Grönstrukturen är en av de övergripande strukturerna i vårt samhälle tillsammans med bebyggelsestruktur och infrastruktur. Alla olika funktioner som grönstrukturen har kan i sin tur delas in i tre övergripande grupper med: sociala, ekologiska och kulturella funktionsvärden. Det är ofta så att de sociala och kulturella värdena inte får lika stor tyngd vid beslutsfattande. Då är de främst de ekologiska funktionerna som går före eftersom den befintliga naturen har t.ex. skyddsvärda arter. Det finns olika sätt att planera ett områdes grönstruktur som saknar befintlig grönska: Patrik Grahns åtta parkkaraktärer tillsammans med typaktiviteterna med sina tydliga inriktningar och konkreta innehåll kan ligga till grund för och inspirera till nya parker och grönområden.

Arbetet för ett mer jämställt samhälle, och hur detta kan uppnås genom den fysiska planeringen, är högst intressant och ett ständigt aktuellt ämne att debattera. Det har tidigare påvisats att behandlingen av jämställdhet i den kommunala översiktsplanen är milt uttryckt, otillfredsställande. Frågan är om det fortfarande finns tendenser att arbetet för ett ökat jämställt samhälle inte behandlas på ett tillfredsställande sätt i den översiktliga planeringen, eller om detta är något kommunerna i landet har ändrat på? Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är inte att explicit svara på dessa ovanstående frågor, utan ligger i att finna ett antal ?analysverktyg? för att undersöka hur ett urval av översiktsplaner behandlar jämställdhet. Kunskap om genus och människors vardagsliv är viktiga aspekter i arbetet mot ett ökat jämställt samhälle. Det är därför begreppen jämställdhet, vardagslivsperspektiv och genus som kommer genomsyra analysen av de utvalda översiktsplanerna. Analysdelen behandlar översiktsplanerna var och en genom kortare beskrivningar över hur respektive kommun resonerar i olika frågor, och en analys utifrån en jämställdhetsaspekt belyser avsiktliga eller oavsiktliga konsekvenser av detta. Avslutningsvis kommer arbetets frågeställning besvaras och en diskussion föras kring huruvida behandlingen av jämställdhet i de kommunala översiktsplanerna kan anses vara bra eller inte utifrån det forskningsunderlag som studerats..

The purpose of this study is to propose and formulate quantitative indicators to help measure an aspect of the Environmental Objectives in Swedish legislation: ?A Good Built Environment, Interim Target 2.? The governmental bill 2004/05:150 suggests changes to Interim Target 2: By 2010 built environments of cultural heritage value will be identified and placed under long-term sustainable management. Following the revised formulation regarding sustainable management, indicators should be formulated to measure the fulfilment of sustainable management of built environments of cultural heritage value. An important part of management takes place at the municipal level of planning, where detailed development plans include regulations to protect built environments of substantial cultural heritage value. As a result, this study is focusing upon the regulatory function of the Swedish Planning and Building Act in respect to the built environments of cultural heritage value.

Over the last few years, many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the aid sector have grown and become important economic, social and political actors in Sweden. However this sector has also been hard criticized in terms of aid effectiveness. Church of Sweden (CoS), a well established organization in this sector, has faced new challenges in form of demands from their environment regarding reporting aid work. These demands have pushed the International Department of Church of Sweden into a process for adapting the structure in order to meet the new effectiveness requirements. Using both, Contingency Theory and Resource Dependence Theory as theoretical framework and a single case study as research strategy, this master thesis goes in deep into the description of the change of the structure of the International Department. This work shows how the different parts of the organization functions and what impact will these changes in the structure mean for the future of the organization. The analysis of the empirical evidence related to the theoretical framework shows that the organization responds to external demands through a more centralized structure than before.

Uppsatsen syftar till att utreda hur balanserat styrkort och budget kommer till användning inom den offentliga sektorn samt utreda vilka faktorer som påverkar deras användning. Tillvägagångssättet för studien kännetecknas av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod med influenser av såväl en induktiv som deduktiv forskningsansats. Även inslag av Grundad teori förekommer i samband med datainsamling och analys. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt behandlas utvecklingen från traditionell till modern verksamhetsstyrning. Därefter utgörs den teoretiska referensramen av Otleys "contingency theory", en teori om verksamhetsstyrning, Otleys teori om hur ett styrverktyg kan analyseras samt Sven Modells teori om faktorer som inverkar på organisationers verksamhetsstyrning.

In Sweden whenever trains or maintenance workers want access to the railway system, their requests of usage and movements are being supervised, granted and handled by train dispatchers. The profession holds a key role in making the complex railway system work in terms of efficiency, safety and delivering on-time arrivals. This master thesis, delegated by the Swedish Transport Administration, has been carried out at the Division of Human Computer Interaction at Uppsala University and at the train traffic control center in Gävle. The aim has been to map what information the train dispatchers use in order to make safety-related decisions concerning their working goals. And further to describe and analyze how the train dispatchers, visavi their tools and systems in the work domain, gather necessary information.The result indicates a complex, diverse and spread out setting of different programs, procedures and tools that make satisfactory fulfilment of efficiency, safety and punctuality in relation to the time table hard.

