The purpose of the master thesis was to reflect and analyze music library activities and policies in the public libraries in the area around the city of Borås, in the south-western part of Sweden. With this thesis I also wanted to look at the interaction between the public libraries, the music school and the music associations in the same area. To investigate these matters, qualitative method was used in the form of interviews with seven librarians from seven different libraries and five representatives of different local music organizations. Other methods used were observations and source studies. The literature used discusses the role of the music department of public libraries as well as that of a music librarian working in a public library.

Tårsubstitut används mycket bland linsbärare och personer med torra ögon. Detär vanligt nuförtiden att arbete i kontorsmiljö och vid datorer ger problem medtorra ögon, Computer vision syndrome (CVS), och att dessa personer dåanvänder tårsubstitut. Ofta står det i tårsubstitutens bipacksedel att de kan geproblem med dimsyn en stund efter applicering.Tidigare studier har visat att aberrationerna i ögat ökar vid applicering avtårsubstitut och möjligtvis är det anledningen till att dimsynen uppkommer.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur mycket synkvaliteten påverkas avtvå olika tårsubstitut och hur lång tid den påverkas.Metod: Metoden innebar att närvisus och aberrationer mättes på 30 patienter (60ögon) först utan tårsubstitut. Sedan applicerades det första tårsubstitutet(Systane) i höger öga och ytterligare en mätning av närvisus och aberrationerutfördes. Därefter gjordes ytterligare 5 mätningar av aberrationerna, en var fjärdeminut.

My problem comes out of the bigger question ?why the Catholic church is featured in horror films whenever a religious organization is in one?? I have detected in the horror films that I've seen that when a religious organization is in a horror movie it's the Catholic church that gets to act as church and religion. I have chosen the following problem: How is the Catholic church presented in the horror movies The Exorcist and The Rite, and how can one understand these presentations from a role theoretic perspective?Since role theory has it's background in the world of the theater with it's actors and roles, it came naturally to use role theory, and specifically Goffmans dramatic model. I've used this model in a film analysis of the movies.

Inledning: Human Resources Strategy tar upp viktiga begrepp för hur man ska hantera och behandla sina medarbetare, vilket är ett relevant ämne i dagens samhälle där man har fått upp ögonen för hur strategier genom human resources kan genera vinst i företaget.Syfte: Syftet är att analysera hur ledare på fyra utvalda hotell i Stockholm och Oslo arbetar för att få sina medarbetare att prestera optimalt ur ett serviceperspektiv utefter den etablerade modellen Human Resources Strategy, och därefter finna det hotell som lägger mest vikt vid strategierna i modellen.Metod och material: Uppsatsen är baserad på fyra kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer, 14 vetenskapliga artiklar, litteratur och en icke-deltagande/enkel observation på fyra utvalda hotell, som ingår i något av medlemskapen; The Leading Hotels of the World eller Design Hotels.Resultat: Undersökningen visade att ledarna i studien ansåg att det var av stor vikt att medarbetarna har kognitiv kompetens, blir utbildade inom företaget, får motivation, belöning och förmåner, samt känner delaktighet och att de får regelbunden feedback på sitt arbete. Allt detta för att skapa en positiv arbetsmiljö och trivsel hos medarbetarna, eftersom det skapar förutsättningar för att leverera en högklassig service, men i vilken utsträckning beror dock på hotellets storlek, förutsättningar och resurser.Slutsats: Det är viktigt att hitta rätt strategier för att på så sätt få medarbetare att prestera efter hotellets direktiv gällande service. Det gäller att hitta en balans och rätt strategier som stämmer överens med hotellets storlek, förutsättningar och resurser, för att skapa en positiv arbetsmiljö, vilket i sin tur påverkar medarbetarnas trivsel och prestationer.Nyckelord: Direktiv, Service, Strategier, Värdskap..

The thesis was done in collaboration with EAB situated in Smålandsstenar. In the initial discussion faze on doing a thesis with them there was a need to analyze and ensure the strength of an existing product, cantilever racks. This included performing FEM calculations on a model and comparing the results with physical tests.EAB has two models of cantilever racks, a light duty and a heavy duty. Within the heavy duty model series there are five product variants that differ in both size and load capacity. We will be working with the product variant with a load capacity of 1000 kg/arm which is the variant that is in the middle of the series.When we started work on the thesis we did a literature study and couldn?t find any well defined methodology that integrates both product development and computer aided design analysis.

HR och personalavdelningar har länge försökt att mäta ekonomiska effekter av de aktiviteter som är kopplade till företagens mänskliga resurser. Dessa mätningar förväntas ge HR-avdelningar ett större inflytande i företagen och skulle kunna ge Talent Management teoretisk legitimitet.Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att kartlägga i vilken utsträckning svenska företag följer upp de ekonomiska effekterna av Talent Management, hur och varför det görs eller inte görs. Syftet är även att, om de ekonomiska effekterna följs upp, undersöka om företagen kopplar dessa effekter till lönsamhet.Metod: För att besvara studiens syfte har ett abduktivt angreppssätt med en kvantitativ enkätundersökning valts som grund för uppsatsen. Enkäten skickades ut till Sveriges hundra största företag och har följts upp av kvalitativa intervjuer för att skapa en djupare förståelse för enkätresultaten.Resultat och slutsatser: Majoriteten av Sveriges hundra största företag mäter inte effekterna av Talent Management, vilket överensstämmer med tidigare studier inom området.

