The aim of the essay is to investigate how the term ?Third world? is constructed in media. With this I intend to make a historical survey of the conception. With the help of Swedish newspapers and their description of the concept, I am going to answer the following questions: How is the concept ?Third world? constructed in script, in a historical context and in modern time? Is there a tendency of racism in the term?The method I used was discourse analysis.

The aim of this study is to discuss the implementation of Swedish integration policy from the perspective that public officials, so called front-line bureaucrats, are the real creators of this policy. The concept of integration is far from unambigous; it can have different meanings depending on the theoretical perspective applied. This give topical interest to the question of how the concept is conceived on the national level versus the implementation level. I also aim to uncover how these front-line bureaucrats look upon their role as creators of integration policy. My material consists mainly of interviews with front-line bureauctrats.

The thesis explores the meaning of the concept "children's best" in relation to the social Swedish parental insurance debate from a post-structuralist view. The main material has been taken from daily news papers and the methodological as well as theoretical basis is provided for by Laclau & Mouffes discourse theory. In particular has the concept "empty signifiers" been of use when investigating "children's best" as a strong argument on both the "pro" and "against" sides of the debate of an individualized parental insurance. The theoretic purpose of the thesis is also to examine the poststructuralist/feminist dilemma in order to approach a more pragmatic and useful model of the two combined provided by Alcoff and Fraser. One conclusion is that "children's best" may never have an objective answer and will be a changing concept in time, ideology preference and discoursive field.

The report presents a thesis carried out on behalf of the company SAAB Training and Simulation which is situated in Huskvarna. The authors of this report are going to graduate as mechanical engineers focusing on product development and design, and this thesis should reflect the knowledge obtained during the education. The assignment, given from the company was to develop a concept of a stand that will constitute as a part of a mobile system for target practice. AimThe aim of this essay is to investigate some local curriculum?s interpretation of the upbringing assignment that is expressed in Lpo 94, together with how the physical education teachers in these schools interpret and give expression to this assignment in their teaching. The questions are:? How does the local curriculum interpret the upbringing assignment of the PE teachers?? How does the PE teacher interpret the concept upbringing?? How does the PE teacher work with the upbringing role in their daily teaching?? How does the different experiences regarding to uppbringing and the schools development affect their or the PE teschers? daily teaching?? Is there any difference in the subject teacher?s upbringing role compared to the PE teacher?s?MethodThis study is qualitative and based on four deep individual interviews of teachers, two at the age between 25 and 35, and two at the age of 45 or older. In addition, four local curriculum?s have been investigated with consideration to upbringing.

Syftet med denna studie var att försöka synliggöra hur betygssättande grundskollärare själva beskriver sitt arbete med att bedöma och betygssätta elevers kunskaper. Frågeställningen var: Hur beskriver lärare sitt arbete med att bedöma elevers kunskaper?I den teoretiska delen av uppsatsen behandlas bland annat styrdokument för grundskolan, betygssystem, kunskapssyn och teorier om lärande relaterat till bedömning samt syn på bedömning. Med utgångspunkt från aktuell forskning belyses kunskapsbedömning i ett lärar- respektive elevperspektiv.För att få svar på frågeställningen genomfördes fokuserade intervjuer i tre fokusgrupper på tre olika skolor i tre olika kommuner. Sammanlagt deltog 28 lärare, som undervisar i grundskolans år åtta och nio.Undersökningen resulterade i två dimensioner av lärarens arbete:Att hjälpa elever att utveckla sitt lärande och Att bedöma och betygssätta elevers kunskaper. Dessa dimensioner av kunskapsbedömning har olika fokus; att utveckla elevens lärande respektive att bedöma och betygssätta elevens kunskaper.

This work is a study of subject teachers in social studies and science understand the concept of sustainable development. The work uses a qualitative and a quantitative approach. Teachers in various schools and stages have been answering questions about how they perceive sustainability, how they implement it in teaching and if they feel that school is important for the future of sustainable development at large.The theoretical background is based on environmental ethics as well as the different meanings and definitions of the concept of sustainable development. These theories and definitions are coupled with the empirical results.The study concludes that all teachers throughout the study perceive the concept of sustainable development as something ecological, something that has to do with nature. A few teachers also state economic and social dimensions.Questions about how the teachers in the study implement the concept in their teaching can be seen as three different approaches.

