The aim of this master?s thesis is to investigate the value and impact that reading groups organized by Swedish Public Libraries, have on its participants, role of the librarian and the Library as whole, according to librarian?s conceptions. In literature and earlier research reading groups are described to represent an important reader pro-motion tool for Public Libraries. At the same time the typical reading group member is often described as a per-son with a familiarity of reading. Another purpose is therefore to investigate the contribution of reading groups in promoting reading, according to librarian?s conceptions.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur pojkar med ett svagt läsintresse upplever boksamtal samt om det främjar deras läsintresse. För att få en uppfattning om hur eleverna upplevde boksamtalen så har jag genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med eleverna. Urvalet gick till så att samtliga elever i den klass som jag själv undervisar i fick ett erbjudande om att få vara med i ett boksamtalsprojekt under hösten 2009. Det huvudsakliga kriteriet för att delta i projektet/studien var att man väldigt sparsamt eller aldrig hade läst någon form av skönlitteratur på sin fritid under de senaste åren. Sju pojkar visade sitt intresse och under hösten 2009 genomförde vi, de sju eleverna och jag, boksamtal kring fantasyboken Över näktergalens golv ? Sagan om klanen Otori ? av Lian Hearn.1      Jag har utgått ifrån Chambers modell för boksamtal.

In the new Library Act of 2014, it is stated that public library supply should be characterized by quality. To investigate what this means for the library, I do a functional analysis of ideas of librarians' views on quality and how they work with purchasing, weeding and mediation. By combining the basal idea analysis, where I investigate librarians' ideas about quality, with an operational analysis of ideas, where I examine the effects librarians' quality ideas get for the daily work, Iwant to find out the librarians' quality ideals.The material I analyze consists of 18 questionnaires, filled out by librarians with responsibility for purchasing and / or thinning in libraries across Sweden. The analysis is done with an analytical schedule, that consists of a number of opposing ideal types taken from previous research on quality, purchasing, thinning or mediation.

A paranoid and shameful reading of Inger Christensens novel Azorno.The contagious feelings of paranoia and shame played a vital part in my first reading of the novel Azorno, written by the Danish poet Inger Christensen. In this essay, I?m letting those emotions direct the ?understanding? and analysis of the novel. In earlier research the focus has been to comprehend what the novel ?really is about?, and even though it has been mentioned that the form probably is a way to make the reader a visible constructer of  the novel?s ?meaning? the understanding has never been created by the affects that occurs during the reading.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utröna vilka genusnormer som förekommer inom det skoldiskursiva fältet och huruvida skönlitteratur är en del i detta. Utgångspunken i min uppsats är att genuskodat språk inverkar på flickors och pojkars möjliga språkutveckling och identitetsskapande. De frågor som ställdes var: Uppfyller dessa texter de krav som läroplanen ställer på att ge flickor och pojkar stimulans i den språkliga utvecklingen oberoende av kön, vilka beskrivningar av genus återfinns i de skönlitterära böckerna samt har de i böckerna ingående karaktärerna olika handlingsmöjligheter och egenskaper ur ett genusperspektiv? Genom en diskursanalys av sex skönlitterära böcker läst av en år 4 har jag utkristalliserat de meningar som beskriver pojk- respektive flickprotagonister. En intervju med läraren gjordes för att ringa in hur dessa elever valt sin litteratur.

This essay examines the decline of reading comprehension in Swedish schools, and also aims to provide insight into the debate concerning a literary canon and its usage in schools. While some claim that the literary canon is only a list of irrelevant white dead men which only serves to perpetuate feelings of alienation in, for example, female students, others see it as a means to bring society together using the only literature that stood the test of time. This essay will look to studies concerning reading comprehension, and questions regarding reading habits which our own students answered. It will also explain the different viewpoints of both sides of the canon debate.There are several studies that show this decline in reading comprehension, PISA and PIRLS being the foremost of them. They point to a trend where the reading skills of boys are much worse than those of girls, a trend which still has not panned out.Bloom and the different researchers who are the basis for Verhaest's thesis are of the opinion that canonical literature serves a purpose in that it teaches students aesthetic literary values.

This research focus on key groups; students with dyslexia, librarians and teachers, and interaction between these two professional groups regarding students with dyslexia. In searching for the exchange of knowledge and experience to meet dyslexic students needs, I have in this study turned the attention to librarians and their experiences with students with dyslexia.The purpose of the research has been through semi-structured qualitative interviews with four librarians, to explore and describe how they experience their work, in working with pupils with severe reading and writing problems, dyslexia, and interaction with teachers on this user group. The qualitative approach in the gathering of the empirical evidence is based on a desire to have an indepth and thoroughly understanding of the librarians experience.All informants in this study indicate that they see it as a natural part of their duty to keep themselves updated about dyslexia and what materials to suit the dyslexic user group. The informants have knowledge of dyslexia and have great knowledge and keep abreast on the latest technology of compensatory aids - alternative tools.The informants have primary a consulting and supply function for teachers and dyslexic students, where they are consulted on  suitable material in both fiction and facts in various disciplines. The informants highlights the importance of planning and preparation time to find suitable material, as audio books or easy read, so students who have a need for this also can be provided.

