Detta arbete är en reflektion över ett programvaruutvecklingsprojekt, WAIS, och den arbetsmetodik som användes för detta projekt. Arbetsmetodiken för utvecklings-projektet var Extreme Programming (XP) och vi ifrågasätter om detta val var lämpligt för ett projekt som WAIS. Projektet genomfördes vid Blekinge Tekniska Högskola under våren 2004. Utvecklingsprojektet WAIS var en del av ett större projekt, AIS 42, som stöds av VINNOVA. Huvudprojektets bakgrund och syfte beskrivs för att läsaren skall förstå den roll projektet hade. Studenternas uppgift har varit att utveckla en prototyp för ett system som skall sprida information relaterad till logistik och transporter.

This study is based on the notion of "the postsecular society". I have identified both similar and dissimilar values within current and official publications regarding human rights and gender equality authored by the Swedish Feminist Party and the Church of Sweden. The aim of this study is to identify and review similarities and differences in values, as expressed in definitions and standpoints, and also to try to explain how it is that the actors have similar and dissimilar values. In this context I have chosen the sociologist Jürgen Habermas's theory about "the postsecular society" to increase the understanding how and why similar values within religious and secular actors are presented in, what Habermas calls, "the postsecular society". I have used a qualitative and comparative content analysis for this study. The result shows that the Swedish Feminist Party has a more humanistic view.

The purpose with this paper is to get an idea about the interaction between persons sitting in a wheelchair and the society. We have carried through some literary studies to complement the methods we have chosen. We have interviewed a person who is sitting in a wheelchair to get that persons perspective. We have also carried through a participated observation with ourselves sitting in wheelchairs. Our purpose with these methods was to examine how a person sitting in a wheelchair interacts, verbally, non-verbally as well as how the physical environment is adapted.

The aim of this study is to map the consumption patterns of the poor. We also examine if loyalty can be created in this segment, and try to discover different types of poverty. This study is of great importance since the poor segment has been slightly overlooked in marketing research. Therefore we have also turned to other academic disciplines such as sociology, ethnography and consumer culture in order to analyze our empirical input. The study is abductive and we have in a qualitative and ethnographical manner conducted interviews in order to obtain information and reveal categories.

SammanfattningSyftet med denna undersökning är att prova ut ett verktyg bland en grupp blivande lärare i träning i mänskliga relationer (Human Relations Training eller HRT). HRT är en utbildning i hur man kan kommunicera med bl a elever, kollegor och föräldrar för att skapa goda relatio-ner och konstruktivt hitta lösningar till konflikter och andra problem. Tidigare forskning visar att blivande lärare samt nyblivna lärare i Sverige anser sig ha goda ämneskunskaper men upp-lever en osäkerhet i det kommunikativa mötet vid exempelvis konflikter och vanliga problem som kan uppstå i det vardagliga mötet med elever och andra personer. I USA har det sedan decennier ingått HRT i lärarutbildningen, men då vi inte fann någon tidigare koppling till HRT i den svenska lärarutbildningen blev det intressant att prova HRT:s rekommendationer med kunskaperna som snart nyblivna lärare i Sverige har. En av oss författare fick en utbild-ning i HRT, i USA.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze and map out the cyber culture of the Internet and its all users, identity, design theories and services. How people communicate and how they build up their identities are some of the baselines. I will also discuss the important aspects of Interaction design and how this can be used in a Community for digital storytelling. The Internet, or new media, was founded in the 60?s by some great philosophers (McLuhan, Rheingold, Lambert and more). With influence from their books I will discuss and analyze what kind of media the Internet is and how it can be seen as extensions to our senses, as McLuhan claims.

Attitydens omedvetna effekt är omöjlig att styra, då till exempel känslor såsom ilska, omedvetet kan påverka hur vi reagerar med vår omgivning. Med detta i åtanke undersökte föreliggande experiment huruvida det fanns någon skillnad mellan 44 kvinnor och 42 mäns, ur allmänheten, attityder till att hålla förhör med personer misstänkta för misshandel respektive skattebrott. Halva gruppen undersökningsdeltagare, läste en beskrivning av ett misshandelsfall och den andra gruppen ett skattebrottsfall, varefter deltagarna besvarade frågeformulär om attityder till kriminella respektive attityder till att hålla förhör med brottsmisstänkta personer. En två-vägs variansanalys med män och kvinnor samt brottstyperna som beroende variabler visade att misstänkta för misshandelsbrottet ansågs kunna förhöras med en signifikant lägre grad av humanitet, jämfört med personer misstänkta för skattebrott. En interaktionseffekt förelåg och simple effekt analyser visade att det var kvinnornas resultat som stod för interaktionseffekten.

Use of computers and computer networks is nowadays a part of everyday life. You do not use them only at home when you sit at you computer, but you can use them all the time everywhere. This can involve everything from surf to any website when you are at home, to checking your email on your mobile when you are on your way to work. Most people do not think about how it really works when they try to access a web page by typing the address into their browser, but something that most people probably notice is how long it can sometimes take to access a web page.All items which are directly connected to the IP network have a unique IP address that is used to make it possible to communicate. The IP address is either a period separated sequence of digits representing 32 bits or a colon separated sequence of digits representing 128 bits, depending on whether the address is an IPv4 or IPv6 address.