This thesis is an evaluation of a new design concept for statorfeets in Gallejaur hydro power plant. Founder of the work is Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft. During the 70- and 80´s nuclear power began to be phased in to the Swedish grid, which meant that hydropower became an important source of rules. The generators began running in so called intermittent operations instead of basic operations, which meant 300-600 start/stop per year instead of one-ten numbers start/stop per year. In order to deal with the thermal forces that arise at every start and stop suppliers began to mount so called sliding joints, which is to take advantage of these forces and maintain the stator shape.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur begreppet främmandegöring kan användas som retorisk figur i olika kulturella texter samt att ge förslag över begreppets tillämpning i skolans bildundervisning. Syftet är också att med hjälp av resultatet gestalta ett eget konstnärligt verk där främmandegöring problematiseras och synliggörs. Det gestaltande arbetets syfte är även att pröva hur främmandegöring kan användas som retorisk figur. Undersökningens metod bygger på en bildsemiotisk analys kopplat till en bildretorisk modell beståendes av fyra dimensioner, samt en gestaltande undersökning i form av mediet digitalt fotografi. Resultatet visar att samtliga kulturella texter använder sig av främmandegöring som retorisk figur genom flera retoriska dimensioner, samt att det kan upplevas som att dimensionerna har en förmåga att gå in i varandra.

The master thesis ?Mechanical Integration of an IR-detector in a Micro Cooler? has beenperformed at FLIR Systems AB in Danderyd. FLIR Systems is a world leader in the design,manufacture and marketing of thermal imaging camera systems.The thesis project is divided into to two areas, Production Method and Noise.The Production Method concerns the positioning of a detector on the cold finger within the IRcamera.The detector has to be positiond with very high accuracy at the center of the cold finger,so it can be placed in line with the optical axis to avoid movement of the picture during zooming.The positioning of the detector is at present done with the help of specially designed guides on aplate on top of the cold finger. The design workes well but the special machining needed for thisplate is very expensive.The goal concerning the production method was to derive a new more cost effective method forthe assembling and positioning of the detector on the cold finger by replacing the guides on theplate with a reusable equipment or some other alignement operation.Several concept ideas have been generated with the help of concept generation methods in theform of concept classification trees and concept combinational tables. Two of these conceptswere selected to be further refined.

Not only developing countries are affected, even in the western world epidemics are breaking out by partake or bathing in dirty/polluted water.MIP, Molecularly Imprinted Polymers, is a biosensor technology that can provide faster and more reliable response than the current methods of water analysis. It is also cheaper and due to that more samples can be taken and analyzed.

Den psykiska ohälsan ökar alltmer i samhället och en utsatt grupp är universitetsstudenter. Ett uttryck för psykisk ohälsa är utbrändhet, som består av tre dimensioner: emotionell utmattning, cynism samt bristande upplevd prestation. Positiv hälsa har av tradition inte studerats lika mycket, men har kommit att intressera allt fler forskare. Ett begrepp inom positiv hälsa är psykologiskt välbefinnande, som består av sex olika dimensioner. Föräldraskapets betydelse för den psykiska hälsan har visat sig variera, varför syftet med studien var att undersöka hur föräldraskapet påverkar det psykologiska välbefinnandet och graden av utbrändhet hos studenter.

Erfarenheter från de senaste årens komplexa konflikter har bidragit till insikten att separata militära insatser ofta är otillräckliga för att skapa fred. Comprehensive Approach ses av många som ett koncept med målsättningen att skapa en integrerad civil-militär ansats för konfliktlösning. Konceptets innebörd är emellertid oklar. Dessutom är det problematiskt att empiriskt belägga att användandet av konceptet leder till framgång, vilket medför svårigheter att granska dess värde.Uppsatsen utnyttjar Michael Howards teori om strategins dimensioner för att analysera Storbritanniens syn på Comprehensive Approach som strategiskt koncept. Som metod används en kvalitativ textanalys av systematiserande typ.

The aim of this thesis is to explore the concept of the work and the problems with the definition of it. The concept is an important starting-point when it comes to cataloguing musical works and creating uniform titles. Another aim is to find out other difficulties that are frequent in cataloguing printed music. In the theoretical part of this thesis Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records FRBR and the Swedish cataloguing rules KRS are important tools. The FRBR-model and the four entities work, expression, manifestation and item are described.
