Idag väljer nästintill alla pappor att närvara vid sitt barns födsel. Vid förlossningen erbjuds han att klippa navelsträngen. Detta klippande är en symbolisk handling som har kommit att bli en ritual. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur förstagångspappor ställer sig till att klippa sitt barns navelsträng vid födseln, samt dess tankar och upplevelser kring handlingen. En enkät med slutna och öppna frågor delades ut vid tre BB-avdelningar vid olika sjukhus i Västsverige.

In May 2004 eight former communist countries (EU-8) with close historical trade ties to Russia joined the European Union. According to integration theory, we expect that Russia ? a so called third country ? in some cases may suffer from trade diversion due to this. This thesis focuses on the possible effects on Russian trade resulting from the 2004 eastern enlargement of the European Union. It aims to find out whether any evidence of trade diversion can be found.

This thesis is an investigation of Iranian immigrants and their use of libraries in Sweden. It isbased on a combination of a qualitative and a·quantitative method.Using a qualitative method, I give an outline of the history of lran from ancient times up to the present, as well as the different ethnological groups in Iran and their cultures. The main objective of this part is to clarify the contrasts between Iranian and Swedish cultural, social, linguistic and family structures, and also the characteristics of the crisis that most immigrants go through on their arrival in the new country. The qualitative method also involves structured telephone interviews with eight highly educated Iranians.This method was supplemented by a quantitative study through questionnaires of the attitudes· of lranian immigrants to libraries and reading. Iranians in Sweden turned out to be frequent Iibrary users.

This report describes the creation of an interactive text system for storing, retrieval and publishing of texts, ITS.My task was to create a GUI together with a database capable of handling text, commenting of texts, references between texts, and the capability to associate images with texts.After enough texts have been inserted into the database, there shall be an ability to generate a report out of them.The report describes the methods used when the GUI was implemented, how the database was modelled and implemented, and how the security aspects where solved.The entire project is created with the help of Java, MySQL server, Connector/J and OpenSSL.Furthermore the functions of the GUI and the future of ITS is described..

Background: Schizophrenia is a serious disease with potential to implicate consequences on both the family and the sick. Nurses have a fundamental responsibility to relieve suffering, and also to offer support to both the individual and the family.Aim: To illuminate experiences of being a family member to a person with schizophrenia.Method: A systematic literature review was chosen. Nine articles were included. After having analyzed the results six categories were found.Result: The family members experienced the disease as fluctuating and stressful. Some felt ashamed for their sick family member and withdrew from the rest of the society.

Med anledning av att flera kriser av extraordinära slag har inträffat i fredstid har förmågan att hantera dessa fått stor uppmärksamhet. Ett exempel är stormen Gudrun som lamslog delar av Sverige i januari 2005. För att kunna hantera sådana kriser behövs en fungerande beredskap och här har kommunerna en viktig roll. Om kommunerna har en väl utvecklad krisberedskap kan samhället bättre klara av en kris. Genom utvärderingar och erfarenheter från kriser har det visat sig att samverkan mellan kommuner är av stor betydelse för en god krisberedskap.

Denna fallstudie berör Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) och den interna kommunikationen av CSR inom finanssektorn. De organisationer studien har applicerats på är Swedbank och Nordea där studien belyser kommunikation av CSR från central nivå till lokal och vise versa. Idag blir företag i större utsträckning än tidigare granskade inom områdena samhällsarbete och hållbarhetsfrågor. Swedbank och Nordea är två stora aktörer inom finanssektorn, en sektor som tidigare setts ha en mer indirekt påverkan än direkt, och verkar för att samhället ska fungera genom in- och utlåning.Den externa kommunikationen från organisationerna bygger på att den interna kommunikationen ska fungera och leda till ett utförande av det som utlovas på hemsidor, CSR-rapporter, hållbarhetspolicys etc. För att undersöka detta har en kvalitativ fallstudie genomförts med intervjuer genomförda på central, regional och lokal nivå inom de både organisationerna.

It also concerns the conventional norm, which declares that states are not allowed to interfere in other states? internal affairs. In this report female farmers use of technical equipment is investigated. There is little research made on this subject in Sweden, therefore this report can be seen as an explorative study. This essay is intended for veterinary nurses and its purpose is to contribute to an increased knowledge about the ferret and there by a better nursing care at clinics. The essay discuss in briefness origin and earlier use of the ferret but also anatomy, physiology and reproduction. The senses of the ferret, as vision and hearing, are described in connection with behaviour. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka vad som påverkar begriplighet och användbarhet i texter som ska an­vändas som stöd för handling. Ett delsyfte är att bidra till diskussionen om hur dessa faktorer kan undersökas på ett textanalytiskt sätt. Materialet för studien är tio myndig­hets­­texter som handlar om olika procedurer som företagare be­höver utföra. Jag granskar texter­na i tre analyskategorier. För det första undersöker jag modelläsningen, alltså hur texterna kan an­vän­das och hur de signalerar hur de är tänkta att användas.

The main purpose of this thesis has been to investigate librarians opinions about the need for and possibility to use non-roman script in library catalogues. We have also investigated the routines of handling materials in non-roman scripts in two Swedish libraries. The investigation was made in the light of the recent shift in character set in the Swedish National Library Catalogue Libris. This change will enable use of multiple writing systems in the future.Our findings are that a multicultural society requires special consideration to the needs of citizens who speak other languages than the majority of the population. This becomes difficult when the languages spoken have a different writing system than the one used by the majority.

Eastern Europeans in Gotland is an essay with the purpose to find out how persons born in Eastern Europeans countries have adapted and integrated on Gotland. European community and notions about other groups of immigrants on Gotland have been relevant questions besides. The results of the essay show that the conditions for adaptation and integration are very different between the periods of time and for the individuals, depending on how they arrived to Sweden. The migrant workers quickly adapted to the labour market and had good premises to be in a position of financial independence. The demands of skills were low in the 60?s, but as a result of this, many of them didn?t learn the Swedish language very well and during the crisis in the 90?s they were no longer that attractive on the labour market.
