I denna rapport redovisas en studie av hur nationella mål inom samhällsplaneringsområdet kan brytas ned till lokalnivå. Studien avgränsas till att studera hur en kommun skall välja markområden för framtida bostadsbebyggelse med målet om hållbarhet. För att få en tillämpning av metoderna så används Umeå kommun som illustration. Umeå kommun har tydligt angivit en hållbar utveckling som mål i sin översiktsplan, tack vare detta fås dessutom en intressant diskussion om hur väl kommunen lyckats med att nå detta mål. För att kunna utröna hur väl kommunens utbyggnadsordning svarar mot en hållbar utveckling används multikriterieanalys.

The goal of this project was to together with Cochlear Bone Anchored Solutions AB develop a new cleaning tool for their Baha?systems. Cochlear BAS AB is a daughter company to Cochlear Limited based in Sydney, Australia. Cochlear BAS AB is situated in Gothenburg and with its 150 employees develop and manufacture the Baha?system.

Älvdalens Savings Forest was formed in the late 1800's. During this time the country was conducting the first major land reform in Sweden, namely the redistribution of arable land through government action. In Älvdalen people saw an opportunity to form Savings Forest, that is jointly owned forests, where everyone would get part of the proceeds. The yield in the first place would cover were costs to manage and monitor the forest and to the measures to ensure regrowth and improve the forests. You could also use the proceeds to develop the area and make it easier for the population to manage their forest. In early summer, a survey was sent to all the members of Älvdalens Savings Forest.

Within agriculture it is important to optimize the use of nitrogen, not only from an economic point of view but also to minimize damage to the environment. This can sometimes be difficult, especially within organic farming. Organic farmers are using increasing amounts of waste products from the food industry to cover their nitrogen needs. These different organic fertilizers release nitrogen at different rates and under specific soil conditions. Because of this, it would be beneficial to have a standardized method to measure the amount and rate of nitrogen mineralization from organic fertilizers. This project contributes to this knowledge by investigating whether relatively simple and repeatable laboratory methods can be used to estimate the nitrogen fertilizer value of organic fertilizers.

En konsument blir ständigt påverkad av olika intryck i en butik där produkter slåss om uppmärksamhet och försöker att särskilja sig från konkurrenter. En produkt som trängs med flera andra på butikshyllan är tidskrifter, där antal titlar på den svenska marknaden har ökat med 40 procent de senaste tio åren. Det har tidigare forskats kring vilka färger som sägs påverka människor i köpsituationer, så som att rött är en bra färg för att intressera en konsument, men detta betyder inte nödvändigtvis att det leder till ett köp. Vad är det då som intresserar konsumenten när det gäller färg? Vilka färger på ett tidskriftsomslag är det som intresserar en målgrupp mest respektive minst och varför är det så? Finns det ett samband mellan vilka färger som intresserar målgruppen och de färger som faktiskt leder till köp? Den här studien undersöker hur färg på tidskriftsomslag påverkar en konsument, både gällande associationer, känslor och köpbehov. Den tidskrift som varit i fokus för studien är Cosmopolitan, som befinner sig inom genren Livsstil för kvinnor, med målgruppen kvinnor mellan 20-30 år.

Water related problems are highlighted as a challenge to sustainable development and the topic of forests and water is gaining increased attention worldwide. Governing forest and water is a complex issue, as the interactions are affected by policies and actors from multiple levels and sectors. In Sweden, forests cover much of the land and forestry is an important land-use, inevitably impacting the water in the landscape. This study aims to understand and explain the existing governance framework around forestry and water in Sweden. Based on the Policy Arrangement Approach, the study?s research questions focused on the actors involved, the formal and informal rules, the resources and power structures and the discourses related to forestry and water in Sweden.

Combustion of fossil fuels is today the dominating source of energy. During combustion,carbon dioxide is formed. The carbon dioxide accumulates in the atmosphere,which raises the global average temperature on earth through the so called greenhouseeffect. The only way to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide from combustionin a coal fired power plant is through carbon capture and storage (CCS).Post-combustion capture is a technology to separate carbon dioxide from the uegas after the combustion for efficient transport and storage. The steady state operationof coal fired power plants with post combustion capture has already beenthoroughly investigated on a pilot scale, however much work remains to investigatethe plants dynamic operation.

`Stort landskap på liten yta` är ett gestaltningsförslag till en askgravplats för Korsbackakyrka i Kävlinge. Låga former blev en givande lösning för att inte påverka kyrkogårdens hela samanhållna karaktär och för att inte skapa obalans i kyrkogårdsrummet. Med ett vattenarrangemang och prasslande bambu, vill jag kamouflera yttre ljud och aktivitet och bidra till en mer meditativ plats. Jag ville inte bara skapa en gravplats åt de avlidna utan ett landskap för de efterlevande. Med inspiration hämtat från den japanska stenträdgårdana fick små gravstenar bli till klippor och öar. Och istället för polerade stenar uppradade i kvarter, en del av en helhet i ett stenlandskap. ur dagboken den 10,13 april, 2012 Askgravplatser ligger ofta samlade i mindre områden eller kvarter på kyrkogården och upplåts med gravrätt. Dessa platser markeras med en sten och det finns ofta strikta regler om hur pyntning och plantering får ske. Oftast kan två eller flera urnor begravas under samma sten och det ska finnas möjlighet till att tända ett ljus vid graven. Efter platsbesök och öppet samtal med kyrkogårdsvaktmästare Johan Solstad och mailkorrespondens med Kyrkoherde Mats Andersson-Risberg togs den här behovslistan fram. ? Askgravplatsen ska hålla cirka 40 gravplatsen och cirka 26-27 gravstenar (Äkta makar ska kunna begravas under samma sten.

