Att ÄterberÀtta glÀdje : En studie av struktur och sprÄk i fem pojkars personligt Ätergivande texter

The aim of this study is to investigate how five boys in grade 3 of compulsory school structure and use language when they write narrative texts retelling and assessing personally experienced events. This is studied by interpreting how the boys use genre steps that are typical of the structure of personal narrative texts and by detecting and naming different linguistic features in the texts. The material in the study consists of five boys?personal reports and the method, which is based on the theories of genre pedagogy (see Johansson & Sandell Ring 2012:28ff, 223f), comes from systemic functional linguistics. A central finding of the study is that the boys structure their texts in varying combinations of genre steps which commonly occur in texts of a narrative kind.

These studies are done in behalf of Saab AB AVITRONICS in JÀrfÀlla in the form of a thesis atthe Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.The task was to examine the parameters that plays a role in the construction of modern radomesoperating in broadband applications.This was interesting for Saab to get an indication of which way they should go at the newdevelopment of radomes for the next generation of equipment for electronic warfare.After a thorough analysis of the influencing parameters, a optimization application was made toget a automated way to get a radome design by specifying data on the radome size, airloads,materials, etc.This is to minimise the time of the laborious work that radome development.inply.This was solved by letting ANSYS calculate the strength of the radome structure and MATLABcalculate electromagnetic data and cost models of different sizes and materials.All these parameters woven together with the optimization tool modeFrontier picks data from therespective program and perform an optimization algorithm and then iterate a step and sends thisdata to calculation programs for the new input data. In the end, we have received a convergedpoint with our optimal solution.For the presumptions and limitations for which applied for this thesis, the result was prettyintuitive. That is to say that the smaller radome - the less materal is needed and lowermanufacturing costs results in the cheapest solution possible. The reality is not so simple. Whereyou have to take more of the electrical details such as the effect on the transmitter as a majorfactor..

To derive quality from quantity

The purpose of this master thesis is to present a model that illuminates the important factors when deriving technical information from market data within a company. For companies to be able to become and stay competitive in the market, product quality is an important factor. Whilst good product quality leads to customer satisfaction and loyalty, lack of quality brings costs in service and replacements. To improve product quality, the developers need information and knowledge about what quality issues affect existing products. Most companies gather data from market about known issues, but in order eliminate known quality issues in new products; this data has to be transformed into information and knowledge.

Background: Phonemically balanced word lists are used when obtaining speech recognition scores in noise. These lists are designed for adults, but are still used for children. To properly obtain speech recognition scores in noise for children, normative data is needed to show what differences there are to be expected between children of different ages. Purpose: The main purpose is to obtain normative data for children in the ages of 7, 10 and 13 years for speech recognition scores in noise using words and to compare these with each other and with normative data of adults. A further purpose is to examine if there is any practice- or exhaustion effect to be seen when obtaining speech recognition scores in noise for children in the ages of 7, 10 and 13 years.Material: The participants were ten 7-year-olds, ten 10-year-olds and ten 13-year-olds.

Agile vs Hyper Agile : en studie av agilitet i metoder för datamodellering

Inom utvecklingen av de flesta typer av datorsystem anvÀnds datormodeller för att strukturera lagringen och anvÀndningen av data. LikasÄ finns det flera olika datamodelleringsmetoder att vÀlja bland för detta ÀndamÄl. I samarbete med ett företag har en fallstudie genomförts med syfte att undersöka hur agiliteten i tvÄ av dessa metoder pÄverkar utvecklingen av ett Data Warehouse (DW).  De tvÄ datamodelleringsmetoder som undersökts Àr Data Vaulting och Hyper Agility och arbetet har fokuserat pÄ att undersöka skillnaderna mellan dessa nÀr det gÀller mÀngden ETL-kod som mÄste skrivas, funktionaliteten i datatransformationerna, möjligheten till att uppdatera systemstrukturen samt den totala kostnaden för utvecklingen av DW-lösningen. Inom ramen för fallstudien har en litteraturstudie genomförts och kombinerats med material frÄn sex intervjuer, dÀr respondenterna varit konsulter sÄvÀl som företagsrepresentanter.

I am a glassblower and I am a woman. In this project I've been working with alternative representations of the female body, muscles and technology. Mouthblown objects contains traces of body and form representations.I've been using muscle sensors to collect data from my arms while I blow glass. A special has made 3D-models from the collected data and I've blown these viritual objects in glass.My work is based around issues like: What happens when I measure my muscles? Am I (and my process) affected by the data gathering? How can I create alternative representations of the female body? What is the relation between glassblowing, the objects, body and gender?.

Systematik eller subjetivitet? : En studie kring individuell lönesÀttning för lÀrare

The purpose of this study was to examine the routines of performance related pay systems in two Swedish municipal upper secondary schools. A second purpose was to examine what data was included for evaluation of a co-worker?s performance and how a principal collects data. The purpose was also to examine a principal and teachersÂŽ view of performance related pay systems and if it was possible to note an agreement. Principals have been interviewed and teachers have answered a questionnaire to fulfil the purposes of this study.The study shows that the municipality had a good routine that included individual discussions with co-workers about their salary and had fixed municipal criteria.

