For the Swedish artist Björn Lövin, the personal was a problem. In his first exhibition in Moderna Museet, Lövin observed through the fictitious character Mr. P (for »Personality«) the ruptures in the Swedish welfare state. The exhibition Konsument i oändligheten och Herr P:s penningar (Consumer in Infinity and Mr. P?s Money) (1971) was composed of two environments, through which a veridical working class apartment and a high street with life-sized mannequins and furniture characteristic of its time, visualized the societal discrepancies in the welfare state as well as the art world of the early 1970s.

I och med den ökade konkurrensen som råder på marknaden blir det svårt för små- och medelstora företag att överleva. Detta tillsammans med att konsumenterna avskärmar sig från den stora massan av reklam och marknadsföring som de dagligen utsätts för har lett till att företag måste hitta nya unika sätt att marknadsföra sig på för att överleva långsiktigt.Problemformulering: Vilka faktorer är viktiga för att påverka köpprocessen i en butik genom att använda doft som marknadsföringsfenomen?Syfte: Syftet med vår undersökning är att studera kausala samband mellan hur vår oberoende variabel, doft, påverkar den beroende variabeln, köpprocess.Metod: Uppsatsen utgår från en deduktiv ansats. Vi kommer att göra ett experiment och utgå från en kvantitativ metod med kvalitativa inslag.

This diploma work project is a product development project which purpose is to redesign a braking system for a walking frame. The system that was developed diverges the force from the user to braking power, and includes a service brake as well as a parking brake. The most important components of the system are a grip handle on where the user holds on to and a braking handle on which the user operates the brake from. The system also includes a power transmission component, braking package and other mechanical components. All of the components wasn?t developed in this project, several off them has been reused from the existing system.This product has been developed to meet the requirements and standards presented from the principal, Ahlberg Leber.

In the profession of architects there is an element called architectural competitions, where several architects compete in submitting the best solution for a certain task. In this master?s thesis I am studying the competitor?s perspective of an international architectural competition, while at the same time gaining experiences for my future career as a landscape architect. The aim of this thesis is to through an introspection of my own process examine a competitors view of the international architectural competition and how to approach the difficulties concerning international competitions. Through that I hope obtain experience about the international competition as part of the profession of landscape architects and other involved professions. To examine a competitor?s reflection of an international competition, I entered and competed in LE:NOTRE Student Competition, a competition for students where the task was to develop 25 kilometers of complex urban periphery along a chain of natural and artificial lakes in Bucharest, Romania.

Enligt forskning har riktig natur och bilder av natur en avstressande effekt på människor i sjukhusmiljö. Stenpartier byggs ofta för att simulera naturliga förhållanden och kan upplevas som en tredimensionell landskapsmålning som förändras med årstidens växlingar.Syftet med denna studie är att komma fram till en gestaltningsskiss med hjälp av sten och stenpartiväxter. Gestaltningen tänkta plats är utanför Gävle sjukhus. Fokus har lagts på stenpartiets uppbyggnad, växternas krav och anpassningen till sjukhusmiljön.För att ta reda på ett stenpartis uppbyggnad och stenpartiväxters krav på växtmiljö har både en litteraturstudie och platsbesök med intervjuer gjorts. Litteraturen är sökt via LIBRIS.

Geothermal energy can be extracted from an aquifer, where the groundwater is used as heatexchange medium while heat and cold are stored in the surrounding material in the aquiferand to some extent in the groundwater. Application of aquifer storage for the use ofgeothermal energy is mainly used in large scale facilities and is limited to sites with suitableaquifers in the form of ridges, sandstone and limestone aquifers.Löwenströmska hospital in the municipality of Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, islocated nearby the northern part of the Stockholm esker. This means that it can be profitableand environmentally beneficial for the hospital to examine the possibilities of aquifer storagein the esker material next to its property.The purpose of this master thesis has been to investigate if geothermal energy storage with aseasonal storage of heat and cold can be applied within Löwenströmska hospital?s propertyarea using groundwater modeling. A hydraulic groundwater model was constructed inMODFLOW based on a simplified conceptual model of the groundwater system.

In Sweden and in Scandinavia the amount of tree species are rather few. However many different forms of trees arise due to mutations and gives rare appearances like cut-leaved and hanging forms. In some cases these trees are interesting as cultivars and a few of them have become popular garden trees. The knowledge of the original trees and early propagation is meagre.In this study a selected group of trees were found through search of literature. Eight tree forms were chosen and investigated in situ.

