Hedersrelaterade problem i en mindre kommun
Our purpose was to investigate which readiness, different sectors in a minor city has to meet honour-related problems. We wanted to investigate how they manage honour-related problems and how the co-operation in these cases is between different authorities. Our questions at issue were: Which knowledge's, experiences there are about the culture of honour, which resources has the authorities and how is the co-operation between different organisations work?We have collected present documentation and research about the subject. We made eight quality interviews with different persons within professions, as we understood, came in contact with cultures of honour.
Endast en utopi eller en realitet? En studie om Malmö stads interkulturella förhållningssätt i skolan
Since a decade back in time, Sweden is officially recognised as a multicultural society. Different cultures exist side by side and the city of Malmo is one of the clearest examples of this setting. In multicultural societies, the dichotomy of ?us? versus ?them? is common, which leads to segregation and asymmetrical relations of power. The concept of intercultural education is in theory known to be able to create a position of ?us? where every culture is equally recognized and reinterpreted and thus become an alternative to the dichotomy.
Ledarskap för motivation : En kvalitativ studie om chefers perspektiv på ledarskap för motivation
The purpose of this study is to investigate the managers? perspective on leadership in relation to the motivation of the employees by an example of a manning and recruitment agencies. This is implemented by framing of two questions; What kind of leadership can be identified by middle managers to motivate their employees? Which motivation factors are relevant to employees based on the perspective of the managers? To answer the question and identify leadership strategies and motivational factors and the relationship in between, we have conducted eight interviews with persons who hold a middle management position. Through a qualitative investigation we have been able to go into depth and had access to these managers reflections, thoughts and experiences.
Gränslöst. En global utställning på Historiska museet
This thesis is a report concerning the practical aspects on exhibition techniques. During an internship at the National History Museum in Stockholm I participated in the work with their new, temporary exhibition Gränslöst - en global utställning på Historiska museet [Boundless - a global voyage of discovery at the National Historical Museum]. I was part of a small project team of museum staff. The purpose of this exhibition was to show how cultures have met and influenced each other throughout history. The National Historical Museum has in its collections and exhibitions several examples of objects that has been imported from or inspired by other cultural areas.

Mimer använder CSR som en sätt att förbättra sitt anseende och skapa ekonomisk vinning på lång sikt. Genom att kommunicera detta internt och externt kan Mimer stärka sitt varumärke och skapa konkurrensfördelar.
Shareholder value - The American way and the Swedish game to play? : En studie om ideologisk förändring i svensk bolagsstyrning
Shareholder value has its origin in the American corporate governance system and has been the subject of great debate over the last few decades. The proponents claim that it creates economic efficiency while the critics argue that maximization of shareholder value jeopardizes the long term survival of companies. However, the debate in Sweden already seems to have forgotten the question of how embedded the ideology really is and what´s leading its way. This study show that shareholder value has developed and been established in Swedish companies between 1995 and 2005. The study has found evidence that suggests that the development can primarily be linked to board networks and international exposure.
The Value of Digital Information DIV-index, A Corporate Asset
Companies have in the past decades changed fromtraditional manufacturing organizations into serviceorganizations. For these service organizationsinformation and competence have become animportant resource. The traditional view oninformation is that an employee use and search forinformation to reduce uncertainty for their decisionmaking. Even though information is strategicallyimportant for organizations, information is not valuedin any way. Hence, this thesis aims to valueinformation in terms of the utility it brings to theorganization.The conclusion is that four factors are important whenvaluing information in terms of utility.
Lojalitetsplikt för styrelseledamot och VD - i perspektiv av Companies Act 2006
Styrelseledamot och VD har som uppgift att tillgodose bolagets och dess aktieägares intressen och dessa organ är därmed bundna av en viss lojalitetsplikt gentemot bolaget. Grunden till bestämmelser angående lojalitetsplikten är att förhindra att bolagsledningen handlar i egenintresse, men att bolagsledningen skall vara lojala mot bolaget de representerar följer i Sverige mer av allmänna sysslomannaprinciper än av bolagsrättsliga regler. Aktiebolagslagen ger nämligen uttryck för denna plikt endast i ett fåtal regler: jävsbestämmelserna och generalklausulen. Lojalitetsplikten är dock mer omfattande än så och det kan uppstå situationer där styrelseledamot eller VD får möjlighet att agera i eget intresse på bolagets bekostnad utan att bolaget är part i rättshandlingen. Dessa situationer berörs varken av jävsreglerna, generalklausulen, eller ABL i övrigt.
Bikulturalism och ackulturation : andragenerationsinvandrares erfarenhet av att leva med två kulturer
The aim of this paper was to examine the specific experience of being bicultural, what ackulturation strategy the person utilized and what influenced the use of this strategy. The findings were analyzed with the help of Pierre Bourdieu?s concepts of habitus and cultural capital. The empirical data was collected through qualitative interviews with four women of Chilean background, who either were born in or had been living in Sweden since childhood. The results of the interviews showed that all the respondents predominantly utilized the integration strategy, meaning that they participated in and felt a connection to both the Swedish and Chilean culture.
Kulturers påverkan på förhandlingar
In this thesis, I discuss the impact Swedish national culture may have on Swedish diplomats. This is a qualitative study and I have used theories from studies of international negotiations to compare the oppositional results of those scientists with my interview material. With the help of my interview material from seven Swedish diplomats and five foreign diplomats I have compared their perceptions of Swedish culture, Swedish diplomats and their thoughts about the existence of an international diplomatic culture with well known sceientists of international negotiations. My main question is whether there is an international diplomatic subculture, without any national impact, or not. The mission is to base the thesis with earlier science and then compare and contrast with my interview material.