A severe profitability decline in sugar beet production in all of Europe is one of the consequences of the latest reform of the EU sugar regime. In south of Sweden, sugar beets is the crop that has been the most profitable by far for the last decade. The high profitability has contributed to the high rate of increase in the price of land and has restrained the structural change towards a more effective agriculture. Because of the reform, all sugar beet producers are facing diminishing income and must find ways to compensate this. The aim of this master thesis is to study how Swedish farmers adapt to the sugar beet reform. A questionnaire was sent to 354 randomly selected sugar beet producers.

Det finns många olika anledningar till varför man väljer att så mellangrödor. I detta försök har vi valt att fokusera på själva mellangrödan och inte på användningsområdet. Försöket går ut på att undersöka kol- och kvävehalten i oljerättika och maträttika (Strukturator). Definitionen på en mellangröda är något som man odlar mellan två huvudgrödor. Målet med att odla en mellangröda är bland annat att rötterna snabbt ska kunna ta sig ner i marken för att få en luckrande effekt och ta upp överbliven växtnäring så det inte lackas ut.

Målet med försöken har varit att ta reda på om det finns en skillnad mellan olika fibervävar och deras effekt på temperatur, luftfuktighet och klimatet under fibervävarna. Försöken är tänkt att utgå från de förhållanden som finns i kulturodlingar av färskpotatis och jordgubbar för att se vilken effekt fibervävarna har på dessa kulturer. Försöket har varit av stort intresse på de två gårdar där de lagts ut, dels för att det inte finns något material som tar upp fibervävarnas effekt på temperatur och luftfuktighet på det sättet som våra försök har varit tänkta att påvisa. Resultaten har visat på olika effekter från de olika vävarna. Utläggning av fältförsken har gjorts på två gårdar i Skåne. Det ena försöket lades ut på Humlegården i Vadensjö i västra Skåne. Det andra försöket placerades i Öllöv utanför Grevie på Bjärehalvön i Nordvästra Skåne. På humlegården i Vadensjö finns en lätt mullhaltig moränlättlera som håller pH-värdet 7,9 och i Öllöv utanför Grevie är jordtypen en mullfattig lerig sandgrovmo med ett pH-värde på 6,8. Försöken kom att behandla fem försöksled där fibervävar av samma fabrikat lades ut i samma miljö med temperaturloggrar placerade i centrum av varje försök för att göra mätningar en gång i halvtimmen på temperatur och luftfuktighet.

SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] penetrated China in spring of 2003, created havoc in the social society, exposed weaknesses within the political system and pushed the nation towards a crisis of confidence. At the same time the crisis revitalised the Party's position, brought people from different social stratum together and had a beneficial impact on the populace's knowledge on health related issues.What makes the SARS crisis in China interesting for further and deeper investigation is the method it chose to respond to its national crisis. They plan of response was indeed a retrogression back to "older" times, using methods and propaganda very much like those used during Mao Zedong and later Deng Xiaoping. The first step of response was denial and cover up of the real situation, which quickly turned to unprecedented transparency, as the magnitude of SARS became known. The Party and the government were quick to proclaim themselves as the bearer of the key knowledge and information on how to best fight the disease, this in sharp contrast to the political trend of more co-operation between the private and public sector and political transparency.

This study departs from the observation that since the late 1980´s educational programmes for curators have been established and since then expanded greatly. The programmes are part of a process of institutionalization and professionalization of the role of the curator within the international contemporary art field where the role as such has gained much power. Even though many statements have been made about this relatively new phenomenon of curatorial studies, there is a lack of sufficient research. The intention of this study is therefore to examine the educational programmes as such. The selection of 15 programmes has been made with the purpose to include early as well as newly established and to cover a wide geographic area.

To produce milk of good standard the feed for the animals kept for milk production is an important part in the work of quality. This makes it important to feed them with good forage, especially when feeding with silage. The process of making silage is very complex and requires a careful handling to be successful. The fundamental idea is to create an anaerobic environment in the herbage to favour the desirable micro-organisms, in this case the lactic acid bacteria. This environment is created by careful handlings were the importance is to pack the crop well and cover it as soon as possible to exclude oxygen.

Feline asthma is a condition very similar to the respiratory disease affecting humans. It is causing, among other things, a constriction of the bronchial airways, an increase of mucus production and damage to, or erosion of, the epithelial membrane. The symptoms occur intermittently and do, in most cases, evolve during a long period of time. The aim of this essay was to investigate whether there are any nursing routines for feline patients with asthma in animal clinics and animal hospitals in Sweden, and if so, to compare similarities and differences. A literary study of research material also led to a suggestion of how to form a nursing routine for this type of patient.