Bakgrund och syfte: Matematik är ett ämne som skapar lust och är stimulerande för vissa människor medan det för andra är ångestladdat, svårt och meningslöst (Skolverket, 2002). Decimaltal kan för vissa elever skapa problem (Mange, 1962). Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur sex elever i skolår 6 utifrån en matematiklektion om beräkning av decimaltal, ser på sitt eget lärande och lektionsupplägget. Samt att ta reda på om eleverna själva ser sin egen förståelse utifrån lektionsinnehållet.Metod: Vi utgick från en kvalitativ tradition med en fenomenologisk ansats. För att få fram data till analysen utgick vi från tekniken stimulated recall.

Transportation of oil and gas by the Sea characterizes challenges from a safety viewpoint. In this type of transportation, different sizes of special tankers carrying oil and gas. The marine transportation of these scarce natural riches is involved with risks and hazards, which may lead to many losses; for instance, wasting oil and gas, injuries of people, damaging ships and properties, and damaging environment. The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the risks, hazards, and accidents during transportation of oil and gas (mainly Crude Oil, liquefied petroleum gas, and Liquefied natural gas) by the Sea with concentrating on transport safety. Hence, a better understanding of these risks and hazards can contribute to decrease of addressed losses.This study is carried out on risks associated with maritime transportation of oil and gas starting with describing the general casual chain (dealing with causes, incidents, accidents and consequences/causalities), continuing with describing risk analysis techniques (including event tree analysis and fault tree analysis) and risk control measures/options, and finally implementing aforesaid investigations on real data from two areas; namely UK territorial waters and the Baltic Sea.In this study, the results of analyzing data from 1991 to 2010 in UK territorial waters revealed that collision and grounding were two most common accidents in terms of crude oil tankers, LPG and LNG carriers in which 44% of all accidents were equally divided between collision and grounding.

Denna uppsats tar upp vikten av utevistelse för äldre med demenssjukdomar och trycker på trädgården som en hjälp i arbetet att stärka livskvaliteten. Arbetet är en litteratursökning där material tagits fram enligt snöbollseffekten och resultatet mynnat ut i riktlinjer för design av en demensanpassad trädgård. Här berörs behovet av trygghet och självständighet hos den sjuka. En person med demens behöver en lugn, men samtidigt stimulerande miljö i sin vardag. Forskning har visat att utevistelse i trädgård har en positiv effekt. Genom att använda olika igenkännbara element i trädgården går det att skapa en miljö som den boende känner sig trygg och kan orientera sig i.

Denna uppsats syftar till att presentera erfarenheter av grönsaksodling på tak samt utreda klimatförhållanden och odlingsförutsättningar på Augustenborgs Botaniska Takträdgård i Malmö. Uppsatsen avslutas med förslag på förbättringar och åtgärder för grönsaksodlingen på taket i Augustenborg. Arbetetet omfattar således en generell och en platsspecifik del. Uppsatsen har tillkommit genom litteraturstudier, intervjuer och studier på plats i Augustenborgs takträdgård. Takodling av grönsaker anknyter till såväl gröna tak som stadsodling och dess popularitet ökar i världen. I Sverige förekommer gröna Sedum-tak alltmer och stadsodling har förankrats i våra storstäder. Tak är outnyttjade platser med god potential för odling.

The aim of this study is to make clear the conception ?Sustainable Urban Development? through an investigation dealing with how the sustainable goals are attained in today?s Swedish urban planning. And also try to clarify where and why sustainable development is failing or lacking. Besides that I have investigated how actors take position towards urban sustainability. The essay is based on a literature study about sustainable urban development and it?s changes through the time and place.

Hur samverkar de nationella folkhälsomålen med fysisk planering, och på vilket sätt kan folkhälsomålen beaktas för att förbättra förutsättningarna för ökad fysisk aktivitet hos barn? Denna studie är en fallstudie i Hjo kommun. Studien tar utgångspunkt i kommunens folkhälsoproblematik som visar att det finns en hög förekomst av övervikt hos barn. Intentionen är att undersöka vilka organisatoriska processer som kan underbygga det kommunala arbetet med folkhälsomålen, liksom att ta reda på vilka faktorer i den fysiska miljön som skapar förutsättningar för barns fysiska aktivitet. Avsikten med studien har varit att skapa ett underlag för Hjo kommuns översiktliga planering.

The most important risk to cope with is a risk that is related to a customer?s ability to repay loans. Forecasts indicate that in the future, Swedish farmers will be facing profitability challenges, which points to a need to reconsider the banks procedures considering risk management in credit granting for agricultural businesses.Today?s risk management will be given two complements in this study.