Knowledge organization is perceived as a central, constituting activity defining the notion of libraries. Critique calling for a new theoretical foundation voiced by active researchers within library and information science concerning the current knowledge organization has been utilized as a point of departure. Specifications concerning a new theoretical foundation implied by these critiques are considered within this thesis and theory found in The Order of Things by Michel Foucault proposed as an alternative theory for understanding knowledge organization as a human science where meaning, value and representation, by which the ordering of things is possible, is acknowledged as a result of human activity and history. Thus meaning, value and representation must be perceived as dynamic. An example of implementation of the proposed theory has been achieved by the use of bibliometrics.

Purpose: The purpose is to present a greater understanding of the progression of innovation capital in a technology transfer and biotech start-up context. The findings offer technology transfer professionals, entrepreneurs and academia an overall perception and mental framework of the technology transfer practice and the embracement of a promising invention, building upon its hidden value. Methodology: The thesis was conducted using a qualitative case study, executed with the help of interviews, in order to answer the research question: How is an embryo of innovation capital continuously cultivated in a technology transfer and biomedical start-up process? Conclusions: A technology transfer entity provides the means to establish a platform where an entrepreneur can build its own human capital, structural capital, and relationship capital. The forms of capital interact and thus create value, herein considered as innovation capital.

In today?s society computers are getting a much more important role. To get a computer to work as intended it has to be programmed. A computer program is written with programming languages. There is an abundance of programming languages available today and there are many differences and similarities between them.

Idag finns ett stort antal e-tjänster som riktar sig till breda användargrupper. Att designa e-tjänsteranpassade för dessa grupper kan vara mycket komplicerat, men det finns metoder för attunderlätta detta. Donald Norman beskrev 1983 ett antal principer för design av vardagsföremål.Dessa principer har blivit allmänt vedertagna inom design och används flitigt inominteraktionsdesign. Syftet med uppsatsen är att testa om principerna kan möta de behov en bredgrupp av användare kan ha. Vi vill utifrån dessa principer utvärdera en befintlig e-tjänst ochutifrån denna utvärdering och analys skapa nya designförslag.

Safe retrieval of nutrients from human excreta to fertilize crops in order to gain adequate yields will increase food security and sustainability in agriculture areas with nutrient-poor fields. Safe and nutritious food will meet the dietary needs of the individual which promotes public health and the ability of an active life. Human excreta should be considered as a resource instead of being assumed as waste. Human faeces and urine is excellent fertilizers which may close the nutrient loop if utilized properly. However, sanitation of the excreta is required to prevent disease transmission by reducing the content of gastrointestinal pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. The objective of this study was to in small scale evaluate the sanitation in a combined liquid compost and urea treatment by monitor the inactivation of bacteria and viruses at the combination three start temperatures, 45, 40 and 35 °C, and three additions of urea, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 % and reference, 0 % urea addition.

The use of computer and video games has increased immensely over the past few decades and today a majority of the Swedish population enjoys them on a daily basis. With such a large number of frequent users, the media reporting on the subject of games becomes interesting and important. How are games represented in the media, and has there been any change in the way they are portrayed as their popularity has grown? ­The aim of this study is to determine if and how the portrayal of computer and video games in Swedish newspapers has changed during the period 1995?2012. The study was conducted with the use of quantitative content analysis and the empirical data was collected from the two most widespread newspapers in Sweden ? DN and Aftonbladet.

Den här C-uppsatsen är en studie om dyslektikers kommunikativa interaktion med kompenserande specialgjorda datorprogram för träning i sitt användande av att skriva olika sorters texter. Ämnets olika nyckelord är det som är relevant för denna C-uppsats. Denna studies undersökningar har skett genom intervjuer med en speciallärare och en specialpedagog som är en form av experter på detta område och kan extra fakta om de olika eleverna (respondenterna). De har intervjuats för att få koll på vad de tycker och anser om specialgjorda datorprogram som jag undersökt. De har även fått svara på en enkät med liknande frågor som i intervjuerna. En annan metod som används för denna C-uppsats är en sorts semiotisk kvalitativ innehållsanalys för att påvisa hur de specialgjorda datorprogrammen ser ut. När det gäller en sorts avläsning till resultatet har den skett med en avläsning av Shannon & Weavers kommunikationsmodell fast till en egen modell samt via en kvalitativ analys som beskriver de specialgjorda datorprogrammens uppbyggnad. Den främsta slutsatsen som fram kom är att denna C-uppsats kommit fram användarnas/elevers och speciallärares och attityder och tankar kring sitt användande av dessa specialgjorda datorprogram som är Oribi Spellright och Vital, via den egna omgjorda Shannon & Weaver modellen. Denna C-uppsats är relevant inom det medie- och kommunikationsvetenskapliga området för den använder sig av Shannon & Weavers kommunikationsmodell samt en form av ett interaktionsmoment mellan människa och dator..
