Every year, the horse industry in Sweden is growing. Because of this growth, it wouldbe most beneficial for the people involved in the agricultural business in Sweden toimprove their horse skills.I have assembled a form that includes basic guidelines for professional horse care.History tells us that Swedish horses have had a huge impact on the agricultural business.Before the arrival of the tractor, the horse played a very important role for the farmer.Today, horses are kept primarily for pleasure, mostly as a hobby for non-professionalpeople. In Sweden, we are seeing the small horse farms become more and morepopular, which is keeping the countryside open and alive.I feel it is very important to improve the knowledge among farmers and others who willwork in close proximity to horses. This will enable us to raise the standard of care ofhorses today and reduce the number of people who market themselves as professionalhorse specialists, even though they have no education or experience in the fieldIn this essay you will find information about the most common horse breeds in Sweden,including basic anatomy of the horse, feeding directions, hoof and dental care, commondiseases and their treatment. There is information relative to the safe transportation of ahorse as well as the rules pertaining to horses in traffic.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the image of the Titanic disaster in two Swedish newspapers reports of the disaster. By analysing various newspapers reporting of the disaster, we wish to investigate whether there are differences in reporting of gender and class in order to say something about the contemporary outlook and the prevailing social beliefs.The source material that the study is based upon comes from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet and their reports from the 15 April to the 30 April 1912 and the reporting from the time of the sea-hearings completion (22 May and 31 July 1912).The study finds that news reporting follows the same standards, however, are different in style of performance because of the newspapers' differing positions.The study finds that a distinction is made between the reporting of men's and women's behaviour. Whether a man followed or violated norms leads him criticized or praised in the newspapers. Women's behaviour is hailed independent if they followed the standard of what was feminine or masculine behaviour in a disaster.The study also finds that a distinction is made between passengers of the various classes in the reporting. The majority of reports concerning individuals in the First Class are in positive terms.

Inom industrin är främsta skälet för kalibreringar att även de bästa instrumenten med tiden förlorar sin förmåga att ge noggranna mätningar. Med kalibreringsmjukvara som stöd effektiviseras kalibreringsprocessen och hanteringen av dess data. Instrumentteknikerna på Vallviks Bruk arbetar i systemet CMX Calibration Software av Beamex, och jag fick uppdraget att utvärdera dess användbarhet. Uppsatsen fokuserar främst på användarna och hur det upplever systemets användargränssnitt. Vidare skall utvärderingens resultat leda till förslag på förbättringar i systemet.

  I föreliggande text kommer jag att diskutera tillblivelsen av Uppsala renhållningsverk. Detta kommer att ske i termer av modernitet och det moderna samhällets utveckling. Kan vi kalla renhållningsverketmodernt? Om så är fallet, på vilket sätt? Min ambition i denna uppsats är att undersöka det moderna samhällets framväxt och detta kommer att exemplifieras utifrån den utbredning av kommunal verksamhet som stod att finna under slutet av 1800-talet i Uppsala, då renhållningen i staden gick från att vara en privat angelägenhet till att bli ett offentligt ansvar. Redan här kan vi slå fast att ett större offentligt ansvar är en del av det moderna projektet, eller det moderna samhället.

Utvecklingen i Sverige de senaste åren kännetecknas av befolkningsminskning i landets gles- och landsbygder medan storstädernas befolkningsmängd ökar. Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka om det finns några metoder och strategier som de krympande kommunerna har använt sig av för att försöka vända stagnationen samt att jämföra dessa med hur problemet hanteras i andra delar av världen. För både krympande städer och kommuner är problemet detsamma, befolkningsminskning. Lösningen på problemet är att försöka skapa en befolkningstillväxt. Det finns många olika strategier för att vända befolkningsutvecklingen.

Denna uppsats jämför maltdryckproduktionen i Sverige åren 1880 och 1900, för att undersöka om/hur produktionen av maltdrycker påverkades av införandet av den standardiserade glasbuteljen, den så kallade Stockholmsflaskan, 1885.Uppsatsen utgår från ett grundantagande att standardflaskan påverkade maltdrycksproduktionen positivt, från att denna näring stått relativt stilla fram till dess. Med andra ord är grunduppfattningen att standardflaskan katalyserade en större maltdrycksproduktion i Sverige.Metoden som används i denna uppsats var en statistisk jämförelse, där mått och tabeller först konverterats och gjorts överskådliga i dagens mått mätt.Resultatet i denna uppsats visar att det redan innan Stockholmsflaskans införande fanns en stegrande produktion av maltdrycker. Detta berodde på politisk-ekonomiska förändringar som gjorde det lättare att bedriva verksamhet, samt att det Bayerska ölet (som kom till Sverige 1846) ökade i popularitet.En markant ökning av maltdryckproduktionen i Sverige under tjugoårsperioden 1880-1900 äger rum, då i princip all öltillverkning övergick till att gå till på Bayerskt vis. Undersökningen visar också att en ny gren inom bryggerinäringen, buteljvatten och läsk, tillkom under denna period, och det är rimligt att anta att den gjorde det pga Stockholmsflaskan.Bayerskt öl krävde en snabb effektiv tappning, allra helst i maskin. Det är därför ett rimligt antagande att eftersom så mycket av det öl som producerades i Sverige år 1900 var just Bayerskt, berodde produktionsökning på att en standardflaska gjorde en så stor produktion möjlig..