AbstractThis bachelor thesis has been assigned by the company ACG Nyström, Borås. ACG Nyström is working in cooperation with a Swiss company named Jentschmann AG. Jentschmann is a manufacturer of ultra sonic welding machines which ACG Nyström is marketing in Scandinavia and the Baltic States. On behalf of Jentschmann AG the company has the aim to introduce the ultra sonic welding technique to new companies.The aim of this thesis is to compare traditional sewing machines with ultra sonic welding machines within two textile areas, protective clothing and outdoor living.Two investigative questions have been formulated for this purpose: what are the differences between a sewing machine and an ultra sonic welding machine? Is it possible to replace the sewing technology with ultra sonic welding? These stand as guidance for this paper.To gather knowledge interviews, literature studies, and tests on two different ultra sonic welding machines were performed.

Syftet med arbetet är att studera och analysera det offentliga rummet, hur möten mellan människor uppstår och vad rummet används till. Kandidatarbetet belyser begreppet offentligt rum och vad detta har inneburit och vad det innebär i nutid. Arbetet belyser även teorier om vad ett offentligt rum innehåller för aktiviteter och vad rummet bör innehålla för att locka till sig människor. Arbetet resulterar i ett gestaltningsprogram för Deltavägen på Backaplan i Göteborg, där fokus ligger på strukturen av gaturummet och de offentliga ytorna längs gatan. Arbetet baseras på litteraturstudier samt inventeringar av två gator och dess offentliga platser i Göteborg. Arbetet inleds med en beskrivning av det offentliga rummet och dess innebörd.

The NIPF (Non Industrial Private Forest) owners in Sweden have very differentiated goals and needs with their forest. They have different backgrounds and some of them live at their forest estate while other live in an urban environment, and some are economically dependent on their forest estate while others are not. The heterogeneity among these forest owners creates problems for market actors that want to aim marketing messages to catch their interest. This is the problem background to the task that was provided to us as an investigative masters thesis for us. Their request was a plan for ensuring a successful marketing towards different segments of the NIPF owners. We commenced with a literature study based on market information and previously carried out similar investigations. We summarized the most important market information from the literature and created some hypotheses regarding goals and needs of the NIPF owners.

District heating covers around 80 % of the heating demand in apartment buildings and 10 % in single-family homes in Sweden. In the year 2010 the total input of energy to the Swedish district heating grids was about 70 TWh, which corresponds to 11 % of the total energy input to the whole energy system in the country. Through the combined production of heat and power the CHP-plants often reaches an efficiency of 90 % from energy in the fuel to produced heat and power. In order to keep the efficiency high it is important for the owners of the plant to have good knowledge about the plants performance at different operation points. Strängnäs Energi AB initiated this diploma work together with FVB Sverige ab in order to come up with a program for short term planning of the production of heat and power at the company´s CHP-plant.The work consists of three main parts.

Detta examensarbete tar upp viss problematik kring externhandel. Det belyser även hur ett externt handelsområde kan bli ett fungerande komplement till stadskärnan när den inte har möjligheter till att växa sig till det som dagens invånare kräver och förväntar sig att den ska innehålla. Handeln har i alla tider varit en av stadens viktgaste funktioner som gett staden liv och gjort den attraktiv. Under 1960-talet började stormarknader etableras i perifera lägen utanför staden.Konkurrensmedlet som användes var stor säljyta och voym. Butikerna sålde inte längre enbart livsmedel - stormarknaden var här. Stormarknaderna och varuhusen etablerade sig i billigare lokaler utanför staden, i äldre industriområden, i bilorienterade lägen. Överskådligheten har gått förlorad i de svenska städerna till följd av bilens genomslag. Idag fi nns det tre områden som kan pekas ut i staden, bostads-, industri- och serviceområden.

Rapid urbanization causes competition over land use between green area preservation and urban development in cities and greatly affects ecosystems as well as human well-being. This conflict is significant all around the world as many cities are now replacing existing green areas with new developments. The area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg in Uppsala is currently experiencing the same conflict, as the need that the city has for new housing represents a threat for the many valuable green areas that are in the site. The purpose of this project was to understand how the need of urban development and the preservation of green areas could be balanced. This understanding would thereafter be used to make a design proposal for the area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg.

During thousands of years, reindeer have adapted to living under harsh conditions with large seasonal variations in climate and forage availability. This adaptation implies that body functions and nourishment needs are strongly bound to the season. In the summer the reindeer has to maximize food intake to build up fat and protein reserves for the winter. More than 200 different plant species are included in the reindeer diet, but since reindeer have an unique ability to use the nourishment in lichen, different lichen species make up a large portion of their winter diet in many areas. Fundamental for reindeer husbandry is access to natural grazing during most of the year.

Cultural heritages are environments created by humans that are considered to have a conservation value for the posterity. They can be seen as one of society's non renewable resources. It is important to have knowledge of how cultural heritages are affected by future climate changes.The water flow in Uppsala is estimated to increase during winter and decrease during spring and summer. Precipitation will gradually increase as well as the intense short period precipitation. The average temperature is estimated to increase as well.

Idag används affärssystem inom de flesta verksamheter. Syftet med att använda sig av ett affärssystem är att det ska stödja verksamhetens handlingar och bidra till effektivitet inom organisationen. I dagens läge har de flesta verksamheter infört eller tänkt införa/byta ut ett affärssystem vilket ibland inte är så lätt. Införandet och användandet av ett affärssystem kan potentiellt leda till många förändringar. Jag kommer att med denna studie påvisa vilka faktorer verksamheter behöver ha med sig för att lyckas med ett affärssystemsinförande men samtidigt ta upp vilka fallgropar man ska se sig för vid införandet.
