The democratic conditions in national states have change radically at the same time as the society has changed. Because of social and economic globalization processes, the states and government has lost power for the benefit of transnational and global institutions. That affects the democracy since the nation state earlier defined the domain of citizenship. At the same time, citizens? confidence towards political parties and politicians has gone down.

The new accounting standards IFRS and IAS was implemented in January 2005, the purpose was to harmonize accounting standards world wide. As a result of these new rules the real estate companies are allowed to appraise real estates assets at market value. It has long been debated whether this appraisal fulfils the requirements for relevance, reliability and comparability.The paper attends to how banks control the information given by the real estate companies in the process of credit granting. As an introduction we describe the purpose of accounting and the problematic´s about appraisals with market values. Further on there is a discussion on which factors are taken into consideration when banks grant credits.The study is built on interviews at three different commercial banks.

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att få en bättre förståelse för hur ett företags kriskommunikation kan se ut i förhållande till dagens kommunikationsteknologi. Med dagens kommunikationsteknologi menas i denna uppsats sociala medier och bloggar. För att uppnå syftet har en fallstudie gjorts för att undersöka ett företags kriskommunikation i sociala medier och bloggar. Fallstudien har gjorts på teknikföretaget Sony och deras kris från 2011 när deras nätverk hackades. Nätverket används av Sonys kunder för att spela tv-spel online samt för att köpa digitala varor och tjänster via Sonys tv-spelskonsoler.

Det svenska samhället blir alltmer mångkulturellt. I och med den ökade invandringen behöver hälso- och sjukvård uppmärksamma kulturens betydelse för patienters hantering av sin sjukdom. Utan förståelse för individers kulturella värderingar är det svårt för vårdpersonal att förstå hur individers copingmönster påverkas vid ohälsa. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur kulturella hälsoövertygelser kan påverka människors copingmönster vid ohälsa. Till resultatet användes 13 artiklar (elva kvalitativa, en kvantitativ samt en som var både kvantitativ och kvalitativ) som granskades och analyserades.

School and education are topics that are frequent in Swedish media. The intention of this essay has therefore been to investigate the image of teachers and their profession in Swedish daily press. The overall aim has been to analyze how teachers are portrayed in the debate that followed the TV-show Klass 9A, and by that find how the debate defines the concept of a good teacher. The representation that was found was then compared to earlier studies. The series was shown on Swedish television between January and March 2011.26 articles were chosen and the ambition was to have various perspectives represented, such as different voices and also papers from different areas of the country.

The concept of vulnerability is the capacity or the sensitivity to become damaged. Vulnerability are characterized by one or more of the following terms; a system´s sensitivity to exposure to shock, stress or interference, the state of the system in relations to a threshold of damages, and the system´s ability to adapt to the changing circumstances. Vulnerability in this study is referring to the sensitivity of the circumstances that lead to sustainable livelihood that can´t be maintain and that there is an inability to cope with and manage stress. The choice of making a study in this area is based on that action needs to be taken to moderate the vulnerable aspects of society, in this respect in relations to storms. Analyzes of the social vulnerability to climate change or natural events is needed for effective actions.

On Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm there has been a large increase in issues of preferred stocks since the financial Crisis 2008. Aiming to explain whether preferred stocks have most of their characteristics relating to debt or equity, we answer four sub questions. Do all preferred stocks share the same features, or do they differ from each other? Our population is similar in characteristics, except for the preferred stock of Swedbank which is convertible and deviates when it comes to participation in dividends - instead of convertible the others are limited and redeemable. Further, the second sub question treats preferred stock in relation to the common stock quantitatively, in market data.

Elderly couples have a right to live together. On June 1st 2006 the Swedish government extended couples? rights, granting special consideration to elderly partners to enable them to receive care in the same home. But what happens if only one of them is eligible for care? This paper has studied how elderly couples were affected in situations where one partner was unable to continue living at home, and what measures could be taken to improve their situation.