Adapting the concept of the ?popular cultural memory? and its necessary ?context knowledge? established by Karin Kukkonen, this bachelor thesis seeks to examine how this memory is ?at work? and expresses itself in contemporary fiction, by doing an intertextual reading of the swedish author Amanda Svensson's debut Hey Dolly. Within the intertextual structures of Hey Dolly the reader encounters allusions and references that address almost everything from contemporary popular culture to established authors in the swedish canon, mainly as means for the characters to help them express their emotions and thoughts, by ?choosing? from already available content of popular culture to use and modify. The intertextuality alluding to the popular cultural memory does at the same time address the concept of the ideal reader throughout the novel.

Populärmusik som vi känner den har de senaste 60 åren starkt fokuserat på mer än bara musiken. Ikoner som Elvis var bland de första som slog igenom stort där inte bara musiken utan ett ideal följde med i paketet. Denna trend har fortsatt genom åren med band som the Monkees som beskyllts för att inte ens spela musiken själva, David Bowie som starkt jobbade med image och presentation för att locka publik, Kiss som fortsatte på den trenden med mycket smink och explosiva scenframträdanden fram till idag då band som Kraftwerk och Daft Punk gått i en något liknande riktning. Fortfarande är det den yttre framställningen som är viktig men istället för att använda sig själva fokuserar man på virtuella och/eller mekaniska representationer.Men framställningen av sig själv behöver inte bara presenteras i ett enskilt medie utan kan avspeglas och föras fram i flera olika. På så sätt ges publiken utrymme att själva leta upp mer information genom att söka i flera olika medier.

AbstractA Problem to Every SolutionThe Corrymeela Community, René Girard and the ambiguous pluralismThe main purpose of this study is to examine how Girard´s ideas of society, culture andreligion have become part of the reflexion in the praxis of Corrymeela Community through the work of Roel Kaptein and how this praxis can shed light over the work with dissonances of faith and values in education in RE, Social Studies and other subjects.In earlier publications I have studied how dissonances of faith and values can beunderstood in educational settings and in connection with issues of interreligious dialogue.The extensive discussion of how differences in culture, religion and value in a pluralisticsociety are to be analysed and treated in pedagogical reflexion seems to increasingly occupyactors in different parts of the educational system. It is obvious that these issues also arebrought into focus as an important field of research. My main interest in this paper is to study how a reconciliation group in the middle of the conflict in Northern Ireland has developed a view of conflict reason and conflict resolution under the influence of the French researcher René Girard and what aspects of this study that can improve the reflection over pluralism and dissonances of faith and values in everyday praxis in education.For a period of more than a decade I have been in contact with actors in the peace process inNorthern Ireland in connection to different educational projects. The attempts to analyse the different aspects of ?The Troubles? and the efforts to find ways out of conflicts and civil war are many and the literature on subjects related to these tragic history of social, cultural and religious conflicts is difficult to survey.

Vi har valt att belysa skam i den somatiska vården, då vi upplever att det sällan talas om skam som är förknippad med somatisk sjukdom. För att skapa balans i tillvaron och stärka välbefinnandet, den fysiska och psykiska hälsan bör patienten mötas med respekt och värdighet. Sjuksköterskan skall enligt ICN lindra lidande, återställa och främja hälsa, förebygga sjukdom vara öppen inför andra människors värderingar och upprätthålla en miljö där det värnas om mänskliga rättigheter. Vård skall enligt HSL ges med respekt och på lika villkor och den enskilda människans värdighet skall beaktas. Syftet med studien var att belysa patienters beskrivningar av företeelser som leder till skam.

History has always been a doctrine with several qualities. Control over historical documentation has long served as a power tool for great men, where the victor wrote history as he or she wanted to. But history has never been exclusive to those who hold power - on the contrary, history is a central part of each individual's life, whether it is true or false. It gives an understanding of why the world looks as it does, gives the identity, related and confirms the origin as well as inspire the epic hero tales that are not always completely true. Within school, the Swedish National Agency for Education instructs that:The subject aims to stimulate students' curiosity and desire to broaden their world in a time dimension.

Anne Charlotte Leffler, Victoria Benedictsson and Frida Stéenhoff were all part of the Modern Breakthrough in Swedish literature. Jag har kommit fram till i denna c-uppsats att den anti-estetiska och visuella aspekten i für Alle-konsten i huvudsak bygger på Wahlbeck/Ericssons användande av modern teknik såsom videokamera, ljud och visuell ljus-teknik. Detta i kombination med alternativa former för att visa upp konsten, t ex genom teater, likt spelfilmen och såpoperans estetik. Jag har även kommit fram till att det konstnärliga formatet och produkterna som sådana (Cd, Film och Video) är av betydelse för det anti-estetiska uttrycket i für Alle-konsten. Den anti-estetiska frågeställningen har jag fått svar på genom att studera tidigare forskares texter om anti-estetik, t ex. Keith Moxeys text om Heironymus Bosch, Folke Edwards text om Futurism, gränslös mediauppfattning och 60-talets konst samt Hal Fosters text om anti-estetiken.
