Mental health problems among young people - causes and actions Results from several studies indicate that the prevalence of mental illness among young people has increased recently. This paper has a qualitative approach where three Counselors and a school nurse was interviewed. The purpose of this study is to try to get an idea of how these staff are working with young people suffering from mental illness at school. The aim is also to examine whether there is an opportunity for the staff to work proactively to promote mental health..

The study?s purpose is to find out how important cultural competence is for the guidance of people with multicultural backgrounds. I also want to illustrate that what is seen as normal in one culture may mean something different in another culture. The study will also in some extent explore culture clashes and its problems in the guidance context. The method used in the study is qualitative and the five respondents were all practicing Muslims.

This study was built on the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) as an ability with four branches, to effectively: (1) perceive (2) reason (3) understand and (4) manage emotions. By closely studying the four processes of EI through eight semistructured interviews with psychologists, Counselors, CBT-therapists and psychotherapists, a study of participants' stories from real practice was done and then analyzed and interpreted. The purpose of this study was to get the participants to describe and put words on practical experiences that occur with clients that correspond to the four domains that define the concept of EI according to Mayer et al. (2008) and find out about if their way of "doing" EI gets trained and developed after several years of professional activity. The results shows that the practitioners used all four branches of EI in dialog with the client, both intra- and interpersonal.

The purpose of this study was to examine guidance activities in an employment office and to explain the significance these activities have for the job seekers' way towards an occupation. The method used was literature studies and qualitative interviews with respondents in three categories: a manager, two workingmediators and three job seekers, all at the same employment service office. The results that emerged was that there are different kinds of guidance in the employment service, both in the narrow sense and broad sense. The different categories of respondents describe and define the guidance activities in different ways and have different descriptions of how these activities can help job seekers into employment. The conclusions drawn where that the manager sees everything on the employment service as guidance, workingmediators differ in their roles as advisers and Counselors.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how staff at secondary schools are thinking and reasoning about notifications to social services based on norm breaking behaviors in students. To find this out five qualitative interviews has been made with Counselors in two public schools and three private schools in Örebro län. The results show that there is no clear definition of what norm breaking behavior is which making the reasoning difficult. There are clear procedures for the staff to dealing with norm breaking behaviors but they do not know when they will be applied. The decision to report behavior to the social service is usually not taken individually, it is a result of several people?s views and experiences.

Science has shown that siblings to children with a disability are affected by the family situation. The siblings often let their own needs and requests come secondary to their family members. This study illustrates how different professionals, who keep in contact with families with a disabled child, works with its siblings. The purpose with this study was to see how professionals, working as administrators, Counselors at the habilitation and kin supporters in the region of Kalmar, include siblings while working with the families. Representatives from the professionals have been interviewed with a semi structured interview manual.The result showed that professionals have various opinions how siblings are affected by the family situation.

The purpose of this study was to examine how Swedish high school students view school staff members, in general, but in particular school Counselors. The research questions focused on getting the students descriptions of the staff members roles and functions within the school. The study was conducted using focus group interviews. The answers were divided into themes and then analyzed using role theory and previous research. The results showed that the students relationships with family, friends and previous knowledge about the staff members in school, affects their willingness to seek the support of school staff members.

This study is about relocated students in the school. Research in this area is limited and the aim is to illuminate the area by listening to different people's voices that have been close to or involved in relocations. The study was made of a qualitative method and the collection of data was through interviews. A total of eight people were included in the study. The selected municipality is located in Sweden.

I denna studie går vi igenom skolkuratorns subjektiva syn på relationen mellan skolkurator och elev, samt hur deras arbete går till. I studien har vi använt oss av kvalitativ metod, där vi har intervjuat tio skolkuratorer och deras syn på relationen mellan dem och eleverna på skolan. Skolkuratorns ansvar har blivit större då deras område har växt inom skolan, de måste kunna se individen utifrån både familjära förhållanden men också ur ett kulturperspektiv, då dessa har stor påverkan på tonåringarna. Skolkuratorn måste också se till de olika yttre krav som påverkar eleven, och därför blir det viktigt för skolkuratorn att uppdatera sig med ny kunskap. Skolkuratorn använder sig av många olika metoder för nå ut till eleverna, då de i studien visar sig att en av skolkuratorerna använder sig av böcker, en annan av konst och en tredje av samarbetsövningar.

This is a qualitative study based on interviews with teachers, social workers and school Counselors ? with aim to analyze how norm critical social work is in schools. Gender and sexuality norms are in focus which is analyzed in a intersectional and queer theoretical perspective. The study shows that what is defined as a norm in the society varies both socially, historically and culturally. School is a reflection of its society and therefore also reflects its norms, such as heteronormativity and gender roles.

Vi har i vårt samhälle idag en hög skilsmässostatistik. Individerna i parrelationer har problem att fungera tillsammans på ett tillfredställande sätt. Denna studie baseras på intervjuer med familjerådgivare som hanterar par som har problem i relationen. I undersökningen har jag valt att försöka svara på vad som familjerådgivaren anser kunna skapa höga förväntningar på relationen samt hur dessa förväntningar påverkar relationen. Den belyser även de aspekter som är viktiga för att en relation skall fungera och vad familjerådgivaren kan göra för par som har problem i relationen.

Multiprofessional teams is a common way of organizing the work in rehabilitationmedicine clinics. Team members are usually physicians, physiotherapists, occupationaltherapists, Counselors and nurses where the counselor is the only one from the psycho-social discipline. Team care interventions are provided from a holistic perspective inwhich the patient's physical, psychological and social rehabilitation is taken intoconsideration. The meetings between the professional team and patient have the mainpurpose to increase patient participation. The aim of the study is to observe and analyzecommunication between the professionals, the patient and their relatives during teammeetings.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vägledningssamtalet och vägledares yrkesroll på högskolan. Undersökningen utgår från rollteorier som genomgående ställs mot det empiriska materialet där vägledarrollen på olika sätt kommer in. Studien tydliggör även begreppet projekt som beskriver hur ett vägledningssamtal kan analyserar beroende på vilka förväntningar och syften de olika deltagarna i samtalet har. Metoden som har använts är kvalitativ och studien utgår ifrån sammanlagt sex informanter, varav fyra med vägledningssökande och två med vägledare. Studien visar på att samtliga vägledningssökande har rollförväntningar som till stor del handlar om att få information, och det är just informationsbiten som de ser som viktigast när det handlar om vägledningssamtalen. Båda vägledarna berättar även att de huvudsakligen arbetar med just informationsbiten.

The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say?What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student Counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.
