This diploma work has been carried out in collaboration with the building contractor Sh Bygg Fastighetsutveckling AB in Uppsala with the intention to investigate how the height of a building affects various energy aspects such as transmission losses, infiltration, and the specific energy usage. Three different reference objects have been studied. The reference objects have been simulated for four different heights in the calculation program VIP-Energy.The results show that an increase in floor number can lead to both advantages and disadvantages. As the number of floors increases, transmission losses per square meter floor area decreases. However, as the height of the building increases, the reduction rate decreases.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka språket i en läromedelstext för att få en uppfattning om textens svårighetsgrad för vuxna andraspråksläsare på gymnasienivå. Hypotesen var att läromedelstexten saknade vissa språkliga drag som kan underlätta läsförståelsen för andraspråksläsare.Utgångspunkten var att göra en kvalitativ studie genom att beskriva texten utifrån vad som kännetecknar den och de aspekter som undersöktes var textbindning och röst. Men eftersom omfattningen av förekomsten av vissa språkliga drag undersöktes var metoden delvis kvantitativ. Den textbindning som undersöktes var referensbindning och konnektivbindning i form av kausalitet. Vad gäller aspekten röst undersöktes om texten präglades av aktivitet, d.v.s.

System Andersson AB is a company located in Jönköping that works with developing computer systems for the mechanical engineering industry. As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality.

Every year, pesticides are found in surface and ground waters in Sweden. Fungicides are in common usage and applied in high amounts against potato late blight. The present thesis examined the possible removal of four fungicides (metalaxyl, cyprodinil, propamocarb and mandipropamid) from water using the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris. Microorganisms are capable of decomposing a range of organic pollutants and the main focus in previously published studies has been on bacteria and fungi. Microalgae are mostly studied due to their high capacity in biosorbing heavy metals.

Storage of biomass is associated with problems like heat development, biomasslosses, and reduction of the fuel quality. Certain processes such as biological- andchemical degradation are responsible for these storage problems. This master?sthesis was carried out at Vattenfall Research and Development AB and is alignedtowards quantifying the biomass losses from short-term storage (1-2 months) ofbark and recovered wood. The biomass was stored in outdoor piles during differentseasons, campaign 1 (summer) and campaign 2 (autumn).

Due to excess precipitation that cause runoff, all soils in Sweden naturally leaches nitrogen.High leaching from arable land is an environmental problem when the runoff reacheswaters. In the international agreement, Baltic Sea Action Plan, the aim is to reduce therunoff of nutrients. Sweden has agreed to reduce its load of e.g. nitrogen to the Baltic Sea.One of the proposed measures is an increased use of site-specific N-fertilization, which hasbeen shown to increase nitrogen use efficiency and therefore also reduce the nitrogen runoff.Either yields are increased with the same total amount of nitrogen, or the total quantityof nitrogen is reduced with preserved yield levels, which is profitable for the farmers.The dynamics of nitrogen leaching differs between top dressing applications above orbelow the economical optimum. There is a consensus about a difference in the dynamics,but not about its magnitude.

This thesis investigates how a developer can move a desktop application to the web environment. The investigation also includes finding out what are the limitations of a web application and what is not possible to move to the web from the desktop. The question is whether there is any functionality that is gained or lost in the web application after the move.A survey has been conducted to find out what types of problems occur when moving an application from desktop to the web. The authors of this thesis have developed two prototypes for a company who wants to move a limited part of their current desktop application to the web in the future. The prototypes have been developed in Silverlight and ASP.NET.The survey has revealed that one of the disadvantages of web applications is the difficulty in working with local files and hardware on the computer.

In 2013 a new emission standard for heavy trucks was introduced and hence a number of new parts was brought in to Scania CV AB. This created a need for modifications in the silencers flow. The flow is highly complex involving several suppliers, call off methods and different models of silencers. The aim for this project was to improve the existing silencers flow. The flow, from supplier to assembling, has therefore been mapped.

