This thesis aims to study whether the Swedish corporate law is in need of additional rules regarding the composition of the board of directors from a gender equality point of view. Sweden is internationally a state that is far ahead when it comes to creating equal opportunities for all its citizens. The Swedish labour market consist of men and women to an equal degree, although this is a phenomena that is not reflected on the leading positions in the larger limited corporations listed on the stock exchange. This is a trend that definitely needs to be attended to, since women can provide crucial knowledge that is important not only to the individual corporation but also to the society as a whole. This is strengthened by the fact that demographic differences in boards stimulates creative solutions and well reasoned suggestions.The opponents to legal measures regarding affirmative action base their arguments on the fact that the shareholders right of ownership is limited as a result of such measures and also that rules regarding self-regulation through corporate governance is preferable.

Nästan dagligen möts vi i media av olika rapporter kring klimathotet, naturkatastrofer eller andra händelser med koppling till klimatdebatten. Frågor om klimatet och vilka insatser som bör vidtas för att stoppa temperaturökningen diskuteras ofta på olika toppmöten. Klimatfrågor är ständigt närvarande och påverkar såväl beslut av styrande politiker likväl som beslut som enskilda tar i sitt dagliga liv.Samtidigt som klimatdebatten intensifierats har det blivit vanligare att företag frivilligt tar ett visst samhällsansvar, så kallat Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Denna typ av samhällsansvar gör att företag kan förbättra sitt renommé i allmänhetens ögon. Inom ramen för sitt samhällsansvar är det en del företag som väljer att klimatkompensera sin verksamhet.

Frågeställningar: Hur påverkas kundens förtroende till AA Logistik Västerås av AA Logistik Västerås CSR-arbete?Hur påverkas kundens förtroende till AA Logistik Västerås av kundens förväntningar på AA Logistik Västerås CSR-arbete?Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva hur kundens förtroende till sin transportleverantör påverkas av leverantörens CSR-arbete, samt hur förtroendet påverkas av kundens förväntningar på leverantörens CSR-arbete.Slutsats: Studien visar att transportleverantörens CSR-arbete påverkar kundens förtroende för leverantören positivt. I två av de undersökta kundrelationerna finns det inte några upplevda brister angående någon av komponenterna delade värderingar, kommunikation och opportunistiskt beteende. I den tredje kundrelationen finns mindre brister angående komponenterna kommunikation och opportunistiskt beteende, men de är förknippade med en så liten del av relationen att det inte har någon större betydelse för hur det påverkar förtroendet från kund till leverantör. Att en stor majoritet av förväntningarna hos kunderna har uppfyllts gällande CSR-arbetet, styrker påståendet om att CSR-arbetet påverkar förtroendet positivt ytterligare..

The main purpose of the study was to analyse the well being of children placed in foster care for at least two years, in one sample municipality. An assessment was made of how the social service admistrated and took responsibility for these children in terms of schooling, physical and mental health. To further understand the situation of the children three areas of investigation were added concerning; teenage pregnancy, the mental health and mortality of the biological parents. To receive answers to those questions a qualitative interview method was used, with structured questions to social workers working with foster care. The author also studied journal notes and child investigations to receive a more comprehensive picture.

It used to be a demand that Social workers and personnel at Child and adolescence psychiatry had interdisciplinary collaboration, today it is more then a demand it is a requirement. The aim of this study was to understand how the personnel at the Social services and Child and adolescence psychiatry look at the cooperation between the two organizations in Sweden.To be able to accomplish this study we have interviewed four persons employed at the Social services and three persons employed at Child- and adolescencepsychiatry all of them were interviewed individually. To be able to analyze our material from the interviews we have used new institutional organization theory and Goffmans dramaturgic perspective at teams. The interviews showed that there is collaboration between the organizations on all levels, but that the organizations have different priorities.

The purpose of the study is to investigate how board structure influences CEO compensation for companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2004. The theoretical frame of reference is based upon the corporate governance theory, the principal-agent theory and previous empirical research in the area. A cross sectional regression analysis is used, where a number of control variables are included and significance tests are conducted. The study is based on information regarding CEO compensation, and possible factors affecting the compensation, from 267 companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange A- and O-list in the year 2004. We find that the board structure has no significant effect on the CEO compensation.

Aims: The aim of this study is to describe how youth?s political exclusion is constructed as asocial problem. This is done through a study of a project which aim is to engage young peoplein politics.Method and theory: By interviewing the project?s manager and developer as well as eightparticipating young people different constructions of the problem of youth political exclusionhas been analyzed using the social constructionist perspective on social problems.Findings: The dominant perspective found in the empirical material includes framing youngpeople?s lack of political knowledge and self-confidence as the reason for their politicalexclusion. Even though the Youth Board (ungdomsstyrelsen) in Sweden officially views allyoung people as a resource, when youth politics are implemented through projects, this is notthe view that young people meet.

