A today common soil reinforcement method is the installation of lime-cement columns. Lime-cement columns have been used since the 1970?s and have been a useful method for stabilizing soil at great depths. It is mostly used for stabilizing road and railway embankments because the method is economically viable and the columns are easy to install. The total costs for the installation of the lime-cement columns is dependent on the numbers of installed columns, what percentage of lime and cement that has been used and the pattern in which the columns has been installed.

In Sweden there are 299 000 working in the construction industry. The construction industry is one of the industries where most accidents occur every year. During the last ten years there have been 111 death accidents in the construction industry and 48 of them were falling accidents. That means, in average, one death accident every month.Falling accidents gives serious injuries to the persons who are affected by them. It is anticipated that this report will investigate the factors beyond the falling accidents and also to present proposals that can decrease the number of falling accidents in the future.To secure a healthy and safe construction site it is of great importance that both the employers and the employees cooperate towards the same goal.

Målet med examensarbetet är att implementera en mjuk CPU i en FPGA-krets som finns tillgänglig på ett ALTERA DE2 Board. Denna mjuka processor integreras i ett projekt skapat i utvecklingsmiljön Quartus II. Den kommunicera med programmerad logik i FPGA:n och den signalbehandlar en audiosignal (stereo), så att ett eko kan genereras och att volym och balans blir justerbar. Crisis management planning is a relatively new policy area in the European countries. It has materialized since the fall of the iron curtain and because of the increased interest to prevent wide-ranging national emergencies. In Sweden, the county administrative board has a key obligation to perform risk analysis guidelines. This assessment involves identifying crisis, planning response to the crisis and, if necessary, confronting and resolving the crisis in the geographic area of the region. The purpose of my thesis is to examine if there are any differences in crisis management planning between the county administrative boards? risk analysis guidelines.

Syftet med vår forskning är att öka förståelsen för hur individer uppfattar och tolkar en logotyp och hur detta överensstämmer med företagets strategi för deras visuella identitet. Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod med ett induktivt angreppssätt. Vår empiri har samlats in genom intervjuer som sedan legat till grund för det fortsatta arbetet. Vår empiri utgörs av intervjuer med tre stycken art directors, en copywriter och en projektledare från tre stycken olika reklambyråer. Dessutom har vi intervjuat 15 stycken respondenter.

Freshwater environments are threatened worldwide, of which many of the species associatedwith freshwater. In 2014, 243 freshwater mussels were on the international Red List. One ofthem is the freshwater pearl mussel, Margaritifera margaritifera, which because of itscomplex life cycle can be counted as an indicator of whether a stream is worth protecting. It's since the early 1900's in decline throughout their range. Sweden is counted as a core area which is why we have not only a national but an international responsibility to conserve the species.

The financial crisis in the beginning of the 1990´s the financial crisis had a strong impact on the Swedish economy. Some of the main actors in the crisis were the largest banks of Sweden which brought a huge amount of losses on themselves. One of the main reasons for this was that the banks focused on volume increases rather than on credit losses. The credit analysis process is performed differently these days and it is the development of this process that is the focus for the authors.This thesis is about the credit analysis process in the four largest banks of Sweden. The purpose of the thesis is to highlight which factors the banks include in the credit analysis process and in how small and medium size companies are treated in this process.

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

Aim: To investigate the observed issues about the economy units? importation in the municipal of Bollnäs, Sweden, and study the internal communication according to this matter. Method: This paper is written as a process where the information flow has been decided by the information held in the interviews. The interviews have dealt with the economy units issues and the communication linked to it, within the oganization. Sverige framställs ofta som ett av världens mest jämställda länder där män och kvinnor har samma möjlighet till inflytande och makt. Kvinnor på ledande positioner i Sverige har ökat de senast årtionden men när det kommer till högre positioner brister kvinnor i representationen, framförallt inom det privata näringslivet. Lönsamhetsargumentet har ofta används som ett skäl för att öka andelen kvinnor i börsnoterade styrelser och företagsledning, medan studier om diversifierade styrelser visar på ett blandat resultat både vad gäller lönsamhet och effektivitet. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka representationen av kvinnor i företagens ledning på Large cap, Stockholmsbörsen men också se på hur denna representation kan förklaras samt hur mångfalden i styrelserna eventuellt kan utvecklas. Ett ytterligare syfte är att undersöka om det finns ett finansiellt argument om lönsamhet som kan motivera en ökning av andelen kvinnor i bolagsstyrelserna och om andelen kvinnor i nomineringskommittéerna leder till fler kvinnliga ledamöter i bolagsstyrelserna.

