Modellering och simulering av det evaporativa bränslesystemet i en personbil
This thesis work has been performed at the department of diagnosis and dependability at Volvo Car Company, Torslanda. The background of this project is based on interest in ascertaining how different factors possibly can affect a diagnosis method, which has been developed to find leaks in the fuel tank and evaporation system. According to the OBD II requirements leaks with an orifice diameter larger or equal to 0,5 mm, must be detected. The idea of the diagnosis method is to create an over pressure in the system with an air-pump. The current through the pump is measured and correlates to the power consumed by the pump.

This bachelor thesis aims at investigate how a specified house can optimize its energy consumption.Today the house often stands for the major part of the energy consumption in a consumers? life,whereas an energy optimization creates economic as well as environmental advantages. It is importantto make old houses more energy efficient, but putting high energy demands on new houses could beargued to be more important. The installations functions as both the heart and brain in a house, thusmaking it important to energy optimize these. Since the background describes the importance ofenergy efficiency and optimization in a house, the focus area of this report will be an investigation ofdifferent types of heating systems in order to be able to choose the one most suited for the house.Aspects considered when choosing the heating system was how economic the system is both inservice- and investment costs and how environmental and operational friendly the system is.Through literature reviews there were sufficient information gathered that served as a foundation whencomparing and choosing between the four systems - district heating, pellet-fired boiler, geothermalheating and solar heating.
Klassiska och Nya Handelsteorier : med fokus på EU:s handelsavtal samt nav-och-eker system
I uppsatsen undersöker jag hur handelsavtal påverkar handelsströmmarna mellan länder. Engenomgång av de olika handelsteorierna görs med en början hos de klassiska teorierna för attdärnäst gå vidare med de nya handelsteorierna. Utgångspunkten i uppsatsen är teorin om navoch-eker system med fokus på Barcelona processen, avtalet mellan EU och Chile samtavtalet mellan EU och Ryssland. Här kan det påvisas att handel påverkas positivt när länderingår avtal med varandra. För att få den största effekten på handel krävs ett samarbete utöverett borttagande av tullar mellan länderna men eftersom det tar ett tag att anpassa sig till denya förhållandena som ett avtal innebär är det svårt att på ett tidigt stadium avgöra avtaletseffekter.

One aspect of this is the somewhat revitalized claim for direct democracy in accordance with the hypothetical opportunity to finally realize it as a democratic system. The ideal of direct democracy combined with the almost total credence in the potential of technology constitute the idea of a ?push-button democracy?.
Mobilt övervakningssystem : System för internetkommunikation mellan sensorer, webbsida, server och databas
This thesis has been carried out in cooperation with a company which develops mobile sensor platforms. The sensors measure different types of data such as temperature, pressure etc.. They will communicate through the internet with a server that stores data in a database. This system will be controlled and monitored through a web page. The project's aim has been to develop this system and to implement a server, a database, a website and a client application that simulates sensor signals.

