Sweden is facing a shift in generation where the people born in the 1940s are starting to retire which results in consequences. Before the year of 2013 more than 180 000 companies will have to change owner. A study indicates that the majority of all Swedes in the age of 18-70 can consider becoming company owners.Only ten percent of the companies for sale will reach the company broker and another 15 percent will be mediated by legal experts and accountants. This means that 75 percent of the companies for sale will not be available for the public market. As a potential buyer this is a problem.

Single vehicle accidents are one of the most common types of accidents that occur on the Swedish road network. Depending on the design of the road, the presence of a crash barrier and embankment on the roadside, the outcome of a roadside collision can lead to serious injuries and even deaths.The aim of this project is to investigate the possibility of improving road safety by designing the optimal roadside area based on the results of a life cycle cost analysis (LCC).The questions that have been answered during the duration of this project are:1) Describe the current technical solutions for roadside area design and the various barrier types used in Sweden.2) Complete an existing mathematical model that has been developed by Hawzheen Karim, for calculating life-cycle costs for various roadside areas.3) Calculate and compare the life cycle costs for the side area with a barrier and without a barrier.By performing an analysis of the documentation on the current guidelines and rules for shaping the roadside, was it possible to describe the current technical solutions for the formation the roadside as well as the current roadside barriers in use today. A mathematical model for calculating the life cycle costs of different barrier types had already been developed by Hawzheen Karim. This model was supplemented so that it could calculate life-cycle costs of the roadside region with and without a barrier. After the model was completed, an analysis was performed to obtain life-cycle costs of a roadside with and without a barrier.The result showed that there is a clear relationship between the slope inclination, fill height, and the rate at which the costs rise.

The current standards for design of steel beams are divided into four classes based on the slenderness of cross-sectional parts. Depending on the section class a beams load capacity is either determined by a plastic, elastic or a reduced elastic model. The division between cross-sections calculated by a plastic and an elastic model is today done in a very harsh way with no smooth transition. This leads to a large difference in the calculated resistance for the sections located near the class limits. Elasto-plastic sections are in the current situation calculated as purely elastic and their large plastic reserve is not considered in the current standards.

In Sweden there are 354 000 private individuals owning forest. Of these forest owners there are at least two thirds that are self-employed, which means that about 215 000 forest owners conduct some kind of work in their own forest. Those numbers do not refer to firewood production, but every year 7.3 million piled cubic meters of firewood are used for heating Swedish households. This implies that many households are also producing firewood. The objective of this study was to assess and analyse the small-scale firewood production in the Umeå-region in terms of persons engaged in the work, equipment used, produced volumes and share of forest-owning households involved in these activities. According to results from a questionnaire, the average firewood producing person is a man between 40-60 years old.

Detta examensarbete är utfört på uppdrag av Vägverket Region Syd. Sveriges vägnät håller på att anpassas till den europeiska standarden, men det finns fortfarande en hel del begränsningar kvar på mindre vägar. Vi har inte tillräcklig kunskap om vilka problem dessa begränsningar medför för tunga transporter och Vägverket är angeläget om att klarlägga, vilken nytta det skulle vara att göra förstärkningsåtgärder. Jag har undersökt ett landsbygdsområde i södra Östergötland och de begränsningar som finns här på flera vägar är dålig bärighet i första hand för broarna och hög tjälfarlighet. Syftet med undersökningen är att göra en kartläggning av de tunga godstransporterna och de problem begränsningarna på vägarna medför för näringslivet.

Bakgrund: Stressrelaterad ohälsa och utmattningssyndrom ökar i Sverige vilket leder till fler långtidssjukskrivningar. Detta innebär ett stort lidande för de drabbade och höga kostnader för samhället. Stress som kvarstår under längre tid påverkar kroppen negativt och leder till kognitiv utmattning, sömnproblematik, utbredd trötthet, somatiska besvär, irritabilitet och negativ affekt. Utsatta personer är även i riskgrupper för allvarliga somatiska sjukdomar.Syfte: Att beskriva förekomsten av stressrelaterad ohälsa och utmattningssyndrom i en storstads-region.Metod: Data samlades in genom ett tvärsnittsurval bland kvinnor och män i arbetsför ålder boende i en storstadsregion. Mätinstrumentet som användes var Karolinska Exhaustion Scale (KES) (26).

