Husums plant has a selection of different pulp pumps at bleaching plant 4 and 5. The displacement- (HC-pump, Sund Defibrator PTD-60) and centrifugalpumps (MC-pump, MCA 42-200, MCP 30/20) are of interest in this report. The centrifugal pumps are controlled by throttle valves, which result in an energy loss. Chemical mixers are used to mix ClO2 into the pulp before proceeding into a holding tower where the bleaching process occurs.The energy demand of the different positions has been measured or calculated to be used in comparisons against new equipment. Quotations were requested and delivered from Valmet and Sulzer.

Husqvarna is a world leading producer of chainsaws with a well-established brand name. Husqvarna now has an interest in investigating the possibiltiy to expand their production of chains and guide bars to include cutting equipment for timber-harvesters.This project is a technical study which aims to answer questions about cutting equipment for timber-harvesters that have been decided in cooperation with Husqvarna. The questions have mainly been focused on forces, cutting speeds, service and maintenance -as well as general questions regarding the size of the Swedish market.Two methods have been applied to answer the questions. Interviews with retailers of harvesters, producers of harvester heads and harvester drivers.The main findings in this project show that there is a relatively small selection of harvester chains on the Swedish market. In contrast to the selection of harvester chains the selection of guide bars is quite large.

This degree thesis is based on an assignment from BEOMAT in Storfors. BEOMAT is a company that constructs and sellsclay pigeons to both the national and international market.Our main purpose with this paper is to find a solution/system that can replace the expensive and space demandingOlympic trap facility. Our solution will replace fifteen clay pigeon throwers with one automatic thrower whosimulate all throwers together. The system will be provided with an appropriate control system for mass productiontherefore this system needs to be user-friendly so no previous knowledge is required.Totally 405 different throw coordinates will be stored in the programme in nine different subprograms. According tothe Olympic-rules the throwers should coincidence within certain specified conditions, this will be solved with anrandomizer in the programme.

As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

Compressed air is an energy source that is widely used in today's trucks and buses.Compressor located next to the engine supplies the pneumatic system with the compressed air and is lubricated with the engine oil. Some of the oil follows the air flow in both liquid and solid phase. The solid phase, namely the carbon particles are created due to the high temperature in the compression chamber.Oil- and particles carryover softens and destroys the rubber material in the air valves and disturbs the mechanical function of various components in the pneumatic system. In order to reduce oil- and particles carryover is an Air Processing System (APS) set downstream the compressor.No method for establishment of oil- and particles carryover from the compressor exists at the moment. Therefore the filtration efficiency of APS is currently unknown.

Arbetsplatsernas ständiga utveckling och förändring har lett fram till ökade psykosociala krav från de anställda som företaget måste bemöta. Ska man bedriva ett hälsofrämjande arbete bör hänsyn tas till hur kulturen ser ut på arbetsplatsen. Samlade värderingar och verklighetsuppfattningar kring hälsa skapas när individer samverkar med varandra och omvärlden, detta kallar vi ?hälsokultur?. Syftet med studien är att beskriva hur hälsokulturen ser ut på ett företag och vilka möjligheter och resurser som finns på företaget för att utveckla denna.

Med ökad fokus på miljöpåverkan och bränsleekonomi vill Volvo Construction Equipment öka verkningsgraden på sina anläggningsmaskiner. På avdelningen för drivlineutveckling jobbar man bland annat med att sänka förlusterna i växellåda och hjulaxel på hjullastare och dumper. För att underlätta detta arbete har en simuleringsmodell som beskriver förluster i hjulaxlar tagits fram. Denna rapport beskriver framtagning av modellen, verifiering av modellen och vilka framtida användningsområden modellen lämpar sig för.Simuleringsmodellen är uppbyggd av ett antal komponentmodeller. Komponentmodellerna innehåller formler för respektive komponent i hjulaxeln.

Denna rapport följer framtagningen av två förslag till en applikator av polerpasta, som tagits fram tillsammans med företaget Oerlikon Balzers. Arbetet har följt de metoder som Fredy Olsson förespråkar i sin rapport, ?Princip-/ och primärkonstruktion?.Produkten ska ha som uppgift att automatisera och ersätta det manuella arbetet med att applicera polermedel i samband med slipningen av borr. Enligt vald metod togs först ett flertal idéer till lösningar på problemet fram genom brainstorming. Efter det genomfördes en sållning av förslagen där de vägdes och utvärderades mot de krav som fanns.Två förslag valdes ut för att arbeta vidare med.