The capacity to extract information from vehicles has the potential to be very beneficial. Performing analysis on information about fuel usage, emission values and other driving properties of a vehicle can lead to great economic and environmental benefits.This report contains descriptions of two prominent systems for retrieving information of this nature from a vehicle, On-Board Diagnostics and FMS-Standard, and of an implementation of FMS-Standard.The conclusion drawn after this investigation is that these systems do indeed offer access to the benefits mentioned earlier, although to varying degrees and with differing prioritisation..

This essay aims at understanding the experience of the use of ayahuasca, and similarities and differences between interview protocols and socio-cultural identities. The work is based on field studies conducted in the Peruvian Andes, in the village of Pisac September to November 2009. What has emerged is that the experience does not seem to be dependent on cultural manifestations as much as it is dependent on general human cognition. Theories have been applied on an empirical phenomenological descriptive study. Various brain activities, along with mental mechanisms contribute to a deeper understanding of the findings in the descriptive analysis.It seems that the cultural differences, which I have classed as typological in the phenomenological study, mostly are expressions of meaning for the informants.

This degree project concludes the Innovation and Design Engineering programme at Karlstad University. The project was carried out by David Brocker, Erik Hallberg and Andreas Hertzman during the spring of 2006 and corresponded to 15 weeks of work per student. Assigner was Martin Larsson at Arexor and instructor at Karlstad University was Monica Jakobsson.Arexor has a patent to a construction of an electrical skirting board with moveable wall sockets, called Electrical Track System. The lowest parts of the interior walls along the floor are today almost always covered by a conventional skirting board. Arexors patented product replaces that with the possibility to move and increase the number of wall sockets by choice along an electrical skirting board.

Bakgrund och problem: IFRS 8, rörelsesegment, är ett resultat av det samarbetsprojekt som pågår mellan de två dominerande normsättarna på redovisningsområdet, International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) och Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). IASB offentliggjorde i november år 2006 IFRS 8 som ersatte IAS 14, segmentrapportering, för räkenskapsår från och med 1 januari år 2009. IFRS 8, har till skillnad från IAS 14 ledningsperspektiv på sin segmentrapportering i de finansiella rapporterna, vilket kan bidra till lägre jämförbarhet mellan företagen och högre relevans.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att identifiera skillnaderna mellan IAS 14 och IFRS 8 vad gäller antalet segment, mellan årsredovisningen för år 2008 och första kvartalsrapporten för år 2009. Syftet mer konkret, är att undersöka om företagen i studien har förändrat antalet segment samt om det påverkat jämförbarheten.Metod: Urvalet för studien är de 255 företag som var listade Stockholmsbörsens listor Large Cap, Mid Cap och Small Cap den 9e november 2009. Studiens är en jämförelse på företagens förändring i antal rapporterade segment mellan årsredovisningen år 2008 och första kvartalsrapporten för år 2009.Resultat och slutsatser: Författarna kan inte statistiskt säkerhetsställa att en förändring skett i antalet segment.

The aim of this paper was to study incoming complaints to The County Administrative Board in Västra Götaland during 2011 and examine if it was possible to see a connection between warranted and unwarranted complaints and informer, animal species and type of inadequate. In Västra Götaland, a complaint is classified as warranted if the inspection leads to a reprimand, whether it regards what was reported or not. Data were collected during three weeks through The County Administrative Board´s record system Platina and a total of 456 complaints were studied. The parameter ?complainant? was categorized into four groups according to The County Administrative Boards own division; public with the subgroups anonymous and non-anonymous, animal health staff and others.