VÀlfÀrdseffekten av en konkurrensutsatt tÄgmarknad

The aim of this paper is to describe how to measure welfare effect of the deregulation and increased competition of the public transport by railway in Sweden. The paper also includes a numerical example of how to measure the welfare effect. In our study we use public data from SJ regaring quantity and ticket prices for the period 1996 - 2005. We have used equivalent variation, EV, as the method to measure the welfare effect. We demonstrate how to derive the equation to calculate EV by starting with a Marschallian demand function.

Möjligheter och begrÀnsningar i molnet

Idag vÀljer mÄnga företag och kommuner att placera data i molnet istÀllet för pÄ en lokal server, detta medför nya problem som tidigare inte varit aktuella. Datainspektionen har pÄpekat brister i hur tvÄ kommuner anvÀnder molntjÀnster för att lagra personlig data dÄ de stÀller sig tveksamma till molnleverantörernas hantering av data samt insynen till molnleverantörerena. I detta arbete kommer det undersökas hur den svenska personuppgiftslagen fungerar nÀr data lÀggs ut i en molntjÀnst. Resultatet av uppsatsen kommer Àven visa pÄ de olika sÀkerhetshoten som finns i molnet och se vad sÀkerhetsexperter sÀger för att ta reda pÄ om kommuner och företag Àr medvetna om och uppmÀrksammar samma hot. För att ta reda pÄ detta har intervjuer genomförts med en svensk molnleverantör, företag som utvecklar tjÀnster mot molnet, privatpersoner som nyttjar molnet och experter inom sÀkerhet frÄn Blekinge Tekniska Högskola, BTH.

This paper describes the development of a simulation model for the ambulance flow in the VÀstra Götalands-region of Sweden, and an analysis tool for the output of the simulation model. The aim of the simulation model was to be able to evaluate the outcome from changes in the ambulance operations, such as a reorganization of ambulances or an increase in intensity of the ambulance calls. This evaluation is meant to serve as decision support for the strategic planning of the ambulance operations. The analysis tool was developed to visualize the abundant geographical data produced by the simulation model in a meaningful way. The simulation model was validated against historical data which showed that the dispatch time for the highest prioritized ambulance calls corresponds well with historical data.

Det hÀr examensarbetet undersöker hur en databaslösning kan utformas för simuleringsbaserad ruttoptimering. DÄ det finns fÄ relaterade arbeten inom Àmnet syftar detta arbete till att undersöka hur en lÀmplig databaslösning kan utformas och ge riktlinjer för detta. Databaslösningen innefattar bÄde lagring av data samt Ätkomst och hantering av data. DÄ simuleringsbaserad optimering ofta Àr avancerad innebÀr detta att en stor och komplex mÀngd data mÄste hanteras. Simulator och optimerare anvÀnder denna data under sjÀlva optimeringsprocessen, vilket stÀller krav pÄ effektivitet och snabb Ätkomst. Arbetet Àr inriktat pÄ ett praktiskt problem dÀr sophantering av containrar simuleras och optimeras.

HÀlsa i Àmnet idrott och hÀlsa : En kvalitativ studie av elevers uppfattningar om begreppet hÀlsa och dess integrering i Àmnet idrott och hÀlsa

Syftet med denna uppsats Àr att undersöka gymnasieelevers uppfattning om hÀlsans integre-ring i idrott och hÀlsa undervisningen. Studien handlar Àven om att undersöka elevernas upp-fattning till hÀlsofrÄgor i allmÀnhet. Uppsatsen genomfördes pÄ en gymnasieskola i södra Sverige dÀr elever frÄn ett teknikprogram respektive ett barn-och fritidsprogram intervjuades genom kvalitativa intervjuer i tvÄ stycken fokusgrupper. Dessa fokusgrupper bestod av cirka fyra till fem elever i varje grupp. Svaren frÄn bÄda fokusgruppsintervjuerna analyserades med hjÀlp av habitus som en teoretisk utgÄngspunkt. Resultatet visar att eleverna anser att hÀlsa Àr starkt förknippat med fysisk aktivitet.

LCC-kalkyler i byggbranschen : förutsÀttningar och tolkning av resultat

Background:Life-cycle costing (LCC) is an investment calculation that takes intoaccount operating costs throughout the investee lifecycle. LCC calculations are mainly usedto evaluate investments that have no revenue side. Attempts to apply the LCC calculations forbuilding-related investments have occurred since the 1980s. Despite the advantages ofusing LCC calculations, use has not passed through in full. The main obstacles have beenidentified as a lack of relevant input data, and insufficient experience of workingwith LCC calculations.

Observiaire och film som analysmetod för cykeltrafik : En fallstudie pÄ Götgatan i Stockholm dÀr omstÀllningen till supercykelbana utreds

The goal of this thesis is to analyse whether the method ?Observiaire? is of any use for traffic analysis. The method consists of analysing film material, preferably before and after changes are made to an area, by answering a survey for the users that are observed within the population. The method also opens up for deeper qualitative analyses which are rooted in the quantitative data collected from the survey-study. In this study we analyse the method by applying it to the case study of the changes made at Götgatan in Stockholm, where a green wave was implemented and the bicycle road widened.