Bakgrund: Produktutvecklingsprocessen har på senare tid kommit att ses som en strategisk aktivitet som är avgörande för företagets överlevnad eftersom produktens utförande och kostnader till stor del fastställs innan tillverkning påbörjas. ?Target Costing? har sitt ursprung från Toyota i Japan och är en metod för strategisk kostnadsstyrning som har vuxit fram för att tidigt styra kostnader. Metoden används för att integrera kostnadsstyrning i produktutvecklingsprocessen i samstämmighet med kundkrav och företagets egna vinstkrav.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera hur ?Target Costing? används i produktutvecklingsprocessen på Volvo Construction Equipment i Braås för att ge kunskap till nya potentiella användare.

Det senaste inom informationshantering i vården är att, med hjälp av datajournaler, göra all information om patientens hälsotillstånd och sjukdomshistoria lättåtkomlig för berörd personal och på så sätt öka patientsäkerheten och effektiviteten i personalens arbete. Rapporten syftar till att undersöka om datorisering av informationshanteringen inom vården innebär att patientinformationen blir mer tillgänglig och otvetydig och därmed ökar patientsäkerheten och ökar effektiviteten i arbetet för personalen. Resultatet har erhållits genom att jämföra en avdelning som gått över till datoriserad informationshantering om de inneliggande patienterna och en avdelning som fortfarande arbetar med pappersblanketter. Vår undersökning visar att, då systemet är nytt för personalen så upplever de viss osäkerhet om var de skall föra in resultat och man saknar också en del översikter som man fick med hjälp av pappersblanketterna. Detta gör att tveksamheter om vilket läkemedel som skall ges, dosering av läkemedel och avsaknad av information m.m.

Fluorokinoloner är viktiga för behandling av bakteriella infektioner inom både humanmedicinen och veterinärmedicinen. De används speciellt vid komplicerade och akuta infektioner då de har ett brett spektrum, baktericid effekt och en stor distributionsvolym. Den ökande resistensen som utvecklas mot fluorokinoloner är ett hot mot både enskilda individer och samhället som helhet. I denna litteraturstudie undersöks fluorokinoloner och olika strategier att hindra resistensuppkomsten mot dem. Resistensen mot fluorokinoloner sker främst genom två mekanismer, men ytterligare en mekanism har nyligen upptäckts. De två främsta mekanismerna är förändring av målenzymen och minskad mängd fluorokinoloner i bakterien.

The ability to handle potentially dangerous and hostile situations on a military vesselrequires that the equipment works effectively with the personnel that use it. It is importantthat this equipment can be used by different people. An operator on a military vesselshall be able to handle information about hostile threats, navigation and the steering ofunmanned vehicles. A operator console should therefore be constructed in such a waythat the operator can handle a large flow of information. And the information given bythe technical system should be displayed correctly to facilitate the operators ability tohandle and interpret the information correctly, in order for the operator to make thecorrect decision at any given moment.

In order to continue to be competitive in the current industrial climate, producers must increase efficiency at their plants. Several Swedish companies choose to utilise the principles of Lean production. Tour & Andersson AB (TA) has elected to create their own model using Toyota?s productions system which has been named TAPS (Tour & Andersson Production System). Following two years of working with TAPS the company has decided to introduce Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Most of the work carried out in the maintenance department today is in form of repairs to already faulty equipment.

Beacon AB has been producing Gobos for some time. A Gobo is a small round sheet used in projectors almost like a slide. It is used mostly in the commercial and entertainment business. Today these Gobos are created by using a film (also called mask). A digital exposure machine called LIOS has been developed to make it possible to create Gobos using direct exposure.

The project contains a force analysis of the vertical axis wind turbine Lucia's supporting arms and a measuring device to experimentally measure the forces is made. The forces between the supporting arms and the tower are calculated theoretically and then simulated by a computere. A measuring devise is then designed to measure the forces experimentally. The forces acting on the attachment between the supporting arms and the tower is primarily the centripetal force, gravitational force and the aerodynamic forces on the rotor wings. The maximum forces were theoretically calculated and is 13.38 kN along the x-axis, -0.25 kN along the y-axis and then 0.5 kN along the z-axis.
