Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur den senmoderna människans åsikter yttrar siggällande utbildning, arbete, fritidssysselsättning, resor, konsumtion och tro. Vidare vill jag undersöka ifall informanterna och deras åsikter kan kopplas samman med Mary Douglas teorier om kulturella typer och hur det yttrar sig. Jag vill även analysera om de är klassificerbara som David Brooks nyligen introducerade typ, BoBos. Slutligen vill jag undersöka huruvida mina informanter är typiska för dagens senmoderna samhälle.Den slutsats jag kom fram till var att informanterna är typiska för dagens senmoderna samhälle och att har de karaktäristiska drag som med fördel kan hänvisas till BoBos. De är individualistiska, relativistiska och delvis paradoxala, vilket också är tydligt i deras åsikter om hur de själva kan kategoriseras som grupp..

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka de narratologiska drivkrafterna i de två postapokalyptiska verken The Stand av Stephen King och Girlfriend In a Coma av Douglas Coupland. Med frågor som: Vad är den narratologiska drivkraften? Med kulturkritisk infallsvinkel: vad för karaktärerna med sig in i den nya tiden? Genom närläsning kommer en undersökning ske, där de narratologiska drivkrafterna lyfts fram. Resultatet visar att författarna har använt sig av två olika tekniker. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka några förskoleklassbarns förståelse av de geometriska formerna kvadrat, cirkel, triangel samt rektangel. Dessutom har syftet varit att analysera barnens kunskapsutveckling före och efter geometrilektionerna. Studien genomfördes genom intervjuer och observationer med både barnen och läraren för att ta reda på deras tankar om formerna. AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to investigate the views Swedish elementary school teachers produce on the subject of ethics. The teachers? thoughts on selection among ethical notions is described and also how these notions are assessed. The essay proceeds from the central content and the knowledge requirement in the syllabus of religious knowledge.The empirical survey is based on qualitative scientific interviews with four teachers employed in grades 4-6 at different schools.The teachers find ethics in its current state of the syllabus hard to define and they find encounters with parents and pupils difficult in their tasks. The selection of ethics is decided by previously planned basic values education or from conflicts erupting during schools hours.

Digitizing and digital libraries create great opportunities toprovide access to cultural heritage globally, but the quicklychanging information technology environment also raises manyquestions. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse whatvisions and ideas behind one specific digital library, Europeana,that can be found in documentation related to the project. Whatideas can be identified concerning aspects such as userparticipation, access to information, knowledge andinformation literacy? What is the project?s role in relation toeducation, preservation of cultural heritage and democracy?The method used to answer these research questions is adescriptive idea analysis. The empirical material, consisting ofprimary sources written in relation to the project, has beencategorized within dimensions and analysed according toDouglas Raber?s three public library strategies: social activism,the conservative response and the populist initiative.

In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

Uppsatsen bygger på några teoretiska perspektiv om samtalets betydelse för lärande och framställs här som betydelsefullt såväl för lärande som för utveckling och etablering av demokrati. Sammanfattningsvis handlar det om att individer med hjälp av samtal görs delaktiga i en lärandeprocess. Uppsatsens teoretiska avsnitt tar utgångspunkt i några texter författade av Roger Säljö (2000), Olga Dysthe (1996), Douglas Barnes (1975/1978) och Tomas Englund (2000 samt 2004). För att ytterligare belysa samtalets betydelse för lärande har vi valt att lyfta fram några texter från Johan Liljestrand (2002), Kent Larsson (2004) samt Fritjof Sahlström (2001). Mot denna bakgrund har vi formulerat fyra didaktiska frågeställningar där svaren var och en på sitt sätt kan belysa samtal i undervisning.

Methodology: The study is based on a qualitative case study which was conducted as a participant observation.

Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

Purpose This thesis tries to create an understanding of how male homosexual entrepreneurs, both as persons and as a concept, relates to the fact that entrepreneurship, as well as the society as a whole, is heteronormative. Moreover, it examines by what methods the male homosexual entrepreneurs cope with the seemingly paradox of a homosexual man who also is an entrepreneur. Method The method has been qualitative from a social construction-point of view. We have made semi-structured interviews with nine male homosexual entrepreneurs and structured the findings from the interviews with a computer programme and mind mapping techniques. We have compared the structured findings with theories, in an abducting manner, to find out an answer to the purpose of this thesis.

During the last 20 years, the Swedish health care system has faced major changes. One of them is the increasing pressure to generate economic profit due to private businesses entering the market. Health care units are forced to make some structural changes in order to become effective and efficient. As a result merger and acquisitions has become a part of the health care sector, and seems to be an increasing phenomenon. Mergers and acquisitions have mainly been studied in the industry.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera vilka bilder av kvinnlighet och manlighet som förekommer i Douglas Foleys ungdomsroman Ingen återvändo. Detta görs mot bakgrund av att litteraturen i någon utsträckning bidrar med identifikationsobjekt för unga läsare och att undervisningen har som mål att motverka att stereotypa genusformationer fortplantas. För att urskilja de olika genuskonstruktionerna i texten har en diskursanalytisk metod, benämnd diskursteori tillämpats. Resultatet av analysen har sedan ställts mot Yvonne Hirdmans respektive R.W. Connells teorier för hur genus och genusstrukturer skapas och upprätthålls.