The economic development and competitiveness in Europe is heavily dependent on an efficient transport system. Movement of goods and people is essential for a competitive industry and successful trade. As a result of an intensified transport business, consumption of fossil fuels has increased dramatically. As a consequence, there are increased emissions of dangerous greenhouse gases. Transports are often mentioned as an area with high impact on the environment.
Kreativitet som konkurrensfördel
Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda hur en organisation kan främja och tillvarata sin kreativa potential. För att finna svar på frågeställningen tog vi till en början till oss litteratur inom kreativitets-, organisations- och förändringsområdena och identifierade därigenom åtta viktiga, återkommande faktorer för att främja och tillvarata kreativitet. Dessa är vision, kontinuitet, delaktighet, mångfald, öppenhet, resurser, kunskapsförvaltning och motivation. Litteraturstudierna gav oss underlag för en kompletterande empirisk studie. I ett andra led gjorde vi alltså en kvalitativ studie för att visa på en praktisk lösning av problemet.
Prototyping i systemdesign
Denna uppsats avser att belysa frågan varför prototyper är ett viktigt verktyg
i en utvecklingsprocess av ett mobilt system. Fördelar och nackdelar som
verktyget kan innebära behandlas och olika tillvägagångssätt beskrivs.
Arbetet med detta baseras i ett praktiskt utvecklingsprojekt på
IT-kunsultföretaget Citerus. Projektuppgiften var där att genom en
informationflödesanalys definiera olika flaskhalsar i informationsflödet på
olika hotell för att sedan föreslå ett effektiviserande system. Projektet
koncentrerades vidare på städpersonalen och deras arbete. Utifrån fortsatta
studier föreslogs ett mobilt system som ger städpersonalen information för att
lättare och effektivare göra sitt jobb.
I flera olika forskningsdiscipliner som berör design och systemutveckling
förespråkas ett utvecklingssätt med hjälp av prototyper.
Processchemaläggare för mångkärniga processorer ? Fördelning av minnesbelastning i NUMA-system
For systems with multicore processors contention for shared resources is a problem that occurs when several memory-intensive processes are executed in parallel within the same memory domain. This contention has a direct influence on the performance of the system and is a complex problem that has been recognized for a long time. An attractive and actively studied way to minimize this problem is by using a process scheduler adapted to allocate processor cores in a way such that contention for shared resources is minimized.With the introduction of multicore NUMA-systems (Non-Uniform Memory Access) the situation has become even more complex. In these systems the access time for processor cores to different memory domains vary depending on factors such as distance and load. Thus, the process scheduler also has to consider where the memory of each process is placed to minimize the distance and balance the load on each memory domain.This report presents a user-level process scheduler for a NUMA-system based on the multicore processor Tilera TILEPro64.
Double integrating spheres: A method for assessment of optical properties of biological tissues
The determination of the optical properties of biological tissue is an important issue in laser medicine. The optical properties define the tissue´s absorption and scattering behaviour, and can be expressed by quantities such as the albedo, the optical thickness and the anisotropy coefficient. During this project, a measurement system for the determination of the optical properties was built up. The system consists of a double integrating sphere set-up to perform the necessary reflection and transmission measurements, and a computer algorithm to calculate the optical properties from the measured data. This algorithm is called Inverse Adding Doubling method, and is based on a one-dimensional transport model.
Produktutveckling av koncept för isbanesystem
Today most ice rinks in Sweden use secondary refrigeration systems with a solution of calcium chloride and water as secondary refrigerant. Due to the large amount of energy such a system uses more efficient systems would be desired.An earlier study concluded in the possibilities of using carbon dioxide as secondary refrigerant with copper tubes as the loops in the ice rink. Since then 3 ice rink refrigeration systems has been built with carbon dioxide in copper tubes. Excluding the ones being direct involved in those projects there is still very little knowledge about how these system works. This study has been made primarily with the aim of adding to the knowledge concerning availability and cost and secondary to look at possibilities for improvement.A comparison between systems with carbon dioxide, calcium chloride respective ammonium solved in water has been made by using Decision Matrix.

According to a decision of the European Commission, measures are to be taken to reduce the use of energy in the EU. The goal is to reduce it by 20 % compared to the current use. This shall be done to the year 2020 (European Commission, 2011). One industry that use large amounts of energy is the construction of buildings which account for almost a third of the energy use (Brogren, 2012). The major part of the energy that is used in the construction industry is not used when the buildings are built, but rather during the rest of their subsequent lifetime.

Communication is an important part of any multi-agent system. There are
different ways of communicating and they have different effects on a
multi-agent system. This project describes and evaluates two different ways of
communication, implicit and explicit. To compare the two methods, two
experiments have been executed. The result of the experiments have been
compared and discussed.

Managing the corporate operations toaccommodate to environmental objectives requires an organizational understanding of theobjectives as well as the procedures. A condition for a successful implementation is the coworkers´ willingness to participate and collaborate.A study made on the co-workers attitude towards the ISO 9000 standard (i.e. qualitymanagement system) reveals that the earlier positive findings are not completely true.
