Denna studie har genomförts med syftet att redogöra för vilka möjligheter och hinder som kan uppstå vid införandet av Big Data-baserade IT-lösningar inom den svenska hälso- och sjukvården. Studien bygger på en explorativ fallstudie med fokus på det svenska projektet 3R- Framtidens vårdinformation. Intervjuer har genomförts med personer som är insatta och kunniga i ämnet och därför kunnat bidra med en sammanfattad bild av vilka initiativ och ambitioner som finns i dagsläget. Studiens resultat visar att Big Data kan bidra med en mängd möjligheter till förbättrad sjukvård i Sverige. Resultatet visar på att möjligheten med att samla all information i en gemensam kärna, bidrar till bland annat förbättrad forskning, en förbättrad relation mellan vårdgivare och patienter, möjlighet att kunna utföra prediktiva analyser samt underlättar arbetet med diagnostisering av sjukdomar.

Digitizing objects and environments from real world has become an important part of creating realistic computer graphics. Through the use of structured lighting and laser time-of-flight measurements the capturing of geometric models is now a common process. The result are visualizations where viewers gain new possibilities for both visual and intellectual experiences. This thesis presents the reconstruction of the Parthenon temple and its environment in Athens, Greece by using a 3D laser-scanning technique. In order to reconstruct a realistic model using 3D scanning techniques there are various phases in which the acquired datasets have to be processed.

Concept description är en data mining-uppgift som strävar efter en begriplig beskrivning av koncept och klasser, inte exakta prediceringar. Syftet med studien är att visa hur prototypbaserad klustring kan skapa förståelse för en datamängds underliggande domän, enligt concept description. Experiment har utförts med data från pokerdomänen. Datamängden samlades in från ett low-limit, shorthanded bord, hos en av de stora Internetsiterna för online pokerspel. De två experimenten utfördes med samma datamängd, men där uppsättningen attribut skiljde sig åt.

The aim of this study was to understand how evaluations are implemented and used in procured nursing homes for elderly. Our methodological approach consisted of a single-case study research. The case in this study was Växjö municipality. Three procured nursing homes for elderly were chosen in the municipality as examples of implementation and use of evaluation. The method for retrieving empirical data and the analyzing of it was based on triangulation.

The purpose of this thesis is to test whether firms have target capital structure, and if so with what speed they adjust toward this target. Findings that support this purpose are also in line with the trade off theory. One of the key elements of this thesis is the method used, which successfully enables fulfilling the purpose. The panel data method captures the data characteristics of the cross sectional and time series dimension. By using this approach the dynamic effects of capital structure can be studied, thus if there actually is an adjustment towards a target the speed can be estimated.

The goal of this thesis is to design an attachment between a duct and a pod. A pod is what could be compared to an outboard engine for larger vessels. The pod is placed on the outside of the ship?s hull and can rotate 360 ?. A duct is a large steel ring that can be placed around the propeller on the pod to increasethe propulsion force of the ship in lower velocities.

In todays society IT in general and the Internet in particular are given elements in people´s everyday lives, and smartphones has come to be a big part of those elements. This study focuses on how the use of Smartphones in particular influences the individuals in their working environment, and how this use influence the efficiency and the well-being of said individuals.  To answer our research question regarding how said use comes to effect the efficiency and the well-being for proffesionals in their working environment we have used data from qualitative interviews who is enriched by a short initial diary study. This data has then been analyzed using the Affinity Diagrams Technique, leading to four central themes emerging from the data. The results show that smartphone use at work comes with both positive and negative effects; efficiency increased through the use of smartphones due to the great versatility that comes with the technology, while in terms of well-being issues of stress emerged.

Vi har byggt ett digitalt musikinstrument, en synthesizer med samplebaserad trummaskin. Synthesizern och trummaskinen är mjukvarubaserad medan gränssnittet är hårdvarubaserat. Operativsystemet som används är Linux och synthesizermjukvaran är utvecklad i ljudprogrammeringsspråket Pure Data. This thesis examines different methods for the cooling of data centers. Several means of cooling with the refrigeration cycle have been studied, as well as the feasibility of using free cooling in different parts of Sweden. In addition, the possibilities of transferring excess heat to a nearby district heating system were investigated. It was found that in all investigated cases except two, the data center could be cooled solely with free cooling for at least 300 days a year when only the outside air temperature was considered as a constraining factor. The limit was then set to 20 °C.The vast majority of all district heating systems in Sweden get little to none of their heat from other excess heat sources.

This thesis aims to present the essential background on how to perform climate changeimpact assessments, and to present the results from a climate impact assessment on waterbalance and nitrate leaching for an arable Swedish soil. The soil is a sandy soil in southwesternSweden, grown with spring cereals. This study is meant to be a benchmark example,and cannot be seen as a regional or national assessment for Sweden, rather as an approachto present and analyze the most important parts of these kinds of assessments.A dynamical simulation model (COUP, Jansson and Karlberg, 2004) was used for thisstudy. The model was parameterized and calibrated against data from an experimental site,located in Mellby in Hallands county, south western Sweden. Measurements were carriedout between 1st of April 1988 and 1st of April 1991.

Syftet med vår studie var att synliggöra hur pedagoger som undervisar i grundskolans tidiga år samtalar om undervisningen av matematikens användning i vardagen utifrån den socio­kulturella teorin. Gruppsamtalen utgick från rubrikerna konkretisering, individ­uali­se­ring, mate­matik och språk samt matematiksvårigheter kopplade till vardagsmatematiken. Vi använ­de oss av fokusgrupper som undersökningsinstrument. I studien ingick 13 peda­goger som alla undervisade i matematik på skolans lågstadium. Deltagarna i studien var verk­samma på fyra olika skolor i två olika kommuner.Undersökningens resultat bearbetades utifrån en hermeneutisk innehållsanalys.

I april 2011 startade MTG den kommersiella pratradiokanalen Radio 1. I och med lanseringen introducerades ett nytt begrepp i det svenska medielandskapet: kommersiell a?siktsradio. Denna uppsats so?ker att besvara hur Radio 1:s utbud och inneha?ll ser ut, vilka som kommer till tals i Radio 1, vilka influenser man kan finna fra?n den amerikanska fo?rlagan samt vilken position Radio 1 har pa? den svenska radiomarknaden.

Data och tvspelsbranschen är mansdominerad och har fått en hel del uppmärksamhet i media på senare tid. Dels för bristen av kvinnor som arbetar inom den och dels för kvinnosynen som uttrycker sig i spelen. Vi kommer använda ordet spelbranschen som synonym till data och tvspelsbranschen i resten av uppsatsen. Tidigare forskning har visat att utformningen av jobbannonser kan vara en bidragande faktor till att kvinnor inte söker sig till vissa arbeten. I denna studie har vi undersökt om jobbannonserna i spelbranschen i Sverige är maskulint könskodade och hur detta i sådana fall formulerats.