Vocational rehabilitation is an ongoing issue that directly or indirectly affects everyone at a workplace. In recent years, laws and rules have changed. The 1st July 2008 changes were made in the General Insurance Act (SFS 1962:381). These changes have meant that there is now a so-called rehabilitation chain.  The rehabilitation chain contains time frames for when sick people will have their ability to work tested against their normal work or to other jobs. If a person is considered having enough capacity to be able to work he or she will lose their entitlement to sick pay.The aim of our study is to investigate managers? perceptions of the new rehabilitation chain, with a focus on vocational rehabilitation of long-term sick to get them back to work.The method used was qualitative and data collection was done through nine semi-structured interviews.

There are an increasing number of unaccompanied children coming to Sweden. Sweden is one of the countries in the world that receive many of them. This awoke my interest to investigate the assessment of financial assistance and ?other living expenses? considering unaccompanied children. My approach was a qualitative study including interviewing five social secretaries working in five different districts in Malmö.

Syfte:Det övergripande syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva, analysera och förstå vilka motiv som företag anger ligga till grund för att företag arbetar med CSR. Undersökningen syftar även till att skapa en ökad förståelse hos läsaren kring denna problematik.Metod:I vår uppsats har vi använt oss av kvalitativ forskningsmetod med utgångspunkt i en induktiv forskningsansats. Vi har intervjuat fyra respondenter från utvalda företag.Teoretiska perspektiv:I denna uppsats har vi använt oss av litteratur samt vetenskapliga artiklar inom området Corporate Social Responsibility.Empiri:Vi har samlat in vårt empiriska material med hjälp av telefonintervjuer. Vi har intervjuat två respondenter som båda arbetar inom Logistik AB. Den ena respondenten arbetar som Chef för arbetsområdet Säkerhet & Fastighet och den andra respondenten arbetar som Produktionsamordnare.

The change in course recently taken by the Swedish Armed Forces results in an increased use of equipment, and thereby increased requirements of preventive maintenance. This paper aims to examine the current responsibilities for preventive maintenance in an army unit. The intended effect of this examination is to disclose possible flaws, and to help make routines for preventive maintenance more effective.The questions asked in this paper are;Who, in an army unit, is responsible for the routine maintenance?When is this responsibility valid?What demands does the technical service have on responsibilities for the routine maintenance?How are these demands met?How ought to be responsible for the routine maintenance?To answer these questions the author has chosen to use a descriptive method to show the current facts. A theorizing method is chosen to, from described facts, clarify the demands of the technical service on routine maintenance.

Denna uppsats berör och problematiserar kring ämnesområdet CSR, en förkortning av engelskans Corporate Social Responsibility, eller som det heter på svenska; företagens sociala ansvar. Syftet med studien är att genom fem uppställda hypoteser undersöka om det finns något samband mellan omfattningen av företags CSR-kommunikation och variablerna: omsättning, segment (börsvärde), omsättning per anställd, branschtillhörighet, samt vilken typ utav CSR-kommunikation som används mest frekvent. För att besvara syftet genomfördes en kvantitativ undersökning där 254 företags årsredovisningar analyserades och poängsattes efter en framtagen skala rörande CSR-kommunikation. Den totala poäng de erhöll (företagens CSR-tal) jämfördes sedermera med ovan nämnda variabler genom regressionsanalys och medelvärdesberäkning. Teori kring ämnesområdet sammanställdes och användes senare som analysverktyg av de uppkomna resultaten.

The thesis handles the principal-agency problem between shareholders and the Chief Executive Officer. The purpose of the thesis was to examine the link between CEO compensation and corporate performance measured as a change in Market to Book ratio. Data was collected from corporate annual reports between the years 2000 ? 2008 and the study covers 39 Swedish companies from the Stockholm Stock Exchange Large Cap list. To examine whether there is a link between the CEO´s compensation and firm performance, we performed a regression analysis, and no significant relation is found.

A wish for a higher standard of living has driven the rate of consumption in Sweden. Mainfocus in business is on a higher growth and profitability where some companies use a lowprice strategy to win competitive advantage. The positive consumption pattern spiral is oftendiscussed in media, while criticism is limited and often refers to the environment. In order toreduce our ecological footprint we should consume more sustainably. More and morecompanies implement CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in their business strategy tobecome more sustainable.