The purpose of this report is to investigate the possibilities with drain water heat recovery (DWHR) in residential buildings. Information and relevant theory has been collected and summarized in this report. Calculations have been done for given scenarios to evaluate profits. DWHR heat exchangers use simple technology and have long life-time. The heat exchanger is connected to outgoing drainage pipe and incoming cold-water supply so countercurrent flow is accomplished.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om värderingar och om synen på litteratur och litteraturläsning i grundskolan under åren 1980-2011 och syftet är att undersöka dessa. Uppsatsen är en litteraturstudie där skolans styrdokument i form av läroplaner och kursplaner i ämnet svenska utgör undersökningens primära källmaterial. Frågor som kommer att beröras i uppsatsen är hur synen på litteratur förändrats genom åren och hur introduktioner av nya läroplaner under den aktuella tidsperioden påverkat litteratursynen? Restultat som den här undersökningen ger är att det generellt råder en positiv syn på läsning och litteratur i alla de undersökta dokumenten. Lgr 80 skiljer sig från de övriga två läroplanerna genom att det här finns aspekter som talar för att man vill styra vad eleverna ska läsa genom att ge exempel på boktitlar.

Tryckeribranschen är en ekonomiskt pressad bransch som söker nya besparingsmetoder. En av metoderna är att minska insatsvaran tryckfärg med färgreduceringsprogramvara.Rapporten undersöker möjligheterna med färgreduceringssystem. Detta genom att studera hur man använder sig av färgreducering och hur det påverkar trycket.Studien avser besvara:? Hur stor färgminskning kan man använda sig av utan negativa konsekvenser på bildkvalitén?? Hur går man tillväga för att skapa den färgminskningen?? Överensstämmer total färgförändring och visuell bedömning av tryck?För att få svar på dessa frågor togs en testform fram med nödvändiga bilder och färgfält som sedan genomgick en rad färgreduktioner. Testformen utvärderades digitalt med avseende på TAC och total färgförändring.

Storm water is defined as runoff from precipitation such as rain or snow. It is collected in sewage disposal systems and since it mainly originates from urban areas it can contain high levels of heavy metals, nutrients and oil etc. Polluted storm water is currently treated by different methods such as wet ponds, constructed wetlands and filter strips. This study investigates these methods, which in earlier studies have shown to give varying results regarding their treatment efficiency.This thesis has been written on commission of SWECO VIAK and was aimed at studying those parameters that may affect the treatment efficiency of nutrients and heavy metals in storm water treatment facilities (STF:s). Through literature studies the dominating treatment processes in ponds and wetlands were examined.

In order to avoid harmful substances ending up at the municipal sewage treatment plants, it is important to purify the wastewater at the source. One such source is the wheel washers available in many tire garages which are used to wash the wheels on our vehicles when we change between summer and winter tires. It is important to wash the wheels before storage, to extend the tires lifetime. The purpose of this study is to find a green innovative solution for reduction of emissions of heavy metals at the source, so that the sludge from the sewage treatment plants can be used as fertilizer. The target is to find a wheel wash method which leads to compliance with the guidelines for car washers, and that also provides a better washing result than with the existing method.

Bredband har de senaste åren gått från att vara en ovanlig företeelse till att i Sverige närmast ses som en mänsklig rättighet. En teknik som ger många individer tillgång till IT-infrastrukur med hög överföringskapacitet är trådlösa nätverk av typerna WiFi och WiMax. I uppsatsen konstateras att ett marknadsmisslyckande kan förekomma på privata marknader för trådlöst bredband. Detta marknadsmisslyckande analyseras utifrån teorier om externa effekter och kollektiva varor. De positiva externa effekter som trådlösa nätverk genererar ger varan drag av kollektivitet.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att få en bild av Mobila förskolans pedagogers uppfattningar om verksamhetens lärmiljö med fokus på barns lek, och om den bilden skiljer sig åt från pedagogers uppfattningar om lek/lärmiljö inom den reguljära förskolan. Min studie består av intervjuer med dels pedagoger från en Mobil förskola, dels pedagoger från reguljär förskola. Jag utgår från en tes jag har: att Mobila förskolans verksamhet, med sin lärmiljö och upplevelsepedagogik, skapar möjligheter för barn att utveckla lek, fantasi och kreativitet på ett annorlunda/särskilt vis; särskilt i den bemärkelsen ?olik? den reguljära förskolans verksamhet. Studien utgår från pedagogernas egna uppfattningar utifrån den verksamhetsform de arbetar i, och har för avsikt att utläsa eventuella särskiljande drag hos Mobila förskolans upplevelsebaserade lek/ lärmiljö - med pedagogernas uppfattningar som underlag.