Talented people are recognised as being the most important corporate resource over the next twenty years and a competitive compensation system is an important tool in attracting and retaining talent. Traditional pay systems are recognised as being neither cost effective nor motivating people to do more. Often these systems do not contribute to strategic objectives. Collaboration to address a wicked problem : the case of certified palm oil
Corporations meet complex challenges as they operate on a global market. Global multidimensional problems are referred to wicked problems and which cannot be solved only
managed. In this case, of certified palm oil, palm oil production can be seen as a wicked problem due to deforestation of rainforest, land grabbing and social conflicts. There are also conflicts regarding the value and interest of palm oil.
This thesis investigates the Swedish transformation for certified palm oil and how actors in the Swedish food market address this transformation to have certified palm oil in their production. The aim of this thesis is to explain enabling factors to address the governance gap
of ethical sourcing in the food industry.

Sara Lidman?s second novel Hjortronlandet (1955) unfolds in the north of Sweden in the early 20th century. It describes the progress of modernity and the conflicting interests of an old local culture and a new more ?civilised? one. The two cultures are constituted by different value systems and in the novel they are represented by two neighbour communities.

On one hand, it suggests that companies foremost shall focus profits and act in the best interest of the shareholders. On the other hand, it connects CSR to be a contributor to competitive advantage that increases the company?s profitability.Problem formulation Svenska Spel is competing with other betting companies who doesn´t act under the same conditions, betting companies that don´t have a responsibility to the state.
Effekter av CSR : En granskning av AstraZenecas samhällsstöd
Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, har under de senaste decennierna kommit att bliett vedertaget begrepp och att engagera sig i CSR har blivit en självklarhet för mångaföretag. Företag förväntas definiera sin roll i samhället och applicera både etiska ochsociala normer inom sitt företagande. Läkemedel utvecklas och produceras för att förbättra hälsotillståndet i världen och det finns således en naturlig koppling mellan läkemedelsbranschen och CSR. Denna utredning berör det globala läkemedelsföretaget AstraZeneca och deras arbete medCSR. Att det inträffar olika typer av förödande katastrofer på jorden är ett faktum och vid dessa tillfällen donerar AstraZeneca läkemedel till behövande.
