Syftet med detta arbete har varit att dels undersöka vid vilken ålder färdiga spermier börjar ses i sädeskanalerna i testiklarna hos hankatter och dels undersöka om immunohistokemi med GATA-4-antikroppar kan användas som hjälpmedel för att särskilja på olika celltyper i sädesepitelet vid spermieutvecklingsstudier hos katt. För att besvara den första frågeställningen undersöktes H&E-färgade testikelpreparat från 46 normalkastrerade hankatter med en ålder på mellan 2,5 månader och 5 år. Undersökningen gjordes med hjälp av ett ljusmikroskop med 100-1000 gångers förstoring. Spermieförekomst observerades hos 0/3 katter som var yngre än 5 månader, 2/4 katter som var 5 ? 5,5 månader gamla, 7/7 katter som var 6 ? 6,5 månader gamla, 6/8 katter som var 7 månader gamla och 23/24 katter som var 8 månader eller äldre. Slutsatsen i denna studie var att det finns en individuell variation för när spermier börjar ses i testiklarna hos hankatter men generellt börjar inte spermier dyka upp förrän tidigast när hankatterna uppnått 5 månaders ålder och vid 8 månaders ålder har generellt alla hankatter spermier. För att besvara den andra frågeställningen genomfördes GATA-4-immunohistokemi på paraffininbäddade testikelpreparat från 21 normalkastrerade hankatter med en ålder på mellan 4,5 månader och 5 år.

Food insecurity is a great problem worldwide and Ethiopia is one of the sub-saharan countries that are suffering from poverty and food insecurity and a large part of the population are living in a state of undernourishment. To reduce these problems, a successful horticulture production can be an important factor. Compared to other crops, fruit production in Ethiopia has not been a large part of the agricultural sector. However, the demand on the domestic market is increasing as well as the production for avocado and mango. To increase food security it is important to focus on ways to decrease post-harvest losses of food products and not only have the productivity of agriculture in focus.

AbstractAn approaching overproduction of cereals and a future uncertain supply of non genetic modified vegetable protein feedstuffs have increased the interest in an expansion of the domestic production of protein feedstuffs in Norway. Besides rapeseed (Brassica campestris), peas (Pisum sativum) may be the most suitable crop for this purpose. Peas are characterized by having a relatively high content of crude protein, ranging between 20-26%, a high content of starch, 42-51%, and a low content of fat. In general, the energy value for peas is higher than for barley but lower than for rapeseed and soybean meal.Pea protein consists of albumins and globulins to 85-100%, which leads to the fact that a large part of the pea protein is soluble and degradable in the rumen. Starch in peas is on the other hand to a large extent resistant to rumen degradation compared to starch from other starch rich feedstuffs.

Det pågår idag arbete på många håll för att göra våra bostäder mer energieffektiva, ofta genom tekniska förbättringar av till exempel klimatskärm och värmesystem. En post i energianvändningen som inte alltid får lika mycket fokus är varmvattenanvändningen. Varmvattenanvändningen mäts sällan i flerbostadshus, vilket gör att kunskapen kring den är relativt låg. På senare år har dock allt fler bostadsbolag börjat arbeta för att minska vattenanvändningen och en metod som har blivit allt vanligare är individuell mätning och debitering.I denna rapport redovisas ett examensarbete kring olika aspekter på vattenanvändning i flerbostadshus. Vattenanvändningen i ett bostadsbolag som överväger att införa individuell mätning och debitering undersöktes och jämfördes med statistik från ca 2000 lägenheter i två bostadsbolag som redan infört individuell mätning.

Shopping for groceries often means that, as consumers, we travel to the grocery store ourselves, by ear, bike or on foot. At the store we pick out the groceries that we want, go the register and pay for them. During the last couple of years consumers in Sweden have been given the opportunity to let someone else select and transport the groceries to their home instead, so called home shopping. As this report is being written, the possibility to buy groceries this way is somewhat limited, but many forecasters believe that in the near future it will increase immensely. Because of the large volumes of groceries that are being transported, there is great transport work being done in the supply chain.

Being an architect I create spaces with roof, walls and fl oor. The availability of the essential materials to create such spaces is practically unlimited. The materials also play a significant part to the character of the created space. I hope to contribute to the general understanding of materials as elements in the design of urban spaces by having intensely explored one specific material in depth, pointing out its bad and good qualities. I am of the opinion that the reason for choosing a material shouldn?t be because of a shortage of knowledge, facts or references, but what character you want for the room. When travelling across Europe, it sometimes feels like clay paving is everywhere, but back in Sweden it is almost unseen of in modern landscape architecture.

Background: The design industry is relatively immature in Sweden but large on the international market, where companies have used services from industrial design firms for a long time. Companies incresignly realise that design is an efficient mean to gain competitive advantages on the market. Several design companies fancy growth and to receive a wider market share to expand on the international market. One of them is Design Communicaton who has made a couple of acquisitions, to receive wider comptences and to cover different segments. That has lead to an increased brand portfolio with different subbrands, which can be complicated to handle efficiently in the internal and external communication.
