Denna uppsats är en utvecklingsstudie av TV-serien Sex and the city. Syftet är att med hjälp av narrativ analys samt Keith Selbys och Ron Cowderys metoder från boken How to study television studera det första och det sista avsnittet av serien för att därefter undersöka förändringar i avsnittens miljö samt karaktärernas dialog och kläder. Detta med hjälp av teorier om livsstil, subkulturer och mode inom populärkultur. Förändringen från första till sista avsnittet handlar mycket om karaktärernas sätt att se på sin egen livsstil. Huvudfokus i dialog och handling har flyttats från sex till kärlek och de fyra huvudkaraktärerna har alla utvecklats till mognare versioner av sig själva, någots om känns naturligt eftersom serien startade 1998 och avslutades 2004.

In contemporary Sweden political participation among foreign-born Swedes is viewed as low and it is well known that foreign-born individuals do not use their voting rights to the same extent as the general population. At the same time there are numerous ethnic associations around the country who work with various activities involving political, democratic and integration issues. This study aims to study how four members of a Somali association regard, relate to and work with politics, democracy and integration. The study is based on these four people, but also on their relationship with authorities and other agencies in the community. The conclusion of this study shows in brief that the desire to participate politically is great, but that democracy and politics is accessible to all, depending on the level of language skills and what political knowledge the individual has.

May 2010 a project called drop-in sports was started to get boys and girlsin the ages of 13-20 more physically active and keep them away from  committing crime. With the slogan ?come as you are, whenever you want and do what you want for free ? spontaneous sports was organized. To evaluate the project a research of the activity was carried out, where two of the objectives were to investigate how responsibility and empowerment is taken. Twelve hours of observations studies were used to collect data about leadership decision-making and democratic values in forms of respect, everybody?s right to play and influence.

The Swedish debate regarding chat control highlights a value conflict between protecting the safety of children and preserving democratic rights such as privacy and freedom of expression. This thesis examines key arguments for and against the proposed EU CSAM-regulation, analyzing them through a normative argumentation analysis method. The analysis is based on the Swedish constitution, representing the common values of Swedish society. The study reconstructs arguments from four debate articles and evaluate them according to their relevance and validity, which makes up the arguments? total evidential strength.

The purpose of this essay was to examine the role of the acquisition of the Swedish language for integration of adult immigrants given by the seven parties currently in the parliament and other players on the field. The questions were meant to bring light upon the arguments used by the different players concerning the role of the Swedish language, to enlighten which discourses that are constructed, and the contradictions that exist between these. We parted from a postmodern position and used social constructionism to back up our method and theory of analysis; discourse theory. The results revealed three different discourses concerning the role of the Swedish language in the integration process; the liberal discourse, the discrimination discourse and the social democratic discourse. The liberal discourse claims that immigrants have a responsibility to learn Swedish to be able to achieve employment and to provide for themselves.

Syftet med arbetet var att ta reda på hur pedagogisk dokumentation används i tre olika arbetslag inom förskolan och hur denna bidrar till att synliggöra barns lärande. I undersökningen deltog tre arbetslag i en kommun i Norrbotten. Vi har använt oss av kvalitativa intervjuer med pedagogerna samt observation för att få veta deras tankar kring den pedagogiska dokumentationen och hur de använder sig av den i verksamheten. Vi har därmed gjort en fördjupning i den pedagogiska dokumentationen, lärande, dialog och barnsyn. Resultatet av våra intervjuer har visat att pedagoger ser på pedagogisk dokumentation på olika sätt och att pedagogisk dokumentation är en ständigt pågående process som har blivit en viktig del av verksamheten i många förskolor..

Feminist initiative ? an idea analysis.On the fourth of April in the year 2005 Feministic initiative (Fi) was created, it was an main response to the slow changes in the Swedish society, which claimed to establish an equal society. Equality has become one of the major indicators of a contemporary democratic society. The Swedish government has long proclaimed to reach this goal, but even though Sweden currently lies in the front among the democratic societies, while you consider equality issues, especially between the sexes, there is still a lot that need to be done in the Swedish society. Feministic initiative began as an organization and established a political party and participated in the election during the year 2006, but failed to reach a place in the parliament.

