldest industries of our time, and it employs nearly 1.4 million workers within the European Union alone. It is not unusual that this is the foundation of a country?s industrialisation. Even though the industry brings many positive factors, there are also negative factors that will influence the industry?s growth in the future.

Environmental objective 17: Sustainable consumption - An attempt to integrate the global impact of the Swedish consumption with the environmental objectives system The aim of this report was to integrate the global impact of the Swedish consumption withthe environmental objectives system through presenting a suggestion for a seventeenth environmental objective ? Sustainable consumption. How the Swedish consumption pressures the global environment and methods to measure the affects was investigated. The pressure was divided into five main fields: climate, air, water, land and chemicals. The impacton humans and the biodiversity was also discussed, as well as differences between how men and women affect the environment and get affected when the environment changes.

This report is commissioned by the Water and Sewage Agency in The City of Mariehamn, Åland. The basic aim is to investigate positive or negative effects of a relocation of the sewage pipe from a wastewater treatment plant, Lotsbroverket. The environmental licence of Lotsbroverket is to be revised and The Environmental Appeal Board at Åland?s Government and Administrative Board has made demands that several possible locations in an outer water area should be examined. The present location of the sewage pipe is in Svibyviken, which has been classified as an ?inner water area?.The objective of this work is to study to which extent the nutrient loading from Lotsbroverket influence the environmental conditions in Svibyviken, and to investigate the suitability of different locations of the wastewater pipe from Lotsbroverket.The way a coastal area looks, i.e., its morphometry, determines to a large extent its ecological characteristics.

Stormwater in urban areas has been treated as a problem for a long time. The large proportion of impermeable surfaces inhibits the water from infiltrating in the ground to the same extent that it does in nature. This causes intensive surface flow during rain, which in turn causes inconveniences such as decreased accessability, floods and increased risk of desease spreading. Drainage through pipes is the traditional and usually functional metod for storm water disposal. That is as long as water flows are moderate. But precipitation varies naturally in amount and intensity and additional impermeable surfaces make some pipes insufficient for heavy or lasting precipitation.

The construction and real estate industry represents a significant part of Sweden's total impact on the environment and mainly affects the following national environmental objectives: reduced climate impact, a good built environment and a non-toxic environment. By establishing internal rules, companies within the industry can reduce their environmental impact. SMT (AB Sandvik Materials Technology), a part of the industrial group Sandvik AB, has set a target that during 2014 develop a guiding document with special consider to the environmental impact during construction of office buildings, that they establish at the Swedish regional capital Sandviken, for both internal and external tenants. This study therefore aims to clarify which environmental aspects that the construction and real estate sector mainly are responsible for, and therefore should be part of a guiding document for a company for establishing office buildings, and to present arguments regarding the use of such a document. The study is based on literature studies and personal contact with other companies, in the form of e-mail conversations and a telephone interview.