The common asylum and migration policy of the European Union is a struggle between a strong belief in the protection of human rights and the need of strong and secured borders. This paper highlights the dilemma that occurs in the common asylum and migration policy of the European Union. What happens when the union have to choose between liberal standards with high priorities to human rights and a realistic focus on security? The aim is to study the asylum policy presented in the Stockholm Program, and thereafter evaluate what kind of character the union has itself. By an ideal type analysis of the Stockholm program from 2009, the common asylum policy is divided into either liberal or realistic ideas.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine three library weblogs to evaluate how they are used and what type of information the libraries publish in these specific weblogs.The following three questions are the basis of this study:? What is the content of the weblogs?? How is the weblog used as a tool by the libraries?? How is the interaction between the library and the readers of the weblogs presented regarding the comment function?The method that has been used in this study is content analysis and the code units have been created during the process. It is mainly a qualitative analysis but it does also contain quantitative elements. With the content analysis, 21 different themes where cut from the three weblogs. These themes where then put into the model of the local library profiles worked out by Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen.

The Functional Resonance Accident Model is a method developed to analyze complex systems for the purpose of accident prevention. In FRAM-analysis a visualization of the complex system is created as an aid for identifying points of interaction in the system where the risk of accidents is high, and to determine where preventive measures are to be placed. FRAM Visualizer is a computer program developed as a tool for creating such visualizations.Many usability problems have been identified in FRAM visualizations created both manually according to established method and by using the FRAM Visualizer software. The purpose of this paper is to give a basis for how FRAM visualizations can be improved in accordance with usability criteria for use in future qualitative studies.The author suggests alterations to the FRAM visualization to resolve usability issues identified in previous articles and to achieve usability goals derived from visual communication theory. The design process is guided by established design principles.

Costs of maintenance on agriculture machines is something that many farmers has a low knowledge of, it can depend on low interest or that the farmer don?t have enough time. To make it easier for the farmers they can use many computer programs which are available on the market. In this program they can calculate their costs of maintaince on their agriculture machines, for example STANK and JTI machine calculation program. Most of this program is using Svensson (1987) costs model whish was made in Sweden in the middle of 80 decade in a large study.

Syfte: I denna studie vill jag undersöka hur rekryteringsprocesser, gruppdynamik och motivationsfrågor behandlas inom kommunal och privat parkförvaltning. Dessa frågor behandlas inom ramen för Human resource management, som handlar om att ta till vara på målen för organisationer och medarbetares behov att utvecklas på jobbet. Med en ämnesinriktad litteratur och en kvalitativ intervjuteknik vill jag undersöka de frågor som aktualiseras av dem som arbetar inom kommunal regi och i privat företagande. Frågorna delades upp i ämnesområdena; organisation, rekrytering, medarbetare, motivation och gruppdynamik. Metod: Intervjuerna studerades ingående och vid upprepade tillfällen för att få en uppfattning om var kärnan i informationen som informanterna delgivit mig låg. Därefter analyserades texterna och resultaten delades in i teman; synen på organisation och rekrytering/motivation och karriärmöjligheter och gruppdynamik på arbetsplats. Slutsats: Det visade sig att ledarna till stor del litar på medarbetarnas förmågor att hitta motivation och att arbeta tillsammans i grupper.

The Aquatic Ape theory was first formulated by Alister Hardy in year 1960. All from the beginning the theory has been criticized, ridiculed, ignored and a source to strong feelings in the anthropological community. The purpose of this essay is to investigate why the Aquatic Ape theory is so controversial and why it is understood so differently by scientists. After interviews with Swedish scientists and the general community, and after reading of anthropological books, I have tried to show that the aquatic ape-coldness depends on it challenging nature against the anthropological paradigm, which describes human beings as strong, hunting creatures who can live in any environment. The Aquatic Ape theory - on the other hand - picks out one of all these environments and says: "here has our evolution occurred: we have been aquatic apes".

Denna studie är en fallstudie av ett privat sjukvårdsföretag. Studien syftar till att undersöka hur olika gestaltningsteknikersamt gruppers sammansättning kan påverka diskussioner kring design och därmed fungera som strukturerande resurser församtalet. Studien vidgar begreppet prototyper till att hantera mer än de delar som behandlats i tidigare forskning: medium,detaljrikedom och närhet till slutprodukt.Datainsamling har skett vid sex fokusgruppstillfällen där tre olika grupper (inom olika delar av en och samma organisation:användare hos kund, användare hos systemleverantören och systemutvecklare hos leverantören) har fört en diskussion kringdesignen utifrån tre olika gestaltningstekniker (gränssnittsskisser, scenarios och dynamiska datorprototyper).Diskussionerna har sedan analyserats i termer av domäner för interaktionsdesign och aspekter av IT-systemet i användning.Studiens huvudsakliga slutsatser är att gestaltningstekniker påverkar vilka domäner och aspekter som diskuteras varfördesignern kan välja gestaltningsteknik efter vad han eller hon vill få ut av diskussionen. Skisserna bedöms ge den mestheltäckande diskussionen, medan scenarios fungerar bäst för dem som inte är teknikvana och tar då upp struktur ochfunktion. Datorprototypen lämpar sig bäst för diskussion kring interaktion och presentation.

Today there is a shortage of skilled IT-technicians in Sweden. It is approximated that Swedish companies can hire 31 000 IT-technicians in 2015 and the need seems to increase in the coming years. One proposed solution to this problem is to make programming more desirable to youths. In this study we attempt to investigate the effects of an introductory course in computer science on youths? (16-17 years old) in a classroom setting.

Inventory management is a key part of a company?s logistics function and is of great importance to companies as it is a substantial cost. It is of high importance for a company to make sure that the warehouse is efficient as possible. In this thesis two factors that hurt a warehouse?s efficiency are introduced; inventory inaccuracies and lead-time variations.This thesis has been dedicated to analyze how inventory inaccuracies and lead-time variations arise and how to eliminate them.To be able to solve this question we have used a qualitative research method.