Through our study we have found that there are moresimilarities than differences in leadership styles. The dominant leadership style of managers in both private and public sector is the democratic leadership style, often in combination with other styles; most notably the authoritarian leadership style. Uppsatsens syfte är att studera två antologier, Dikt och tanke I-III från 1967 och DialogKlassikerna och Dialog 1900-talet från 2000 för att ta reda på om det skett någon förändringvad gäller urvalet. Jag gör en kvantitativ översikt av utvalda antologier, jämför deras innehåll samttittar på tidigare forskning i ämnet. I uppsatsen använder jag mig av fyrafrågeställningar/påståenden. Dessa är: Vad lägger antologiförfattarna vikten vid i sina förord?Hur presenteras de litterära epokerna i respektive antologi? Vilka kvinnliga författare finnsmed i Dikt och tanke respektive Dialog? Hur stor skillnad är det mellan Lgy 65 och Kursplani svenska? Jag fördjupar mig även i den kanondebatt som pågick 2006 och tittar närmare pådefinitionen av en litterär kanon och om gymnasiet skulle vara betjänt av en sådan.Skillnaden vad gäller urval skiljer sig till stor del.

Information technology (IT) with its enormous capacity involves more and more in our daily activities and public sector is using IT to make their activities more efficient. The government goal with electronic government (e-government) among other things is increasing the availability and service to the public as well as improving the democratic process. Democracy can be strengthened by involving citizens in public decision making process but this goal has not been achieved yet and the development of e-government has mostly been focused on improving efficiency within administration and electronic services (e-services). Promoting the democratic process has been postponed in the development of e-government because of the lack of political commitment and decision. Digital divide is also preventing public sector to promote democracy with the support of IT.

This thesis deals with the cultural efforts of the Swedish labour movement during the periodof 1917-1939. It aims to examine the similarities and differences between social democratsand communists in their approach towards culture.My theoretical guidelines are the dialectic and materialistic view on history as set forth byKarl Marx and Friedrich Engels.I have examined some important individuals in the cultural debate within the Swedish labourmovement, such as Ture Nerman and Arthur Engberg, and I also briefly outline the debate inthe Soviet Union from the classics of Lenin and Stalin.I have found that the social democrats were mainly concerned with a democratic distributionof the existing bourgeois culture rather than working for the creation of a new proletarianculture; the communists on the other hand made considerable efforts to benefit the workers'own culture based on class struggle, but failed to threaten the social democratic ideologicalhegemony among the Swedish working class..

Ämnet deltagande och dialog i planeringsprocessen diskuteras flitigt på dagens planeringsinstitutioner. Att allmänheten besitter unik kunskap om ett område som de lever i, eller på annat sätt brukar dagligen, råder det knappast några tvivel om. Allmänheten har kunskaper om ett områdes kvalitéter, brister och potential. Individer formar ett områdes sociala värden genom sättet på vilket de använder och identifierar en plats. Denna sortens kunskap är väldigt viktig, och svår för en kommun att införskaffa genom vanliga områdesanalyser. Frågan är hur kommunen kan få ta del av denna kunskap.

Ett stort problem idag är att allt fler barn och vuxna blir fysiskt inaktiva. Det moderna samhällets livsstil inbjuder mer och mer till en relativt fysiskt inaktiv vardag. Detta sker samtidigt som det är vetenskapligt säkerställt att det medför stora hälsorisker att vara fysiskt inaktiv. Då skolan är en av det få verksamheter som är obligatoriska så erbjuder skolan en unik möjlighet när det gäller att informera och forma individers val av framtida livsstil. Målet med den här studien var att undersöka om samtal och dialog i undervisning i ämnet Idrott och hälsa kan ge kunskaper om vad ett fysiskt aktivt liv innebär.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the conceptualisation of the social relations of class and gender within the Social Democratic Women?s Association during the period 1972 ? 1993, on the basis of their programmes for action. The analysis of the concepts is based on an ideology critical study focusing on the manifest ideology.The study is based upon the theoretical concepts of class and gender,  The class analysis is based upon the broadened concepts of class by Erik Olin Wright and Ira Katznelson. The gender analysis is mainly based upon a Marxist understanding and a critical point of view of Marxism and feminism in the context of patriarchy and capitalism.The period of the study is where the social democracy is challenged, both by radical socialism and feminist ideology and the economic crisis during the 1980?s, as well as the possible threat of an organised women?s party in Sweden.
