In this study I have explored five parents reasoning about toys, from a gender perspective. During the interviews, we have reasoned about toys that are made for girls and for boys, what the differences are, and what advantages and disadvantages there might be for children to play with a variation of toys, made for both genders. The results of the study show that most of the participants are more accepting for girls playing with toys made for boys than the other way around, which indicates that boys? experience of the world might be somewhat limited, while girls have easier access to toys made for both genders..

Det uppdrag som vi har fått är att konstruera en utrustning som ska automatisera påhasplingsprocessen vid tillverkning av bandstål. Målet med det här examensarbetet är att ta fram ett produktionsunderlag åt uppdragsgivaren som ska ligga till grund för fortsatt arbete.Produktionsunderlaget ska innefatta ritningar, inköpslista för komponenter och en kostnadsberäkning. En förstudie genomfördes där vi besökte en av Sveriges största bandstålstillverkare för att undersöka vilka lösningar de hade på vårt problem. Utifrån det vi sett gjordes en konceptgenerering som ledde till det koncept som vi gick vidare med.Under arbetets gång har vi lagt stor vikt vid att göra konstruktionen så enkel som möjlig för att få en rimlig tillverkningskostnad. Vi har också tagit hänsyn till att konstruktionen ska integreras med befintlig utrustning.

Bakgrunden till detta arbete är att man inom Autoliv (Vårgårda) tillverkar reservdelar dels när en bilmodell fortfarande går i serieproduktion, men också upp till 15 år efter det att bilmodellen gått ur serieproduktion. Utifrån en nulägesanalys konstaterades att problemen kunde delas in i två områden, vid övergången från serietillverkning till reservdelstillverkning (EOP) och vid tillverkning av reservdelar. Problemen upplevdes främst vara hur mycket reservdelar som kommer att efterfrågas de kommande åren (d.v.s. behov av komponenter och kapacitet i produktionsutrustning, behov av lagerplatser m.m.). Samt i vissa fall problem med kompetens när gamla artiklar åter skall produceras.

The saw blade producer, Håkansson Sågblad AB, patented in the U.S. a new blade profiledesigned specially to cut fish and meat. The most important advantage of that blade is that its teethare not set, therefore the material lost when cutting is really smaller. The special geometry of thatprofile made that nobody had found a proper way to produce it before.The goal of the outlined work is to develop a machine to produce these new blades in afeasible way.The research approach of the project can roughly be divided into three phases:1.- Invention and development of a proper distribution of blades to produce a big amount ofthem at the same time.2.- Research of the best production process to produce the blades.3.- Main design of the machine to produce the blades.In the Thesis these three points are carefully developed and studied in the form of the startpoint of a really bigger project. Some tests had been done in order to prove all the analytical ideasand the results obtained had been satisfactory enough to give Håkansson the start point of a bigbusiness.

Varulager är en post som tar upp en mycket stor del av ett företags tillgångar. Värderingsproblematiken är väldigt stor och många företag lägger ner betungande arbete för en korrekt värdering av sitt varulager. Vi har därför valt att studera hur tillverkande företag inom olika branscher skiljer sig från varandra vid värdering av varulager.Tillverkande företag är företag som har olika slags tillverkning. I den här typen av företag förädlas produkter från obearbetade råvaror till färdiga produkter. På så sätt uppstår tre olika lager, lager av råvaror, produkter i arbete och lager av färdiga varor.Vid värdering av dessa lager finns olika flödesmodeller och värderingsprinciper att tillgå.

In recent years, existing solutions for cooling personal computer CPUs have been supplemented by a new product category, factory sealed water cooling loops. These systems, consisting of a water block with an integrated pump, a fan and a radiator, perform well compared to the air cooling solutions but are less effective than larger, custom-built water cooling systems.This project aims to explore the most important aspects of a factory sealed system and to identify possible cost-effective enhancements of the performance.The most significant differences between the different groups of water cooling loops are the block design and the pumping power. The performance of both categories is also largely dependent on the fan power, but increasing fan power has a large negative impact on the noise level.Both radiator size and fan model choice appear, in tests, to be relatively unimportant, presuming that the noise level is kept constant. The position and direction of the fan, however, has significant impact on both the temperature and the sound level.Water blocks can be designed in several different ways, both regarding the heatsink design and the flow direction. In simulation, flow with the inlet centered above the heatsink result in considerably lower pressure drop and slightly higher temperatures than flow through the block, for heatsinks with fin arrays.Creating a competitive product in this product segment certainly seems possible, as there are performance-increasing changes to be made that seemingly has little impact on the production cost.

