Mainstream contemporary phenomenology understands the phenomenology of movement and dance through ?the lived body? of Merleau-Ponty. This paper rather suggests a phenomenology of movement and dance based on an understanding through ?the danced body? with ability to meta-feeling. It is here argued that we need to use a phenomenology of dance to understand the phenomenon of movement whatsoever.

Title: Improvisation ? a pedagogical perspective. This investigation studies how church musicians and pianists describe the use of improvisation in their teaching. The research questions focus on the relationship between improvisation and interpretation, the aim how to use improvisation and how this could be realized. To get the answer of these questions, I have interviewed two organists and two pianists, all excellent in their profession.

This work has been to find out what attitude the boys have towards dancing. To gather material conducted interviews with four boys from Sweden and four boys from South Africa to examine the boy?s attitude towards dancing. I wanted answers if the gender, culture or generation has an effect on the boys' attitude to dance. Two interviews were made with a teacher in Sweden and one in South Africa, which had responsibility for dance lessons at the school.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och analysera danslärare och danspedagogers uppfattningar kring begreppen improvisation, dansteknik och lärande inom dans i grundskolan. Dessa begrepp är på förhand skapade och används i dansundervisning, analys och tydliggörande av dessa begrepp är studiens syfte. Bakgrunden förankrar begreppen improvisation, dansteknik och lärande med litteratur och forskning om dansundervisning i skolan. Vidare presenteras styrdokumenten, Lpo 94 samt konceptet ?Dans i skolan?.

Syftet med denna studie är att analysera mitt eget improviserande och att reflektera kring mitt förhållningssätt till improvisation. I denna studie har jag utgått ifrån några av Warne Marshs kompositioner och improvisationer. Dessa har jag analyserat för att försöka ta reda på hur Marsh praktiskt gör när han improviserar samt hur hans inställning och syn på improvisation påverkar musiken. Uppsatsens syfte var att undersöka hur fri improvisation fungerar i gruppsångundervisning. Fokus låg på eventuella förändringar inom tre områden: synsätt på musik/musicerande, initiativförmåga samt uttrycksförmåga. Studien innebar observation av en sånggrupp som utövade fri improvisation under fyra tillfällen. Jag agerade både sångpedagog och observatör. Gruppen hade en sångpedagog sedan tidigare som parallellt med min studie undervisade och observerade dem.

Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka vilka undervisningsmetoder som pedagoger har som grund vid undervisning i fri improvisation, samt vilka tankegångar som ligger bakom undervisningsmetoderna. Genom tre intervjuer med verksamma musiker och pedagoger inom fri improvisation, så fann jag att de tankegångar som ligger bakom metoderna är till en stor del kopplade till den definition av fri improvisation som de intervjuade har. Metoderna som används inom fri improvisations-undervisning är många och varierade men huvudsakligen baserade på att eleven, dels skall bygga upp ett förråd av konventionella och icke konventionella speltekniker. Samt att eleven skall öva upp sin reaktionsförmåga och associativa sida, som används på det som sker i nuet. Detta är en paradox mot den erfarenhet som eleven har i sitt material/kunskapsstoff, vilket den bör bli medveten om genom reflekterande och ifrågasättande av det den gör..

I denna uppsats försöker jag beskriva vad begreppet improvisation innebär inom jazzmusik. Ämnet improvisation är för mig väldigt viktigt, det är ett ämne som jag valt att specialisera mig på i min musikhögskoleutbildning. Min förmåga att improvisera har hjälpt mig i många situationer i livet, framförallt sådana situationer där det gäller att kunna vara flexibel, till exempel spel- eller musikundervisningssituationer. Undersökningen baseras i huvudsak på intervjuer med fem olika svenska jazzmusiker. Jag har kommit fram till att begreppet improvisation är komplext och svårdefinierat.

The essay is an effort to examine and define three examples of liminal dance performances through an aesthetic, hermeneutic and semiotic analysis. The examples are three dance or liminal performances, made by three different choreographers and performed at ?Moderna Dansteatern? and ?Dansens Hus? in Stockholm during September and October 2005. In the effort to determine the liminal and cross-over in the performances, the analysis focus on aspects such as: the character of the work, choreography, the use of scenery, stage light, requisites, conception of place and interior room, the use of costume and mask, the use of different media as text, pictures, film, and music or not using any these, and the interaction with the audience. The analysis depends on a historical background and the use of literature in the subject.

Two teachers in two schools were interviewed and two focus groups of five students each were interviewed. One school is located north of Stockholm and the other one east of Stockholm. The interviews were recorded with a cellphone and transcribed.

I det här arbetet har jag skapat harmoniseringsverktyg till improvisation och nyskapande ackordföljder. Det handlar om att att göra något kreativt för att se om det finns något outforskat område inom musikteorin. Jag applicerade de nya ackordföljderna på traditionella jazzlåtar och reharmoniserar om dem även för improvisation. I mitt klingande resultat spelade jag in bakgrunder och melodier samt solon på gitarr där jag applicerade harmoniseringsverktygen. Sedan analyserade jag de aspekter och konsekvenser jag upplevde i processen och diskuterade framför allt min musikaliska utveckling.

Title: Teaching improvisation in different musical genres My curiosity for teaching improvisation in different genres emerged when I started playing with musicians who had another musical background than my own. I wanted to acquire a better understanding of what improvisation means to them and how improvisation is taught in their genre. The aim of this study is to gain insight into four pedagogues' methods of teaching improvisation. The four pedagogues represent the genres of jazz, blues, organ music and folk music. I chose these four genres for two reasons.

I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for three different conditions was made: - One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the stages with major technical conditions. - One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on site. - One design for very simple conditions. The first main purpose of this essay is to describe the situation of young women today here in this part of the world concerning influences from commercial media.The second purpose with this essay is to investigate if dance could be used as a tool against all these sterotyped and superficial pictures and ideals in the industy of commersial media.With some questions I also want to get closer to the answer if dancing is a way for young women to get insight knowledge. I also describe women from dance history who experienced that dance filled them up with energy but also environment where there was oppression.This essay has a gender perspective.The methods are manly based on literature studies but information is also gathered from the Internet and from one film.My results are that dance is a very constructive way to give the young woman that force which is needed when meeting media pictures everywhere. It gives her self-confidence, body awareness, joy and strength in life..

The purpose of this work is to explore the artistic processes of an ensemble where a musician and one or more dancers play together, either by improvising or by interpreting music that is written for the ensemble. The main themes are about finding ways to work with written material and still keep the communication between the music and the dance alive.
