Intäktsredovisning i tjänsteföretag ? En studie över olikheterna i intäktsredovisningen för onoterade tjänsteföretag med liknande tjänster
Laws, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles hold options on
how companies should recognize revenue. Generally accepted accounting
principles are determined by standard-setting bodies as the Accounting
Standards Board and the Financial Supervisory Authority, which is influenced by
international standard-setting bodies as the IASB. Service revenue is generally
recognized when performance is completed, but there are variations in when a
performance is considered complete. The different accounting options available
create difficulties in comparing companies over time and between companies,
which in turn creates difficulties to achieve a true and fair view.
By clarifying what methods and principles in accounting for service income the
unlisted companies in Sweden are using and why these differences exist, we have
been able to study how the comparability and the true and fair view is affected
by these differences. The aim was to study the underlying factors that
companies do their financial report differently.

In the last couple of decades, corporate law firms have rapidly grown to become both influential and highly profitable corporations in the business world. Today, the largest law firms are assumed to bear far greater resemblance to large and often multinational public limited companies than the small businesses generally associated with legal services. However, one interesting specific set them apart from the majority of other companies; the partnership and its interrelated profit sharing. The aim of this study has therefore been to investigate partner compensation systems in corporate law firms and further examine what implications chosen compensation systems have on the organizations. Using a multiple case study, including 7 of Scandinavia?s largest and most well known law firms, the results show that partner compensation systems are highly individual and the critical question is whether to employ seniority based or performance based compensation systems.

Corporate Social Responsibility - ett sätt att skapa förtroende?
This essay recognizes and criticizes a commonly held assumption that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) functions as a ?savings account of trust? between corporations and consumers. Based on five focus group interviews, the authors discuss how corporations that engage in society can sometimes raise and sometimes destroy the trust of potential consumers. One of our main findings is that CSR seems to raise the expectations among consumers. We then compare this phenomenon with the classical theory of the disconfirmation paradigm.
Optimal kapitalstruktur : En undersökning tillämpad på skandinaviska och tyska företag
This paper describes and develops a trade off model of optimal capital structure by Bradley et al. (1984). The model is then tested to examine how changes in corporate tax rates affect the optimal capital structure of firms. Based on theoretical implications of the model, four hypotheses are derived stating that firms? optimal debt-to-value ratio is (1) negatively related to financial distress costs, (2) negatively related to non-debt tax shields, (3) negatively related to firm volatility and (4) positively related to the corporate tax rate.

Corporate Opportunity : Förbudet för styrelseledamot och verkställande direktör att utnyttja affärsmöjlighet som faller inom bolagets verksamhetsområde
The corporate opportunity doctrine constitutes a prohibition for the directors and officers of a company to pursue for themselves any opportunity which falls within the scope of the corporation?s business. In Swedish law the doctrine has not yet seemed to attract any greater attention. This doctrine has been the focus of a multitude of cases in a both American and English law, however mainly in the America law. Therefore, the American legal framework can serve as guidance in trying to define the doctrine as it has developed, or perhaps more correctly not developed, in national law.The perhaps most crucial question to be answered in the area of corporate opportunities is how the law indentify an opportunity as a ?corporate? one.