SECO Tools manufactures tool inserts for all types of metal cutting machining. (Ti,W)C is a common raw material used in the production. At arrival, the material (Ti,W)C is always analyzed. Titanium has previously been analysed with x-ray fluorescence spectrometry, but as the calibration has previously been performed with two different types of titanium (rutile and metallic titanium), the results has differed. Because of that, this thesis project has been devoted to analyze titanium, to find the best titanium compound for producing standards.The work has been performed using literature studies and many experiments in the laboratories at SECO Tools inFagersta,Sweden.

Galna Glassen is a company that has a unique way of selling ice cream in Sweden. The idea is for the costumer to be able to compose their own favorite ice cream, partly by choosing the flavor of ice cream but also by picking the ingredients. The ingredients that can be chosen from are around twenty and can be everything from cookies to candy to berries. When the costumer has chosen their ice cream and ingredients they are mixed together on a cooled granite board.The company was very successful when it was founded in the summer of 2011 and decided to expand to other cities in Sweden. They also wanted to explore the profitability of a mobile sales unit that is intended for festivals and events.The thesis is meant to develop Galna Glassen?s mobile sales unit.

Detta examensarbete är en fortsatt utveckling av ett tidigare arbete som jag själv tagit fram i kursen ?Datorstödd Konstruktion och Prototypframtagning 22,5hp?. Tanken är att jag tillsammans med företaget Ugglarps Mekaniska m.fl. ska försöka ta fram en färdig modell och prototyp på en kameravagn som har till uppgift att underlätta möjligheten att göra jämna och följsamma filmningar i olika sorters miljöer. Examensarbetet som jag genomför omfattar endast 7,5hp till skillnad ifrån de vanligaste förekommande examensarbetena som är på 15hp.

The consultancy firm Knowit sought a smartphone application for communication between schools and pupils. Together with the students, it was decided to create the app both for Android and for iPhone. The project would produce a prototype app with limited functionality usable as a proof-of-concept in communication with potential customers.The questions that have characterized the work are; what features would be demanded in a school app, how to program user-friendly functionality and how to use object-orientation to design such an app. A question has also mentioned the differences between development for iOS and Android. The work was done in an iterative process in which the students worked together with planning, programming and testing.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på det Uppsalabaserade läkemedelsföretaget Kemwell AB, tillsammans med Leankonsultbyrån Valcon AB. Syftet med arbetet var att förbättra Kemwells produktionsplanering utifrån produktionsfilosofin Lean, med målet att skapa förutsättningar  för  sänkta  tillverkningskostnader  och  kortare ledtider. Inledningsvis gjordes en studie av relevant litteratur inom Lean. För att få en tydlig bild av den befintliga produktionsplaneringen genomfördes omfattande studiebesök och intervjuer med de anställda. Därefter analyserades resultaten av dessa, och lämpliga lösningsförslag på de problem vi identifierat togs fram.

The Swedish model for developing the national infrastructure is based on increasing the cooperation between municipalities, government and businesses. The method to establish the infrastructure in Sweden is the geodatastrategin. The effort to implement the geodatastrategin has resulted in an interaction model, Geodatasamverkan. The purpose of this study is to alert municipalities and to investigate the usefulness of their participation in Geodatasamverkan. The study also presents examples of different applications where geodata can be used within a municipality. The report is based on literature reviews, surveys and interviews. Online Surveys were sent to some of Sweden's municipalities to get an overall idea of ??how they make use of geodata and their general attitude towards Geodatasamverkan.