Discharge of inadequately treated waste water containing nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen as well as organic matter and bacteria is associated with a risk of eutrophication and contamination. The Swedish government has decided upon several Environmental Quality Objectives aiming to reduce the emissions of nutrients to water bodies.In Sweden, there are between 675 000 to 1 000 000 on-site sewage systems. Recent studies have shown that the function of small sewage treatment plants is in many cases insufficient. To prevent this regular service and supervision by a professional is needed. The focus of this study are small sewage treatment plants which use a technique where mechanical, chemical and/or biological reduction of pollutants is being used in the same facility to reduce nutrients in household wastewater.The aim of the study is to investigate how different municipalities ensure that small sewage treatment plants fulfill the requirements and reduce pollutants as efficient as the manufacturers claim.

Företagsklimatet idag karaktäriseras av snabba förändringar och hård konkurrens och det krävs ständig förnyelse för att överleva och växa. Åre präglas av utveckling och framåtanda, med turismen som främsta näringsgren. Under Årets säsong 2006-07 startades sex nya restauranger mitt i Åre by, ett högt antal på en liten yta. Detta kräver en bra profilerad verksamhet med en genomtänkt affärsplan. Syftet med vår uppsats är att kartlägga om de nystartade restaurangerna i Åre 2006-07 har en välutarbetad affärsplan med en stark målformulering.

Scrapie is an infectious neurologic disease in sheep caused by prions, corresponding to transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) in other species. The prion is presumably constituted of PrPSc, the misfolded form of the normal endogenous prion protein, PrPC, which is found in practically all cells in the body. PrPSc can induce a conformational change in PrPC and misfold it as an imprint of itself; this is how prions amplify and spread. The process of conformational change is poorly understood and there might exist intermediate forms between PrPC and PrPSc. Bioassay using mice has traditionally been the golden standard in prion studies but is limited by cost and time.

ABSTRACT: Commercial swab transport systems are used for collection and transporting of fecal and other microbiological samples. This system must maintain viability and contribute to survival of microorganisms during transport to the laboratory. Four swab transport systems have been compared, eSwab, ?- Transwab and fecalSwab, all three with flocked swabs, and Copan Venturi Transystem with rayon swabs. The study followed the recommendations from the Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute; document M40-A for recovery of Samonella, Shigella, Yersinia and Neisseria gonorrhoeae after storage for 0, 6, 24, 48 and 72 h at room- (22-25°C) and refrigerated (2-8ºC) temperature.

This study deals with sustainability reporting in three governmental and three non-governmental Swedish companies in different industries. With increasing demands from the society regarding company?s CSR - Corporate social responsibility, the perspective of accounting gets broader and covers even non-financial information to meet not only the owners? demands but also others stakeholders' requirements. Sustainability has become an important tool for creating company?s business value and a positive sustainable external image.

Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) is a way to graphically draw a diagram of a business process. A BPMN diagram consists of several so-called flow objects. These are interconnected in the graph through sequence  flows. BPMN models are merely graphical representations of business process and there is a need to simulate these diagrams for different purposes. The simulation that now is available for BPMN is that the model is evaluated by checking if it is correct.

Ett projektstyrningsverktyg som fått stor uppmärksamhet i den akademiska världen och av branschorganisationer är Earned Value Management (EVM). EVM beskrivs av forskare och praktiker som överlägsen andra metoder där det bland annat bevisats att EVM har en signifikant påverkan på ett projekts framgång. Metoden är standard i ett flertal länder men få svenska organisationer förutom vissa svenska myndigheter har adopterat EVM. Syftet med studien är att undersöka motiven till adoption eller avvisande av EVM i stora svenska organisationer för att skapa en bättre förståelse av adoptionsprocessen. För att uppnå syftet genomfördes kvalitativa telefonintervjuer med sex adopterande och fyra avvisande organisationer.

Vid arbete med systemutveckling är det vanligt att arbeta efter en metod. Det som styr valet av metod kan vara erfarenhet, krav som finns från organisationsledningen eller politiska krav för att följa en given standard. Det är inte alltid lätt att välja en metod som är lämplig och som uppfyller de krav och behov som finns inom organisationen. För att välja en lämplig metod är användning av ett ramverk ett bra hjälpmedel. Ramverket används bland annat för att försäkra och kontrollera att den metod som utvärderas uppfyller de krav som ställs på systemet och att de olika komponenter som ingår i systemet behandlas med hjälp av metoden.

Since their invention in 1999, CubeSats have become a widespread standard for small picosatellite missions. CubeSats allow for quick development of satellite payloads and launch in space without the high costs of a normal satellite. Emphasis during the CubeSat design process is placed on use of commercialoff- the-shelf (COTS) components and reuse of previously-designed units.This report describes the interfacing of a scientific magnetometer, the Small Magnetometer in Low-Mass Experiment (SMILE) to such a CubeSat mission, the Space Weather using Ion spectrometers and Magnetometers (SWIM). Design of a complete platform for use in multiple such missions is presented here.Modularity is one of the key aspects followed in the course of the work. A new board containing the analog pick-up and compensation circuitry for SMILE has been designed to fit inside a CubeSat frame.