This study focuses upon the new societal objects that are termed public privatepartnerships where the public sector forms strategic alliances with the private sectorand the civil society to manage the wicked issues of today. An exampel of suchcooperation is Vänerhamn AB where the municipalities around the lake of Vänernand the private shipping companies got togheter to handle an economic Crisis of theshipping buisiness. The partnership Vänerhamn has developed from a problematicactivity to a healthy company and the aim of this thesis is to illuminate thisdevelopment through an historical institutional approach, focusing critical junctureto discover if the governance theory can be used to understand the partnershipspositive process. This will be done through research questions about the organisation of thepartnership, about the members interests with the partnership and about eventuallycoordination problems in the partnership. The questions derive from dimensions ingovernance theory, central for the activity of partnerships. Interviews with centralinformants where held and it was complemented through a document analyses inorder to search for indications of the dimensions and that is the methodologicalapproach of the study. The conclusion of this thesis is that the governance theory can be used tounderstand Vänerhamns postive development since the members interest with thepartnership to a begining was not at all conformed and that led to obviouscoordination problems.

This essay concerns the possible tabloidization of Swedish daily newspapers. To investigate if tabloidization theory could be supported, a case-study is made using the isolated Crisis of an especially big forest-fire in the county of Västmanland in Sweden in the summer of 2014. One local paper of the daily press, Vestmanlands Läns Tidning and one tabloid-paper with a national spread, Aftonbladet, are compared using quantitative content analysis to see whether there are similarities or differences enough to support or reject that the daily press is under influence of tabloidization. The results of the two papers news coverage of the fire are compared in three main categories; Theme, Source and Value-words. These categories represent three of tabloidization?s main criteria; ?soft news?, personification of sources and more use of words that connote strong values as signs of a lower quality in journalism.

Introduction: About 160 children with Down syndrome are born each year in Sweden. They will spend their first time in life at the neonatal departments around the country. Previous research has shown that parents in these situations have experienced an unsatisfying behaviour from the caregivers and that they are not getting the care they desire. However the research that reflects the nurses? role in these situations is sparsely studied.

What is the Church? This question has been asked in many times and places. In Sweden, it seems asif there's a general identity Crisis among the churches. It seems like many churches don't know whythey exist, or at least they have a very vague understanding of the full meaning of the Church.Some 50 years ago, we had a new encounter in Sweden. Immigrants from Orthodoxcountries came to live here, and they brought their church and tradition with them.

Upptakten till krisen utspelade sig i Argentina under 1880 talet. Landet hade efter inre oroligheter stabiliserats och i likheter med Sverige ett decennium tidigare fått ökade exportintäkter efter ökad efterfrågan på råvaror som landet exporterade. Med guldstandardens internationella etablering och större kapitalflöden över gränserna blev stora kapitalsatsningar i Argentina möjliga. Tidigare brittiskt monopol som finansiell mellanhand till argentinska myndigheter luckrades upp under den senare hälften av 1880 talet av först franska sedan tyska affärssyndikat. Ökad konkurrens mellan affärsbankerna och spekulation på börserna skapade snart en hysterisk efterfrågan på argentinska värdepapper, främst obligationer på järnvägskonstruktioner trots monetär inkonvertibilitet, ökande handelsunderskott samt skenande utlandsskuld.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom patientjournaler undersöka hur mentalpatienter har behandlats vid Lunds hospital under åren 1879,1896 samt 1916. Det som undersökts är vilka personer som intogs för vård, vilka intagningsskälen var, vilken diagnos som tilldelades de intagna samt vilken behandling de sinnessjuka fick. Källmaterialet har bestått av patientjournaler från avgångna patienter och detta material finns på Arkivcentrum Syd i Lund. Metoden som jag använt mig av har gått ut på att gå igenom journalerna och undersöka vilka diagnoser som tilldelades de sjuka, hur långa vistelsetiderna var, kvinnornas ålder och civilstånd, vilka intagningsorsakerna var samt vilka behandlingar och mediciner som ordinerades. Resultaten av undersökningen räknades sedan ihop och sammanställdes i tabeller vilka ligger som bilagor i arbetet.