Abstract ? What is an exhibition hall? ? How do you create tension between art and nature? ? Why should an exhibition hall be situated in the country side; would that add to the experience? ? What are the conditions of exhibiting contemporary art? These are some of the questions I first asked myself when I came to work with this project on an exhibition hall outside Kivik, Österlen. These questions brought me to new places, meetings and ideas. The team working actively to realize this project, calls it ?Art by the Sea?. The team has been working with the project since 2001 .

GY11 uttalar vikten av att arbeta med entreprenörskap på gymnasiet. På Ekonomiprogrammet ligger det uttryckt i examensmålen att det ska vara ett obligatorium. Ämnet ?entreprenörskap? har en teoretisk, politisk och en praktisk bakgrund. SyfteSyftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur lärare som undervisar i ämnet entreprenörskap förstår begreppet och hur de går tillväga i sin undervisning.

During 2006 SNVDB (the national road data base for forestry) is being introduced to Holmen Skog. This data base contains all information about Holmen Skogs road systems. The information will then be used in different kinds of optimisation models which only produce correct and reliable results if the input data are of the adequate quality. Today there are reasons to believe that road data is of various qualities. The forest roads are often in a bad condition and have to be improved before a planned harvest. The cost of maintenance and construction of new roads is a large part of the total harvesting cost.

Den svenska exporten till Mellanösternregionen utgör endast en liten del av den totala svenska exporten. Enligt de senaste siffrorna från SCB för år 2004, uppgick den endast till 3.3% av den totala exporten. Intresset för hela denna region har länge varit svalt, och många faktorer ligger till grund för detta. Ett exempel kan vara att den politiska situationen i regionen kännetecknas av instabilitet och turbulens. Vidare kan olika kulturella skillnader och en generell okunskap om regionen inverkat på ett sådant sätt att svenska företag har prioriterat andra marknader.

Broad beans are becoming a larger crop in Sweden. This is probably due to the current discussion about the cultivation of soya beans that are imported to be used as protein fodder. Broad beans are a good break crop in a small grain intensive crop rotation and works as a protein source for animals together with for example ley. At present little research has been done on broad beans and more knowledge is needed. This study is about fungal communities and diseases on broad beans and the impact of these fungi on seed germination.

Ett införlivande av yrkesrollen och en identifikation utefter denna är något som händer många individer, speciellt vid dem tillfällen yrket kräver mycket av individens engagemang och tillförlitlighet. Studien syftar till att undersöka yrkesgruppen polis och hantering och möjliga strategier som kommer med det komplexa yrket, och då specifikt upplevelsen av närmandet mellan yrkesliv och privatliv. Även att se om olika strategier för hantering och gränsdragning mellan yrkesliv och privatliv existerar. I denna studie har en kvalitativ metod tillämpats och en intervjustudie inom poliskåren utgör det empiriska material som studien baserar sig på. Materialet har i sin tur analyserats utefter valda teorier inom Goffmans dramaturgiska perspektiv i samband med en teori om individens befinnande i en mittenregion.

Today more effective computer programs are in use, regarding design of geotechnicalconstructions. There is a risk that the theoretical background of the computerprograms, its limitations and the signification of the choice of soil parameter isforgotten when the computer programs become more user-friendly.This Master thesis deals with simulation and analysis regarding three computerprograms, FEM-design, with the addition Raft, Plaxis and BE-slab. Comparisons aremade for settlement and maximum moment in a concrete-plate. FEM-design is a threedimensional FEM-program, foremost created for design engineers. Plaxis is a twodimensional FEM-program, intended for geotechnical engineers while BE-Slab is aBoundary elements program in two dimensions that is mainly used by designengineers.

Rastplatser är något många tar förgivet, de bara finns där längs vägarna med jämna mellanrum. Tyvärr stämmer inte det i hela Sverige. Södra Sverige har ett bra nätverk med rastplatser som kommer med bra mellanrum. Från Gävle och norrut finns det tyvärr en helt annan bild. På rastplatskartan från 2010 ser man tydligt att rastplatserna blir färre och färre ju längre norr ut man kommer.

Sweden has a natural gas grid extending along the west coast, from Trelleborg to Stenungsund. There are also several smaller local networks where a planned natural gas pipeline from Skutskär to Hofors prompted the need for a comprehensive study. This study examines the linkages that exist in terms of technology and market of natural gas and biogas in Sweden. Sweden has set high targets for the future with ambition to become independent of coal and oil as energy sources. Since 1985, a part of the solution has been import of Danish natural gas.
