I början av 2003 inledde de svarta bönderna i Darfur i Sudan ett väpnat uppror mot den sudanesiska regeringsmakten. Detta på grund av att de har känt sig diskriminerande och negativt särbehandlade. Regeringen svarar snabbt genom att träna upp och sätta in den så kallande Janjaweed-gerillan som med regeringens stöd börjar bedriva etnisk resning och folkmord i Darfur.Sudan har sedan urminnes tider präglats av konflikter mellan araber och svarta, och denna konflikt är inget undantag. Det mänskliga lidandet i Darfur slår hela tiden nya rekord, men trots det står omvärlden bredvid och tittar på. FN har försökt att få till åtgärder men lamslås av veto i säkerhetsrådet.

AbstractThe aim of the studie was to investigate if the Pediatric Early Warning Score system, PEWS, is an useful instrument on a children's inpatient ward, regarding the detecting of deterioration in children's vital signs. For this, a quantitative descriptive design with qualitative elements was used. Method: Study specific questionnaires were distributed to 86 persons (helpnurses, nurses and doctors). Of these, 36 answered and sent back the surveys. Results: Of 36 responses 25 felt experienced a faster detection of deterioration of vital signs in the child.

The aim of this study was to examine how individuals who have left a criminal lifestyle may experience their present life. A symbolic interaction approach was the theoretical framework for this research. Qualitative interviews were conducted with seven individuals who have stated having had and left a criminal lifestyle. The results showed that how individuals experience their present life is highly dependent on individuals? own view of themselves as well as on how others view them.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att undersöka hur virkesflödet från Region Iggesund varierar under året och belysa orsakerna till detta samt att beräkna transportkostnader och analysera vilka distrikt som skulle kunna ha störst nytta av virkesfordon med Central Tyre Inflation (CTI) eller Super Singel hjul, alternativt hjulsystem som kombinerar de båda teknikerna. Utgångspunkten har varit rationell virkesförsörjning från skog till industri, med så låga virkeslager och transportkostnader som möjligt. Region Iggesund anskaffade 1,9 miljoner fastkubikmeter (m3fub) virke 2011, varav 45 % kom från egen skog och 55 % kom från lokala köp. Huvuddelen levererades till Iggesunds Bruk, Iggesunds Såg och Hallsta Pappersbruk. Regionen är uppdelat i sex distrikt, med Uppland i söder, Sveg i nordväst och Hudiksvall i öster. Däremellan ligger Bollnäs, Delsbo och Ljusdal.

Examensarbetet utfördes på NCC Halmstad under våren 2010. Syftet med examensarbetet var att klargöra vad visuell metodik kan tillföra byggbranschen och hur det upplevs av personer som utför byggprojektArbetet innefattar en kvalitativ och en litteraturstudie. Intervjuerna har ägt rum för att ta reda på hur den visuella metodiken fungerar i praktiken.Litteraturstudien innefattar en utredning av begreppen Lean, Lean Production, Lean Construction, Last Planner och NCC Projektplanering. Den röda tråden från Lean till NCC Projektplanering är att genom ständigt förbättringsarbete skapa engagemang och ökad delaktighet.Den generella uppfattningen av NCC Projektplanering är positiv, dock varierar uppfattningen av metoden efter aktörernas inställning.

Arktis är en region som har en mångfacetterad historia. Idag, när isen sakteliga smälter undan, och tidigare gömda naturresurser blir åtkomliga, blir tidigare obetydliga gränsdragningsdispyter nu konflikter, som kan komma att handla om mångmiljardbelopp. Detta sker samtidigt som multilaterala samarbeten blir allt vanligare och ämnesområdena de berör, allt fler. Vi visar att de båda teorierna neoliberal institutionalism och neorealism ger två olika förklaringar till situationen i Arktis, och att man beroende på vilket teoribildning man tillhör, har skilda synsätt gällande hur man ser på regimer i regionen. I studien har vi främst analyserat FN: s havsrättskonvention och Arktiska Rådet, vilka båda kan sägas ha haft stor inverkan på Arktis, men på helt olika sätt..

Sammanfattning Energieffektivisering av tre flerbostadshus från 50-talet Detta arbete redovisar vilka åtgärder som är lönsamma ur ekonomisk synvinkel och kan leda till minskad energianvändning hos flerbostadshusen på Ystadsgatan 12-18 i Helsingborg. Eftersom dessa flerbostadshus är uppförda under 1950-talet och kan anses vara typexempel för flerbostadshus byggda under detta decennium kan detta arbete ge inspiration åt andra bostadsrättsföreningar och hyresrättsägare som också funderar på att göra besparingsåtgärder i sina 50-tals hus. Huvudtanken med arbetet har varit att få ner den specifika energianvändningen och inte ändra de boendes beteende vad gäller individuell hushållsel. Att minska den specifika energianvändningen innebär att åtgärder måste göras inom följande område: styr och reglerteknik, installationsteknik och byggnadsteknik. Våra åtgärdsförslag är tilläggsisolering av vindsbjälklaget och vindsvåningarna, samt installation av ett solvärmesystem.

The definition we use to understand profession suggests that all librarians take an active part in negotiating their professional role and library enterprise.Our empirical material consists of interviews with eight Children's Librarians. Using a qualitative method was the best way to gain an understanding for the participant's own experiences of their professional identity.

Göbekli Tepe is an 11000 year old religious center where Totem has been exercised. It was raised by megalithic hunters and collectors that still during the construction lived in small-scaled mobile groups in order to find food and therefore should not have had time to raised costly stone monuments. The religious center consists of four enclosures with two T-pillars decorated with pictures of different animals and birds. Any dwellings have not been found. The place has been constructed by a well-organized elitist organization that has been capable of raising constructions in order to exercise their religion in a way we did not thought was possible such a long time ago. Analysis and findings from the near east existing from this time shows however that social changes happen in the communities around the region. Can archeological finding from the excavations on the religious center give any answer or clue regarding how man came to develop from hunter and collector to farmer? The purpose of this study is to examine the personnel?s perspective on how the emotions shame and guilt are present in the treatment of female addicts on an LVM institution. Three questions have been designed to meet the objective: How do they work in the treatment with guilt and shame, how important is it to work with these feelings and what significance does genders have in relation to shame, guilt and treatment? A qualitative approach and techniques have been used to obtain the result. The study's theoretical starting point consists of three themes: gender theory, labeling theory and a theoretical approach to the concepts of guilt and shame.
