iPad på en byggarbetsplats : Det effektiva och papperslösa sättet att arbeta på

Quality assurance of Construction projects and create effective ways of working, is intoday's pressed position, major objectives for building contractor companies. This thesis is an attempt to see if it is possible to achieve these goals with the new modern tool iPad.The author of this thesis has during the latter half of his one year practice work in Uppsala for the Swedish building Construction company NCC Construction Sverige AB, conducted a study on the possibility of using the iPad on an Construction site. This has been done with active field studies in which applications have been tested and also the supervisors receptive. The usability of the iPad has always been in focus since it is important that the applications are easy to use and easy to learn. The results of the work, as presented in this report, points at opportunities in efficiency if the iPad is introduced and used on Construction site. There are many useful applications for the iPad, and with a system that can handle the synchronization between the iPad and the computer, the workflow will be streamlined significantly..

Resan mot partnering

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how the working method partnering has been welcomed in the Swedish Construction company NCC and find possible explanations to this. The theoretical background used to understand and discuss our findings mainly builds on value and network dynamics. The empirical study is of a qualitative nature and builds upon 13 semi-structured interviews and the participation in a two-day start up workshop with 21 representatives from involved parties. The study shows that partnering has been positively accepted at NCC. Possible explanations for this can be found in the contrast the method represents to the traditional way of working within the Construction industry.

Effektivisering av byggproduktion med VDC och förstärkt verklighet : Streamlining construction work with VDC and augmented reality

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is currently used more and more within Construction design and planning as well as Construction as a streamlining tool aiming to improve communication and decrease the number of Construction defects. VDC is constantly developing, but what comes next? The augmented reality (AR) technology is currently not used within Construction in Sweden but should be considered as the next step in line regarding the integration of reality and digital information. Using this technology design can become reality even before it?s actually built. The purpose of this study has been to carry out an inventory of the existing AR technology and its shortcomings, and also to identify possible applications within the Construction phase.

Situationsanpassat ledarskap för byggproduktion

A large cost at the Construction sites today is the labour cost of the workers. But unfortunately the worker potential is not used to full. It is not unusual to take into a count with a work-?place-?additional-?time of 50% in some cases. By increasing the workers' motivation and responsibility for their tasks may reduce the time considerably, which also increases the potential for greater gains in Construction projects.By using the situational leadership may the workers level of maturity develop entirely.

Framtagning av typgodkända formkonstruktioner : Med inriktning mot traditionell väggform

This diploma work was conducted in collaboration with the Swedish civil engineeringConstruction company Skanska Construction in Stockholm. Their interest is todevelop a number of type approved form Constructions which can be used during theConstruction of concrete walls. Skanska focuses on improving safety on their projectsand both supervisors and workers have a need for approved form Constructions inthe current situation. The study is focused on safety and the purpose is to facilitate the preparation beforethe form work can begin. By studying the literature of the subject and conductinterviews with employees at Skanska Construction, the understanding of the issueand knowledge will be increased.Literature studies, interviews together with production and design have been thebasis for a successful study. These changes concern bothconstructors, people working in municipality and county councils and other peoplethat in some way are related to the building sector. Except from the change in orderof the chapters and the renewed and modernized language, the law has now beenextended with a few new phases.According to the new law a certificate has to be issued to start and finish theConstruction; the Construction consulting has changed name into technical consultingand the protocol for the controls has to show what the control is being compared to.This diploma work concerns control visits on Construction sites as related to the newlaw. Ta bort tidstjuvarna! : Om tidsbesparande effektiviseringsåtgärder inom det kommunala bostadsföretaget Gavlegårdarnas byggprojekt

AbstractThe development of the Construction industry is slower compared to other industries. This implies that there must be improvements in this field. One step to increased effectiveness in Construction projects is making the Construction process more efficient, therefore resulting in a positive result for both the actual Construction project and for the overall branch. The purpose of this study is to identify areas for improvement within the municipal housing company Gavlegårdarna completed Construction project, who will then contribute to increased efficiency in their upcoming projects. The work has been performed with the help of two case studies examine Construction projects "Fullriggaren" and "The three nursing homes." Opinions about what could have improved the efficiency of these Construction projects further have been collected with the help of an interview study among some of the project participants involved in both projects. There have been many studies addressing the topic of how the Construction process can be streamlined and similar studies that have been previously conducted.
